      I don't even find Monaco boring tbh. The track is fucking metal and there's always some degree of carnage. And while there are barely any overtakes it's still sort of entertaining because of that.
      Other tracks are MUCH more boring to watch.

      Well actually Montmelò is the perfect compromise if you want a track near to the teams headquarters (for Middle East tracks you have to do expensive travels), a track where is enough warm on winter (except for this year's snowfall) and a quite technical and well mixed circuit with long straights, fast and slow corners.

  • @timowilms8102
    @timowilms8102 Před 6 lety +39

    Max wasn't wrong when he got in the back of stroll, you expect from the best drivers in the world that they react at least whit in one second, Stroll was just sleeping!
    It's comparable with expecting drivers in F1 to break late, if a F1driver breaks way to early what makes you crash into the back it's also not your fault.
    Max had a clean good race and it irritates me that even when he does good he will get hate for the smallest things.
    I mean let's be honest, if Max would have spunned under the vsc like Ricciardo did everybody would talk about how shit he is and call him the new Maldonado.
    Because Ricciardo isn't that young, and a very likable guy nobody cares...

    • @inflatable2
      @inflatable2 Před 6 lety +7

      Just let them talk.. Max also could not care less what people on the outside say about him.. In fact, it's actually a good thing people talk a lot about him, because it means he gets attention.. Nobody cared about Ricciardo spinning because nobody even saw or noticed it, Daniel drove another nobody race where Max had lots of screen time again..
      Shame they were held up by Raikonnen in the beginning and then Stroll during the VSC.. Red Bull (Max Verstappen) was faster then Ferrari this race and probably even had the pace to attack at least Bottas.. Cannot wait for Monaco..

    • @nathanconstable6833

      @NeweyAdrian1 Před 6 lety +4

      @ nathan then Daniel was sleeping in baku aswell, but no Max gets the blame for that aswell
      F1 fans are pathetic really, cant just handle the fact that Max is fast and will be the new great driver. Trying to bring him down with cricits, Thank god Max just doesnt give a shit.

    • @mxm_prime2191
      @mxm_prime2191 Před 6 lety +2

      Speaking of Ricciardo: This so called super driver that is easily better than Verstappen says on the team radio that he thinks he has more pace than Max, hoping they might let him through, but he knows just as well as the team that Max was being held up by Kimi at that point. Then after they both cleared Kimi Max just drove away from Daniel slowly but surely. In the end the difference was 35 seconds on practically the same strategy and with a VSC period in it too! Even with a partly broken front wing which no doubt had some impact on his pace he still pulled away from him.... Ricciardo got absolutely schooled by Max this race, now that he didn't have a 9999 mile long straight to slipstream and drs him
      ...

      The thing is: These front wings are constantly getting more and more complex. They keep adding and adding and adding parts. There's at least 200 aerodynamic elements and details on each given wing. Their budget only allows for the current wings to be improved and just slapping a few new parts on or changing minor details is a lot more cost productive than literally starting from scratch and kicking parts out. That'd be a step back only to make a big step forward again. Sounds weird but that is what teams try to avoid.

    1-Valencia except 2012 had more boring races
    2-The circuit is abandonned because of economical problems (basically corruption) so there's not even a chance of getting back
    3- Barcelona is a great circuit the problem is the dirty air
    4-Japan, Australia, Monaco and Hungary are boring aswell, we drop them too?

      The old sector 3 layout would destroy the following car aerodynamics because two fast corners produce maximum dirty air.

    • @MarkoPejic14
      @MarkoPejic14 Před 6 lety +4

      It would actually be worse with the old layout, because faster corners equal more downforce at the time of passing through the corner and that produces more dirty air - not just a little bit more but squared to the velocity - so that wouldn't really solve the overtaking problem; even though the last sector would be restored to old greatness :)

    • @majikku-chan
      @majikku-chan Před 6 lety

      Marko-13000 Huh, is that so? How is it working in Monza then, after the rather fast Parabolica? Or in Spa, after Eau Rouge. It even works on the Hangar Straight in Silverstone, after exiting Chapel.
      You have a lot more problems overtaking on a straight, when the corner prior was very slow, i.e. the straight in Austria after Turn 3, Suzuka's finish straight, or the very one in Barcelona.

    • @alexanderpracht1400
      @alexanderpracht1400 Před 6 lety +2

      Legendäres Item aus Pandora
      The parabolica is a high speed corner with only braking zone. The old sector 3 has two high speed right handers.
      Eau Rouge is always a full throttle combination.
      The problem for the barcelona chicane is that there is only one racing line and you can bring yourself into posizion for an overtake.

    I'm surprised no one picked up on the fact that one of the reasons that probably contributed to Ricciardo setting fastest laps towards the end of the race was that the track was being properly rubbered in throughout the race duration. It rained that morning, so the track was somewhat green at the start of the day. As more and more running was done through the support races, and then the main race going on, the track gripped up and got faster off-setting the fact that Ricciardo's tyres were worn. I can't speak for the times that the other drivers were doing as I didn't have any live timing up or anything to monitor them, so only saw the lap times coming up on the feed, but Danny Ric was out in pretty clear air I believe on his own, and possibly chasing the DHL fastest lap award so he could get at least something out of the race as he was so far behind the cars infront after his spin.

    For the verstappen/stroll incident, when you look at the replay, when max hits Lance, you can clearly see that the light is still flashing yellow and it comes green right after that. So maybe red bull told max that the vsc was ending so he picked up the pace and williams didn't told stroll so that's why he reacted so late. Anyway that's my guess

      The drivers get flashing green dots on their steering wheel before the lights beside the track turn green, and the visuals on TV. The dots on the steering wheel mean that the VSC is to his end, and you can start picking up the pace.

    • @lucaskman1844
      @lucaskman1844 Před 6 lety

      And Stroll was not driving the pace you should be as Verstappen lost 5 seconds on Bottas as he was behind Stroll the whole time.

    • @valixcis
      @valixcis Před 6 lety

      Lucas Kman, I'm not talking about pace under VSC or who is at fault for that incident, just about the restart, and you said almost same thing, that flashing dots on steering wheel means VSC is ending. Now, in my personal opinion, I don't fully agree with "can start picking up the pace" part, I think it's to get ready for restart, like you get red lights at the start before they go out. But I'll have to do some more research about it, thanks for your comment :)

    The VSC loop hole were the driver can go full speed on pit entry and pit exit doesn't really change the fact that making a 20 second pitstop whilst the other drivers are going 40% slower is still going to gain you time so i dont really understand Vettel's complaint on that one!

    Of course it isn't a great track for racing! It was designed for motorcycles. Seems like the MotoGP is having a blast there.
    On that Vettel pitstop: Merc actually played Ferrari that time. Once the VSC was deployed they got their mechanics all set for a pitstop, they even had the tires out. Immediately after, Ferrari pulled Vettel in. I don't buy that whole "the tires were done thing". Bottas only pitted a handful of laps after Seb.
    Edit: Monaco will be awesome. With Grosjean in a mood to spin, that race weekend will probably be a remake of that one time he buried his car in the barriers every session during his stint at Lotus.

    I really don't agree on removing the chicane. You complained about Mercedes running away but that is because they have a faster car on straights. If the backfield wants to compete they have to make their car very fast in the corners. When you remove the chicane you remove all slow corners in wich for example RedBull and more backfield teams slow corners are their strength. If you remove the chicane Mercedes would just run away more quickly, not making the race more interesting...
