@@tapi0ka435 Well there were also a bunch of loose ends from previous seasons that needed resolving, remember how excited people were when season 2 revealed Kenny was still alive instead of dead like season 1 made you think he was, there's also Lilly from the same season who's fate was up in the air all the way until season 5 when you also find her still alive but as much as an asshole as she was in season 1 which probably made it not hard for people to put a bullet between her eyes.

I don't hate her, I actually liked her as a character, she was interesting. But I cannot understand how she could've ever thought it was a good idea to try and hook up with her husband's brother and even make it official. Especially when everything's already going downhill. I think they just needed a character to act stupid to have it all escalate even more for the story.

Only situation I believe that Lily was pretty much looking out for herself, and her father.
Larry was her dad, and she clearly loved him. She'd defend him despite knowing he was a total asshole to everyone. She fought to keep him safe with her. But when Larry died in the Cannibal's farm. She began to lose trust in everyone. Especially Kenny. She was callous, but she was paranoid of others. She's already seen people die.
Lily's betrayal changes with whom you save. Lily deliberately kills Carley due to having real bad blood with her since the beginning. Notice if you are sweet to Carley as Lee, she shoots eyes at you both. when she kills Carley she has no remorse for the choice she made.
But when she kills Doug, she's left with shock with what she has done. Doug never made any enemies of the group, and was extremely selfless. He even gave his life when Lily tried to kill Ben. She didn't aim to kill someone who never did her any wrong.
Lily's betrayal stems from stress, grief, and paranoia. And whether you take her with you and she steals the Rv. Or you leave her behind on her own. Lily's choices brought it upon herself. Her betrayal was something many people saw coming.

I think the best ending resonates with different people. I personally thought the ending of Javi, Kate, and Gabe surviving is the best ending for them. In my eyes, and the biggest lesson of this game is that those you call family are the only ones you aim to protect. And it's not easy to see how each ending can be really harsh.
I loved this ending because of a few things.
- Javi and Kate have a romantic relationship. It's no secret the two have a fling going on. Kate has a horrid relationship with David, she wants an escape and entertained that Kate and Javi would leave when he has the chance. She could have left any time, but I believe her relationship with Javi is what made her remain. Eventually coming to a point.
Javi and Kate also took on Mariana and Gabriel as their own. Javi was no father, nor Kate their real mother to them. But they did their damn best to protect them for several years. Rather impressively too as just a group of four. To me, that was his real family there. The ones Javi protected and loved over several years. A family isn't just blood in a world like that. It's the ties and trust you gain with the,
- Gabe survives and learns a harsh lesson from his father. Gabe wanted to be like his father as a child. He lived by what he remembered, and when he had a chance to know him, he saw the man who wasn't anything he pictured. It's a rough lesson as he also needed to kill David on his own. He also comes to realize that Javi was a better father to him than David merely from the protection and care. Depending on your choices also allowing him to become self reliant.
- Clementine gains a new family. People don't really realize that Clementine gained new people she can trust. A place to return back to. And even more so, someone who can help her raise AJ. She has a crush on Gabe, has a special trust with Javi, and also has a womanly role to speak with as she begins to mature (remember she hits her period in this season.) A little bit of everything to come back to.

So throughout this season, the choices you make affect the survival of Conrad, Kate, Gabe and Lingard. I'm glad Telltale is putting more effort into what most gamers complained about the most, but I hope they'll do better in the next season.

I do felt shitty for not choosing to save David, the brother and blood relative. but the only reason I feel choosing Kate is justified is because David is beyond saving. He can't ever be normal and will be a danger to everyone around him. He said it himself. He's not a father and a husband, he's a soldier. Even Kate said in the ending that David would have much preferred to die on the battlefield. He talks about it everyday like people talk about weather. He talks about his military funeral like people about their retirement plans. Also, if you choose to save David, he still won't follow you back. Kate is the character that needs to be saved because she actually wants a future. Saving David will be like saving Jane in season 2 where she will just commit suicide. Also, I dont know why people say David will do anything to protect his family. He literally abandoned half his family to leave with Gabe. How is getting separated from the group and drive into a thousands of walkers safer than killing a few walkers and barricading the breach? If Clem follow you to save Kate both David and Gabe would have died. Gabe died within 20 minutes with David while Javi pretty much kept the whole family save for years. David is not like Kenny. Kenny was willing to let Clem and AJ go to Wellington and David will bring his whole family to hell if his pride allows it which it always does. The only way saving David can be rewarding is if he's a changed man in season 4. Kenny was beyond saving in season 2 too but hes an angel in season 3 and at the end of season 2.
David comes back with you if you save him. You have to plead with him to come back.

The scene with their dad is pretty sad. In a way, I think I understand from his perspective.
You're sick, and to undergo so many treatments, the high expenses, the pain, the feeling of anxiety would be too much. But also from Javi and David's perspective is that you don't just quit so easily unless there's no options. So both are strong reasons, because in the end nature does take hold, but at least live long enough to watch your family grow; just a little while longer even.

Idk why people hating Kate, she hasn't done anything wrong. Her marriage with David turned south way before this happens, and it has been many years since he's out of the picture. Even if David was still around, I doubt it would be any different.
I don't hate Kate or David, in fact I kinda like both of them, because they're very well described. David, a man who always wants something big, like a super hero character, in the end, just wants to selfishly save his family. Kate, a woman who always selfishly thinks about her own happiness, in the end, she wants to do the right things and even accepts to sacrifice herself to make things right. Both of them are lovable.
P.S: Though I must say, I kinda guessed right when they both have contradicted opinions, Gabe would go with David. All because the story would be in an awkward state if he didn't since David wouldn't have any reason to leave at all. Remember though, David said he wanted to save his family, but in the end he was fine with going away with just Gabe, leaving his ex-wife and brother behind. So, I kinda like Kate more for that.

The story with Kate is very similar to Lori from the shows walking dead, except that Lori never had any feelings for Shane before the world ended. And Lori was loyal, if the world is ending and thought her husband died, that doesn’t make her disloyal, and it wouldn’t make sense for her to get mad at Shane once she found out rick was alive.

I'm pretty sure the best ending was not dating Kate, telling David you both thought he was dead, kept saying I love you choice, and then going after him with Clem. That way David and Gabe live. David walks away but ends up returning at the end. I always figured that went hand in hand with not fighting back to keep their father's promise of being brothers.

This is the exact same ending I've got for playing this game for my first time, I didn't know whether my choices were correct or not, and I don't if I can save everyone or someone is just destined to die or not, but I did try my best and I did have a pretty good relationship with my brother before he died, so I'm super satisfied with that, I didn't fight him during that moment. Plus a lot of characters lived too, this game is awesome in my book, cause your choices do matter since Conrad could've died 3 chapters ago IIRC!
I would totally watch someone else play this game again and get a totally different ending.

By far, this is the best ending I've ever seen. I sadly never played the game or any seasons but when David dies you get to rebuild Richmond and survive and help people. You become practically a savior of everyone. That is good. Plus majority of the characters are still alive. :) Great ending, keep it going father! =D Long live the Institute!

Yeah if you don't shoot him. But Conrad can die anytime later in the game. Like during the part when Kate was driving the car, Conrad will push Javi out of the way and die if the player fails to move out of the way.

I finished season 3 today and I probably got the worst ending possible = David's dead, Kate's missing. At least Gabe is alive. 😂

That definitely WAS the best ending, got it myself too and I am so glad to get Kate in the end, wanted to be with her right from the start (she IS as beautiful as Eleanor and Javier knows her and relies on her way longer) and but I wouldn't have tried anything before she explained her point of view concerning David. She had very good reasons to abandon David and stay with Javier. So for me it's by far the best possible ending even though Javier lost his brother. Clearly the saddest and most frustrating part for me was to loose Mariana.
