2 Speed Transmission Setup in 1/10 RC Crawler

- Hi Everyone,
In this video I show off my new 2 speed transmission setup for my 1/10 RC Crawler. I have been experimenting on the FTX Mauler for a long time now. Installing this 2 speed upgrade took a look of late night brainstorming and experimentations until I could it get it to work satisfactorily. Hope this helps out others who want to do this conversion. Apart from this you will need some basic tools and a servo (micro in my case) to shift the gears. Also you will need atleast a 3rd or 4th channel on your receiver with a 3 point(on-neutral-off) toggle switch on your transmitter.

What will fit for my rgt 136100 v3?
Hi buddy. Thanks for the question. I will try to answer the best I can but of course it will be an experiment so bear in mind there is a chance it might not work out. I checked out the rgt model and seems like the RC4WD 2 speed would work on it too. Try to order it from somewhere you can return it in case it doesn't fit. It cost me around 60 70 dollars plus the servo for gear shifting. which was not included in the kit. You would also need to make sure you have a spare channel on your receiver that you can use for controlling the 2 speed servo or buy a new reciever and transmitter(DumboRC X6 combo is best). Make sure you keep in mind all these costs. Also the the spur gear has a 32DP teeth size so you need to have a pinion that matches the spur gear teeth size. Hi Jim, this was me beginning to make videos on CZcams a year ago, must say my video shooting and editing skills were not great. In this video it was me testing the RC4WD AX 2 speed setup on my FTX Mauler. I wanted to show how I had set it up and then the difference in driving characteristics between the first and second gear. Do you have any questions on the setup?
