Thanks I’m aware of that lol… it’s a compound turbo Cummins but can still be called a twin turbo. Twin turbo doesn’t necessarily have to mean that both turbos feed the intake. It can just indicate that it’s a dual turbo truck….
Twin turbo systems have their own exhaust manifold in most cases or are fed exhaust from the manifold in parallel. So I wouldn't call it twin but rather a dual turbo setup. But then again I like to call things what they are, not my fault people aren't educated enough to know the difference.

I’m a diesel mechanic and I know many that would just call it twins. Also no one says “dual turbos” lol. I do get where your coming from but it’s really not a big deal lol. Even some of the biggest names in the diesel community will refer to their compound turbo setups as twin turbos.

Twin turbo and compound turbo setups are different...one turbo feedsnthe other in a compound setup, on a twin setup each turbo feeds the intake.

Less people know what compounds are so it’s just easier to say twin turbo.
