So here is my story about Jimmy DiResta ( which is the proper spelling) . I live on Long Island my whole life and not far from Jimmys childhood home.
And I think I have met him in a passing way there .
Now onto how Jimmy saved me.
I was a Amusement / Arcade Technician for 30 Years and built and created many places for having fun. So fast forward to the time I retired .
At that point the creative child that lives within me was creating fun stuff and enjoying every minute . Then retirement was a brick wall of non creativity , that child within was now dormant . Here is where fate had a hand , I started watching CZcams and came across Jimmy there .
Seeing him sparked a familiarity of him , watching him relite the pilot light of Creativity in me . That spark became a roaring bonfire of ideas and creations , I was saved from dormancy. The child within was happy again and is still a Happy creative person . So PROTECT YOUR DIGITS CREATIONS was born and I owe it all to Jimmy and have told him this many times. I now have and Instagram and CZcams channel Thank you Jimmy I am forever grateful to you .

Thank you for the extremely kind feedback. Jimmy has used our materials for so long and the fact that he is such an influential maker and creator...we had to get an opportunity to dig more into his life as well as find out his history with our products. We were so glad to hear about the nostalgia he had and he shares that sentiment with so many others like yourself.
We opened our online store a little over a year ago, so we always plan to keep that from here on out for those who can't find our products in their local area. That will not be going anywhere.

You got a good eye! So what you said is exactly what we were aiming to do when we came up with his series. There are many out there that use our products and we really had no idea who they were initially. It's easy to get caught up in the day to day operations, but something we are commonly asked is: what is it used for?
This is where this series gets to pick that up since there are endless possibilities of what you can do with our product when you have a mind like Jimmy DiResta.
With being in business 76 years now, we know that many have recognized our brand, but I think we didn't know how many really did 😂
For us (ted & scott) we want to focus more on the stories of the maker/creator, but we are enjoying that we can be a bridge to so many different pockets of creators. There are many people in film/prop making that use us as well, so we can't wait to start touring their studios if given the opportunity and showing that side as well.
Wonderful comment and thank you for the recognition ❀

It's so dumb and insane how our culture is geared to just shove every last person down the college path. Maybe 20% of people, tops, has any real business going to college. I don't think most people who went actually make practical use of their studies, and even among those who do, they probably could have learned what they learned on the job. Looking back, I really wish I'd gone into machining or something like that. I never even considered it at the time, even though my main interest was tinkering and hobbies. I feel robbed in a sense. If you go back in time the host, K&S Metals, was owned by Aurora the toy people. As a kid I spent alot of time on their ThunderJet 500 Model Motoring HO slot car stuff. Several years ago, In a weird twist of fate, I discovered that my girlfriend was the neice of Uncle Russell who had developed much of that series in the 60s. Originally from Glendale he was sent back from New York to Southern California to oversee K&S and took a handful of guys with him. One of those guys wasn't an engineer but is credited with coming up with the idea of G Plus MagnaTraction which still ranks as the most important development in that series of slot cars. So to your point about success you never know the when and often even the who... so just immerse yourself. Hi Kevin, thanks so much for watching the video. All we can say from our experience with Jimmy DiResta, is that he is one of the kindest and most generous professionals we have ever met.
Jimmy shows a lot of humility when it comes to his skills because there were several moments throughout our time together where he said he wanted to get better at something and felt very "amateur" when it comes to blacksmithing or other things that needed exercise.
Nonetheless, he is a natural teacher and seeing this was our first feature, he graciously did everything in his power to make sure we were set up for success. While we have skills that we bring to the table, we can be green in a few areas and even with all the prep, Jimmy made sure we nailed down a great experience.
Hopefully from our experience maybe that gives you a little more insight.
