The true story of this video is that Kamikoto reached out to me at about the same time as Tim Greenwood (Turgworks) released his scrapwood buildoff, so I just put 2 and 2 together and made a scrap wood project that also would fit a video with the awesome knives. The competition is still open to anyone in the world, so go build something and publish it on CZcams or Instagram with the hashtag #scrapwoodbuildoff. And no, the prizes only go to residents in the U.K. but you can participate and have fun and build your woodworking network from anywhere.
This competition got me started making the pallet blocks coffee table, and man, if I didn’t make that, I would not have been where I am today. Which is a beginner woodworker making questionable projects. Thank you all for your support.
I have been able to get a good amount of tools in my shop over the last year. I’m not a full time woodworker, and because I also have another job that supports my cost of living, I’m able to put everything I make from the woodworking back as investments in tools in my shop. It has been all hard work, but you’re welcome to make a comment about how fortunate I am to have a shop full of woodworking tools that magically have appeared overnight. But just know that I take care of a dayjob, work in the workshop in the evenings and edit videos for CZcams many nights.

Thanks Jay, I will. And likewise!
Wait, what comedy?

I agree I love his content!

Just found your channel. I'm always amazed by the difference between workshops around the world. On all the American channels you see workshops with 10,000s dollars' worth of equipment, whereas elsewhere, they're more like sheds with non-premium tools and hacks. Love the surfacing jig you created and shamelessly will steal that idea. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Oh, and your sponsorship was very refreshing, creatively produced and came across as very "non-adverty".
Absolutely go ahead and steal all you can. I'm learning so much from watching other people do stuff.
You realize how expensive his festool collection is let alone that bandsaw? And here in America when you make content with ryobi or anything else besides festool you are considered a joke even if you out work the festool Boyz.

Your choice of music and narrating style is something I could not find across many ... many woodworking youtubers from all over the world. Thanks for this unusual and very entertaining take. I'm not a huge fan of epoxy but this gave me an idea for a couch table that wants to be build :-D
Thanks Kristian. With some many talented woodworking youtubers out there, I'm honored you picked me. Thanks
I'm in Houston, TX USA. Great job on the cutting board!!
I just happen upon some really nice scrap wood donated by a long-time wood worker who is retiring. That wood will make a fine board. Thank you for helping me come up with ideas.
Hey there! Stumbling upon a treasure trove of quality scrap wood sounds like hitting the jackpot, especially from a seasoned woodworker. I'm sure that wood has a lot of stories to tell. Can't wait to hear what kind of magic you create with it! Remember, a good dose of creativity, a sprinkle of passion, and a whole lot of coffee is the recipe for woodworking success. Keep us posted on how your cutting board turns out! Cheers! 🛠☕
@JesperMakes Thanks for your reply. That fellow created many custom tables for commercial use and other wall art that was amazing. I hit a jackpot, for sure! I bought a couple of old metal advertising signs from him that will go nice in a rustic wooden frame. I bought other tools and clamps as well. Can't have too many clamps!!
You are awesome you should win every competition, if I lived in Denmark I would purchase your furniture absolutely beautiful
Thanks so much for the kind words! If you can't buy my furniture, making your own is the next best thing.
Jesper, you do know that this is a whole 'different' level of woodworking video! Love your videos always and you're a winner every time!!
Hey Juliet, always great to see you in the comments. I'm really just trying to mask my beginner issues with editing and clownery 😂 but thanks for thinking so! Cheers many many times from Denmark. Take care
Hi Jesper! Commenting from Ontario, Canada. From a fellow woodworker I must say your passion and work are very admirable.
Thanks Dave, so great to hear from you. Happy building mate!
I know the pain with the router. Mine slipped, and dug into a piece I was using as a lid for outdoor furniture/storage combined. Internally cried.
Flipped the lid over, turned the dig-out into a spot for the hinge, can't see it, no worries.
Sweet build mate. New Sub.
Thanks man, so happy you solved it.
When the router slipped I almost cried for you!!! Great job mate, always love your work, those knives look great too! Awesome mate
Thanks Sam, I'm always stoked to see you here in the comments. How's everything with your woodworking and channel?
@@JesperMakes thank you mate :) I'm well, been busier than ever! Spent a lot of time in the garage and property, looking forward to turning some of the footage into watchable videos! Jesper!! Amazing video. Love the Rubio Monocoat. We’ll be using Rubio for our drawer fronts when we stain them in a few days.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you're a fan of Rubio Monocoat. It's definitely one of my favorite products to use when it comes to staining wood. I'm sure your drawer fronts will look great with it! Let me know how they turn out.

I think your cutting board turned out very nice!! I like the way you cut the log cookies to fit together. Jasper, you won that competition hands down, at least in our hearts you did. 👍🎉🎉👍🏆🏆🥇
Love your work. I can imagine it is quite difficult to do what you do but you make it look so easy.
Thanks for the kind words! Trust me, there's a lot of coffee and head-scratching that goes into making it look "easy." 😄 What's got you interested in woodworking? Got a project in mind? 🛠☕
@@JesperMakes I can imagine that. But i guess that is the reason it is do genius. Also like the humour and the editing. Hi Jesper, CZcams just discovered you to me, and I have enjoyed your videos so much! So much fun 😆, and very interesting. I love your accent and narration! Half of my family is Danish, and I've been there many times. You actually remind me of my ex-cousin-in-law, who had a place similar to yours with my cousin on Fyn. I realise, and it is obvious that you spend a lot of time and effort on your videos, but I definitely look forward to future videos 😊. Love from the UK.
The love and support for you is super nice. From another CZcamsr, that can mean a lot. I like the work and music choices. I hope there is a competition you can enter and put your skills back at it again. I don't doubt you, I doubt the geographical footprint and finding one you'll be able to enter. Then win it. Good luck, and hope to see it when it happens!
Thanks for the love and support, but I don't think I'll be entering any woodworking competitions anytime soon. I'm more of a "work in my garage and post videos on CZcams" kind of guy. Plus, I don't think the judges would appreciate my "technique" of using duct tape and hot glue to hold everything together. But hey, if you're into that sort of thing, be sure to subscribe to my channel!
You were already a winner in my book, Jesper!
Thanks Linda!
I had an asthma attack I laughed so hard at the ending, especially with the sign light goes out
Loved it

Let's see...take a ridiculously vast amount of time to make something that is in its way beautiful but also full of errors...taking all the journey with humour and self-deprication.
