I think it may be legally classified as a wild animal. Not sure, not a lawyer, just heard that animals can be classified that way regardless if one chooses to domesticate it. For example, if you have a pet tiger ( Siegfried and Roy are a famous example. It happens) it will still be classified as a wild animal. Yes, I know that the example is extreme but im just looking to get a point across. Though I find it odd that a llama would get that classification because it is more like cattle. Wool and milk and what not.

@@warlink4 no it wasn't classified as a wild animal if it is raised in a domestic environment from the young age that they started taking care of it makes it a domesticated animal

25 years ago when my cousins moved to live in America, one thing they noticed and told me and warned me is how often and randomly and ridiculously americans sue each other. This judge seems like always will give away money which made me understand the American suing culture!!

As someone who spent a lifetime around large farm animals, I will say this: never trust that they won't react. Never 100% trust any animal for that matter. However: there are a few things you do NOT do to any animal: waving your hands in their face, snapping or acting in ways that the animal may consider threatening is a VERY big one. She admitted over and over that she waved her hand in the animal's face and I believe them when they said she was snapping. I doubt she even remembers clearly what happened in that exact moment. I know because I've had animals MUCH larger than a llama react suddenly and I've been hurt before. I had teeth broken and my nose busted when my own horse reared suddenly because a stable hand decided to walk around a corner carrying a garbage can on his head with branches waving out the top. My horse perceives that as a threat... clearly. She reacted by instinct. Llamas (like horses) are prey animals. They have two primary instincts: Fight or flee and prey animals will always choose to flee if possible and only choose fight if fleeing is impossible (or if they are a momma with a baby to protect). That llama responded the same way any animal would. As someone who OWNS A FARM: we do NOT let people in with the animals and warn them very strongly that we use electric fences and to keep their distance. It's a matter of safety. Even a chicken can hurt someone.
It was her fault, i have a farm, with pigs, horses, cows and chickens, you don't go up to an unknown animal and start snapping and yelling to get the attention. Especially when there are so many people around.

Yup, her arm's, hands and shoulders would be affected. I have 7 herniated disc from T10-L4 and it's caused pain from my ribs to my feet. I have 1 herniated disc in my neck and have little pain from that. My hands go numb once in a while but nowhere near what she is acting out 😄
Lynn Pech Torres I have spinal issues and I’m an Rn and I call BS any back problems she has she had well before that recent fall and I’d bet she also has ankle feet and knee pain as well but from her unhealthy weight load! She got what she had coming to her if you act a fool around wild animals you get what you have coming to you!

And the attorney saying that the farm animal, after being raised by these people is a wild animal instead of a domesticated animal is a harsh joke that anyone who works on or owns a farm that has animals on it has the right to be angry about it.
I went to an agricultural college and had all different types of animals (ranging from dogs and cats to the smaller farm animals of goats, sheep, chickens and pigs all the way to horses and cows) everyone who went to the college was told to be absolutely respectful to all the animals at all times.
I was raised on a farm and still have a farm. Animals deserve respect also.

The plaintiff is at fault for her injuries, anyone with a brain would know if you are near a wild animal like this llamas you would listen to the owners advice about what you can and can not do near a animal they own, I believe she got hurt because she was negligent and she is responsible for her own mistake.

Exactly. By law, animal holders are held a big responsibility. Llamas are technically deemed wild, just like mountain goats. Plaintiff is also at fault, but the llama owners are 51% only because of the liability they're posing, and they didn't have signs or actual physical warnings. Plus, the picture showed Mabel without a harness nor anything to show the owners were right by her side.
C1 and C2 are just below the skull. This injury may affect the nerves to the arms and hands... she pointed to her lumbar spine (lower back) and talked out symptoms that have nothing to do with C1 or C2....
Very disappointed in settlement for this case. Shes an adult with a child and knows the risk of being around any animal
She percieved the risk wrong and bankrupted a family for her poor parenting skills.
This is why exactly why i refuse to celebrate my own kids which i have 4 at our own home. I always go to an establishment for fear of poor judgement
