#adamsavage #tested #studiotour - Věda a technologie
I think we could have spent an entire month in Adam’s shop and still only scratched the surface. What an endless wealth of knowledge and entertainment. Just incredible.
To be fair, first order retrievability means that pretty much everything is at the surface, but there sure is a LOT of surface area😅
We need a part 2 then! 😄
Extended version? Please
Where's all the footage from the clips at the end? I want to see him talk about crowbar and halligans again
RedLetterMedia when??????
Been an avid viewer on Tested for years. I love how Adam automatically becomes the host of anything he's ever on, and that he *literally* cannot go 5 seconds without talking about some trinket he's absolutely in love with.
Never, ever change Adam (or do, that's probably more your philosophy!)
Every video with Adam is "I love this weird specialized piece of equipment" and it never deeps fake because he really loves how specialized it is or how it's made
What a Savage!🎉Thank You
This is testament to the quality of content over the quality of gear used, nice work Adam.
That’s absolutely true, but I would say that the cameras on $1000 phones are pretty amazing. Of course the big restriction on these things is the size of the lenses, so you will need good lighting, and that’s not cheap, either - but you need good lighting in a workshop anyway.
I love that Gerald is there for the technical details of how things are shot, but Adam's brain is in space thinking about the philosophy of audience-creator connections. So when Gerald asks one small question about a camera setup, Adam plunges into the entire history of a shot decision, and Gerald is left standing there with the 'I don't know what to do with my hands or focus' look.
This was a lot of fun watching two completely different personalities interact. Fantastic coverage of a studio as always!
My favorite part is when Adam just randomly shows his box of WAGO :)
This video has no reason to be so short! Couldn't get enough of you two, like the father you've always wanted 😂
I love Adam so damn much, and as a regular Tested viewer, I can assure you we are constantly falling over haha. Once I start hearing the noise, I know we're tipping over. But it's part of the experience haha. Adam comes and picks us back up, says sorry guys, and gets back to work lol.
so much falling and spinning :D its really funny when we fall camera up and he stands over going "opps" XD
There's something satisfying and personal about that creaking noise that makes you feel like you're alone there next to Adam while he builds something. I hope he never changes that camera rig, the channel wouldn't be the same without that sound!
Oh my goodness this has to be one of Gerald's best studio tours to date, damn
Adam is so knowledgeable, I could listen to him talk all day.
The whiteout pen font moment is beautiful. Such a clear: Oh we are on the same wavelength moment.
The crossover I didn't know I needed! Thank you Gerald!
Everybody needs 1 year of graphics design experience. Was a gem for eternity! This was a masterclass I've enjoyed!
YESSS MY DREAM STUDIO TOUR
Tell Gerald to give us the 3 hour cut
@@Username_CC_we definitely need the three hour cut!
Seeing Gerald and Joey in a video together is something I never thought I’d see. Having followed Joey for more than a decade, it’s so wild to see him with Gerald who I’ve followed for just short of a handful of years. Life is a treat sometimes.
It was nice seeing Joey in front of the camera for once. Miss the days of him stepping in on podcasts and being the sane one :p
I love that Adam is the personification of "get it done and tell a story" as opposed to the filming gear heads that frequent this channel. There is nothing wrong with being deep into any of these topics, if we all did things the same, there would be no variety. It's really cool how the mutual respect here allows everyone to just vibe and share their respective focus for film making, crafting, and story telling. It takes all kinds, and I love this mashup.
I was unaware that marrette was a Canadianism. You learn something new every day.
It is. The original "wire nut" was made by the the Marr Company in 1914 (inventor: Bill Marr of Toronto, Ontario) and used a setscrew. The current Marrette connector was the evolution of that.
I love when worlds of mine collide. Adam preaching of F.O.R, first order of retrival, helped me reorganize my creative space. Watching Gerald process things Adams say, especially when it is far outside what he would do, was fascinating.
Its rare that a decrease in quality (video in this case) leads to an increased appeal. For me it felt so much more relatable, and home grown when the switch to the cell phone camera happened. I still love the high quality production with the expensive cameras, but the cell phone videos feel so much more intimate and off the cuff in the sense that it feels like Adam just setup and got shooting just for us as opposed to the whole production. Either way, Tested is quality and I'm here to support them!
Also, I love the camera shake, the camera falls, the squeak of the lock line. All just adds to the authenticity.
Honestly I love the sound of when Adam moves the lock line in his videos, for me its similar to the mic things where it just adds to the authenticity of it, where it makes it feel more like Adams just going about his working day, and your just another tool of his desk watching it all, and getting to share in the journey
Watching Gerald ask a question and get a WEALTH of a story and philosophy is SO cool!
I feel like he just tried to absorb every idea Adam pitched about storytelling and the minimum amount necessary to get to the endgoal (i.e. making a thing, telling a story about a thing and so on).
Adam is like the most energetic showman while also being such a great technical mind. It's really fascinating how he sees storytelling from visual to the actual act. It's a testament to how people really need to understand "the best equipment" is only the best if it fits the job and how you work. It's a bit of "if it's stupid, and it works, then it's not stupid" because a noisy home rigging like he uses for camera and lights is a brilliant solution for how he works
I need a part2 2 or a podcast thingy where Gerald and Adam just ramble around random things. its so entertaining
The tour I always wanted but had no idea who would be prestigious enough to host it. It's so cool getting to see all of the overlaps between my favorite creators!
Gerald has collabed with Adam Savage and MAKE ART NOW
Corridor Digital had collabed with Adam Savage and LTT
LTT has collabed with Pewdiepie and so many more
It would be really cool if you could tour the Safety Third science studios at some point; Willy Osman, Micheal Reeves, Alan Pan, Neil Red, and Kevin. If they say their spaces are in shambles or not really a studio it would make for an even funnier video.... they are unhinged lol
It'd be even better if he did it in hazmat for Neil Red as a reference to the claim about radioactive material being easy to get and essentially no rules on disposal (other than the power plant grade and higher materials)
I have to admit. I dig the sound, it reinforces that everything is real in the shop.
Mythbusters was like a class-trip where you see all the huge booms and everything, tested is for the one kid in class that wants to live and know everything about every little gadget that is in the shop.
I failed science class miserably, but there is something about listening to Adam and his absurdly knowledgeable and infectious excitement about the things he does. Imagine doing the thing you love the most and breathing it without any hesitation and being able to convey that to so many people, Adam is THE DUDE.
I could not have been so detached. I would have struggled not to be a total fanboi. I could listen to Adam talk for a year.
Great job on capturing the organised chaos of his workshop 😆 I think this style of filming works brilliantly in a small busy space like this - tripods very quickly become a pain in the arse (not to mention dangerous) when working around machine tools, so I love his god-awful creaky camera arm/clamp contraption.
Also agree with Adam - WAGO connectors rock 🤩I use them for all my own household wiring now, they're super convenient.
Marrette is Canadian as we tend to use brand names for what we call something. Skill saw for circular saw, Kleenex for tissue, Sorels for winter boots. Marrettes are wire nuts.
I feel the passion. He speaks the truth. Adam you are correct. The passion is true
Best studio tour by far so far.
Adam is such a pragmatic man, I love it. Great tour, Gerald!
This is a true gem of a video. Two masters at their crafts together. Absolutely great!!
I watch Adams show every day and find it fascinating. Thank you Gerald for another awesome video.
I absolutely love the camera and light posts that he uses. The falling bits are absolutely the best to add a little unplanned comedy to the videos.
Truly inspiring episode! 🙌
Can't wait to see the next ones, no pressure now.. 😏
8:32 I just love that shot so much. It's so perfectly framed to have Adam walk up and angrily pick up the phone that it looks staged, but knowing Adam it's definitely not.
It's actually from a random video on tested, I swear I've seen it before 😂
I wish Adam would start his immediate series again. It's like he's the only person on earth with his skillset and experience who's an extrovert and that coupled with his artistic soul just made for the best interviews ever
Loved this BTS style talk about making videos about your passion. 👌
Its hilarious how many things in common Adam and I have…. Sortimo.. my favorite. And the Wagos…. Love those things.
Absolutely loving this tour!! THANK YOU !!!
man what a likable guy. adam is cool too
The first time Gerald has been outclassed by his "guest"
I personally LOVE that sound Adam. No complaint from this tested member!
I’ve loved Tested for years! This is so great to see! Thanks Gerald! Love these studio tours!
I love how he is a creator in his tool box and not a videographer showing his creation.
19:00 nails it perfectly why you are a awesome person Adam and why everybody loves you and your passion behind it. Have a great day.
THANK YOU!!! I’ve wondered (and inquired) about the Tested filming workflow for years - ever since COVID - so this video is scratching one of my biggest filmmaking itches! You rock.
Best ever studio visit. Adam is so full of enthusiasm and the workshop is brilliant
adam's workshops aesthetic is something else
At points it felt like Adam out-nerded my favorite nerd! Great video.
I LOVE the sound of the creeky lights and camera rig. One of my favorite things
I could live in that space. Forever.
Tested is my regular go to channel...One or Two videos a day and always great. Adam is such a great person and frankly is my teacher and gateway to making. Thanks Adam!
Love this so much! Two of my fav channels meeting up! I could watch that all day.
It's bizarre to see Adam's shop in 4k and not iphone front-cam 😅
EXCELLENT! I love this series and I love where you're going with the channel!
Adam really gets the ideal of "selling" a shot. He's using a mobile phone camera and mic as a special effect, to sell the idea that you are the fly on the wall in his cave. Actually visiting him. It makes it feel more real. I do a lot of yarncrafts and one thing I've noticed is that if your work is too polished, too perfect, people think a machine made it. Things have to look a bit imperfect or they don't look real.
Loved the tour! So enjoyable to explore more of the cave with Adam
This was amazing. Really well done thanks for sharing this!
Treat of the year. Bloody wonderful. Thank you. ❤🙏
I feel like this needed another 22 mins. Need to see more movie props and figurines!
"Our operation here is less about looking perfect but more about being intimate". "Interesting, so is the phone you are using..." 😂😂😂
Gotta love @geraldundone upstaging Adam as he explains storytelling in a single tableau. 😂 16:23 "...some dumb thing first."
I love people like Adam, thank you guys LOVE THIS
Two of my favorite channels in one.
Dude, these are getting really good. Keep it up.
I love these. Someday I hope to get a purple star.
Thanks for this video. Loved it!
Subbed! Haven't seen this channel before, but I'm a big big fan of Tested, Mythbusters, and literally everything else Adam has done! Thanks for producing this. He's so entertaining and inspiring when he's in his element.
thank you Adam at his best
Very cool, loved this episode. Adam played a huge part in my late childhood/early adulthood. Love him.
I'm currently working toward a BFA in Graphic Design at a tech school (I really like the program) and STEM kids constantly joke about how I'll never get a good job, make enough money to support myself, etc. To finally hear someone, especially Adam Savage, speak highly about it and appreciate its usefulness made my day. Thank you, Adam
Hahah this is amazing, so excited but also about different things, Adam with his little bit bobs, Gerald with the cinematics, amazing vid.
This was amazing. What a great studio tour!
I love the sound of the camera mount! It makes it more real to me.
This is so good, y'all did an amazing job on this. What a golden opportunity!
Wonderful, inspiring... not sure what other words to use. For sure, it's lesson learnt on how to control chaos withing the work space! Great stuff!
That last "interesting tools" segment coulda went on for hours in Adam's cave haha. Great video.
Hearing Adam’s philosophy on filming is pretty incredible. Love to hear the justification and intent behind the simple setup.
This did NOT disappoint! Two of my favorite CZcamsrs. Well done!
Thats the cutest clamp ive ever seen :0
I watch tested with the interesting things that they have covered.
One thing I have gleamed above all is, if you have an appointment then Adam is the last person you should have a chat with if you hope to make it to the appointment.
His enthusiasm and real world examples are so interesting, I'm sure he could spend 30+ minutes describing the simple act of drinking a cup of coffee.
I adore Adam so much... this was wonderful.
What an incredible man and shop. Simply amazing!
Adam is the maker GOAT - I fell into the magic potion around a year ago and now I'm watching every video he puts out ❤
What an amazing episode! Well done!
Now that was fun... I've always admired Adam's positivity.
Utterly delightful
Glad you got to meet Adam.
Awesome interview. Btw he has world class props... Just love that guy. So creative and positive and up beat.
Mythbusters was an event for me back in the day, didn't miss an episode. Loved watching this!
One of my favorite collabs in history. Thank you gentlemen 🙏🏽
Two of my favorite channels in one! Too cool!
As a loyal Tested subscriber and lifelong Savage fan I cannot click like often enough. What an amazing behind the scenes look. Also I did not realize how big Gerald is...having met Adam once for perspective lol
One of the good things to come out of Covid. Love the format of the tested channel now.
Wow! Just.. wow
Possibly my favorite video on the internet. Thank you
Two of my favorite channels in one video!
That's interesting that Adam Savage prefers shooting on iPhone purely because of workflow.
I love masters at work, “talk” about their mastery in whatever respect it’s in.
i love this channel because it's an interview but with a tour sprinkled in
