      Heck yes man.
      I come from the mk1/2 crowd , so these newfangled mk4s are a mystery to me.
      Im learning on one by stripping it for a donor, and I'll keep in mind all my oops I did the first time.
      As I was taking out the interior, I was on here like every 5 minutes🤣
      Its way better than a manual!

    Bro, you saved my ass! I just didn't know how to change my middle console because of broken plastic clips and I wasn't able to release the two Torx screws underneath the cup holder without getting it out of there but I had no clue how to do this... Now I know! Thanks!

    Just curious if you had any footage of removing the column piece surrounding the shifter.. I want to clean mine up like you did to the door control area to get that black rubbery substance off.

    Hi, I've actually spotted somethig you've missed - which I didn't expect to - perhaps it's something you could add if you get any time to edit. I'm doing this job today and have found that the pair of screws to (UK) driver's side are a bit unusual and awkward to remove. They slide on sideways and clip into place, which is great for factory assembly but pretty fiddly for us DIYers. I don't yet have to solution but I suspect it's a push down and unclip some metal tails affair. Thanks again for your videos, very helpful and always enjoy your videos; really helped me this last couple of years.

    Hey, my center console looks a little bit different. It has a cupholder that is mounted on gears and does not recess. How do i get the center console off? I took the cupholder off, but theres no or t20 screws visible underneath.

    • @mikejames3263
      @mikejames3263 Před 7 lety

      The cupholder part is 1j0861989. I can't upload a photo to show you guys what exactly I'm talking about.

      @MegaToxic3 Před 7 lety

      the little track its on is its own piece. its a square and you just have to pop it up on all 4 corners and pull it out. i only know this because my cup holder wouldnt fit right and its because one of those corners were popped up.

    Didn't have to remove the ashtray, could have just taken out the little cup to get to the screws

    • @TheJomeister
      @TheJomeister Před 4 lety

      Yeah, but its easier if the ashtray is completely removed when you put the screws back in.

  • @ericswink4342
    @ericswink4342 Před 8 lety +1

    That side bracket is no where near that easy to take off either being a brand new one or the original off my 2001. I've seen other reviews that show it. Sing that easy. I actually went out and bought the trim removal tools for this job specially. After 2 hours I completely broke everything on the inside that held this thing together and yet it still didn't move.
