Depending on your choices, the game can throw a few curve balls at you for this choice in the form of Clementine; she's kinda the catalyst. In my play through, Clem decided she would go help Gabe no matter what, leaving me truly stuck in the middle; some games, like the first choice, are an example of the sort of "all or nothing" type of thing. All three of them decided to save Richmond, leaving Gabe and David alone. If only Telltale did more stuff like this, instead of giving us the illusion of choice...
Yea I replayed it the other day and got a different ending than usually wild shit
Yeah I think they handled the endings that way cuz they knew that we wouldn't see Javi and his family in the next games, so they wanted to give different endings, but I think they did it only cuz then they wouldn't have to worry about connecting all those endings to the next season's plot. Like for example s2 endings didn't matter much for how the story progressed, just some Clem's character changes
The biggest lie they tell us is *”this story adapts to the choices you make”* like bruh fuck no they dont i sided and supported david all the way because Bros before Hoes and he still treated me like a bad guy who didnt take his side then i kill him by choosing to go after him the game is stupid and rigged i woulda went with kate if i knew he would survive
I didn’t really like that the flashbacks determined who she would go with, since you have no idea what they determine. The best Telltale choices are those where you know what choice you are actually making, and where they have an impact on the story. If you don’t even know you’re making a choice, you won’t stop and think “did I do the right thing?”
Meanwhile Clem was on my side during my playthrough. What I pick, she picks. She trusted me to go and open up a walker and smear it's guts on me. I saved her from Conrad's plan. And in a lot of cases I picked what I would do. Not Javi. I went with my family and left her alone with Mariana. The only choice I regretted

While I liked the complexity of David's character and in trying to keep a somewhat decent relationship with him, he seriously was just exhausting. Nothing he said or did had any real consistency, and when a full grown man gets bent out of shape over you being better than him in the batting cages (when you were the one with a baseball career), you know you're dealing with a man-child

David was a straight up asshole who lusted after that military life again & tried to reenact it during the apocalypse. He was like that until the very end when you reach one of his endings here.

4. Clem stays with Kate and you go after Gabe and David, Gabe lives and David dies and Kate is missing/dead.

After replaying Season 3 on my Switch, David was not really a bad guy and was a good character, I always sided with him (I did fight him in the garage) and I told him to come back to Richmond after Kate’s death

Clementine said she will go with me wherever i choose to go. After i saved Gabe and David i told David to come back to Richmond. He says no but ends up coming back anyway. However I dont think he talks to Gabe and Javi after Kate's death. So to break it down I think you need to have Clem and Javi immediately both go after Gabe to have him alive

When David said “we’re in a war that will never end”. I was sad, because the love that this family had, will never see light again. David and javi will never understand each other. And it’s because Kate decided to be a jackass.
She decides to be jackass because her ex-husband verbally abuses her and always had argument which makes her unhappy with her marriage and begin to uncomfortable towards David. Even David stated to Javi that he and Kate fight like cats and dogs and he be better off with the army and want to toss that responsibility to his brother and then David abandoned his family during the apocalypse and never went back to look for them again but yet has the time to built a community with the New Frontiers. No wonder why Kate wants to be with the main character even more than she is with David

It's not in this video, but there's a secret ending where if u went to save David and gabe, Clem goes with u and u have a good relationship with David , when u find Kate dead in Richmond, David will come back and see her also glance at Javi.
The better ending is to save 2 people, so Gabe and Kate or Gabe and David are your best options. You have to picture yourself as Javi, think about people, family and everything else that happened in your life, and what tough decisions are best. That’s why this game series is so good. I personally chose to save Gabe and Kate and I think it’s the best ending. Under all these circumstances, losing a soulmate like Kate is worse than losing a brother like David, because I love my brother to death, but I need to stay with the family I’ve had the past couple of years and since I haven’t seen my brother since then, I could accept his death. Of course if you didn’t feel a deep connection with Kate and didn’t love her, then she isn’t your soulmate and the smarter option would be to save your brother.
You’re take is perfectly valid. I personally choose blood. David was an asshole and by probably wouldn’t have saved Javi the way Javi can save him, but he’s still your brother. I grew up to cherish no connection over that one.
I do find Javis independence from his brother admirable. He’s not totally broken up or crying over him like I would have. If he doesn’t need David, maybe he should choose his girl.

He did abandoned them and when he and Javi have a conversation of why David could not return for them David only stated "i couldn't go back to Baltimore so i hooked up with my old unit" which is the point ? What is the real reason of David cannot return to his family ? At least have some kind of *real* explanations like "was he surrounded by lots of hordes and so that's the reasons he couldn't return to his family ?" That would have been way better of his reasons of couldn't go back to Baltimore and i would understanding towards them but instead "oh i couldn't go back to Baltimore so i could build community and spending my time with my old pals from the army" which is really bad plot writing and really dumb excuses.
Even though David. Was a jerk throughout the whole game, seeing him die was pretty heart breaking.

I didn't even know it was possible for David to live!? That's crazy! It seemed so set in stone that he would die. Yet, seems as though the final season is just completely disregarding this one. I haven't played or watched it yet but from what I've heard, it seems to make this season pretty irrelevant.

I wonder how the characters reacted after the deaths of these people. For example, David might've only shut the gate out of anger. He probably wasn't thinking, and now three people are dead because of him. I'd suspect Gabe would forever hate David because he killed his crush, step-mother, and uncle all in one day. Or if Javi died, what would happen after we see the 'You're DEAD' screen? Would everyone crowd around him and cry? I personally think this would be a really nice feature if it was added, but it can't be, because Telltale is dead.

I always come back to this game every year and a half or so, kind of an odd time 😂 but I love this game a lot, the plot and character development is just awesome. Only reason this season is the worst COMPARED to other 3 is literally ONLY because it’s not clementine story, she isn’t the main character. It’s still an amazing season. I honestly enjoyed this more than the final series tbh, it holds a special place in my heart.

Season 3's ending never sat well with me, on one hand you have the dynamic between Javi and David that's the emotional center of the whole season, but on the other hand it feels irresponsible to not help save richmond whish is clearly the bigger fish to fry, especially if clementine is already going to save gabe. It's like there's no satisfying middle, you have to miss the climax of the internal conflict or the external conflict.

Another thing I really wished was that you have options to make Clem go with you or without you in the final scene, instead of determining that throughout the choices of the previous episodes.
