- 2019 Ram 2500 HD Cummins is back with XL compound turbos + a hood stack! More mods get added and we test it all out. This diesel looks and sounds MEAN! Plus we cut a huge hole in the hood, lol.

This thing is SICK. Me and the FASS Fuel Systems team really enjoyed this one, great work guys.
Thank you!!
Soooooooooo nice to see a stacked, well-tuned truck
Agreed, thanks!
I have a 2020 Ram 3500 HO with the Aisin transmission and just installed the Fleece Cheetah turbo BUT this is what I truly need to do! It’s not too late, it’s only money! Nice clean truck! Excellent video! 👌🏼💯
Love the “da baby” duramax comment and picture. Awesome to see a man truck (8ft bed) used. All around an awesome truck.
For sure! Check out the newest video on it as well. It's a fun project.
Glad to see you finally recognize real power
Lol, makes me want to buy one.
@@matt13ross -- First of all, we can't ignore that these are monsters, and if installed properly, you can enjoy them for a long time. Don't forget that these tunes generate a lot of heat which should not be lost sight of under any circumstances.
Maintenance is strictly necessary and should never be handled carelessly. Never.
Engine oil, coolant, gearbox oil, diff, etc. deserve the best quality. Again cooling and lubrication are necessary.
If there is interest, you can delve into forums. Amsoil's API CJ-4 specifications are unsurpassable, superior, thermally stable, compression, cooling, etc.
Also here in Belgium there are driving around, a little less punch. But just as much driving pleasure. And with the current prices of fuel =).
@@TheCeki1982 WHAT
I love this 5th Cummins had a compound and the single turbo aka 2nd gen swap. I really like it.
These 19+ trucks are a great combo of engine, looks, and interior!
@@matt13ross Right, you've never heard about the 3.0 LM2 Duramax diesel on the half ton trucks or a SUV.
I actually really wanted one of those until I found out out there is no aftermarket support for them.
When it was super cold here in Montana, when I still had my 07 with the 5.9, I'd turn the cruise on and run it up 1500rpm to let it warm up. Cool to see the 5th Gen has that capability too.
Yup, had no idea the Cummins had that feature.
4th gen does as well
You have to do a mpg test. I'm so curious to what the mpg is!! Awesome truck!! Keep up the videos Alex!!
I’ll keep you guys updated. I think his average was around 17 before.
Yeah, with gas prices they way they are and shortages in the future, I think anything that will save fuel and make tires last is going to be what most people will be searching for.
Yeah that tan hoodie is fire. Also, sounded sweeeeet 👍
Tan hoodie is my favorite so far!
Nice truck ! Super clean
Love it! I have a 14' crew cab short bed Cummins same color. Now you have my wheels turning about some more upgrades on mine!
Can't have a Cummins without upgrades!
@@matt13ross An important upgrade is the thermal bypass for the transmission on a 68RFE or the Aisin. I bought the one from Revmax. It lowered my trans temp 30 degrees (not towing anything).
I haven't watch the temp gauge yet, I will check that out!
@@matt13ross Absolutely bud, I thought it was a crock of shit until I installed it lol! Have a good day and keep up the great content!
Thank you, will do!
Good vid. Not cheesy. Just facts. Keeps it up 👍🏼
Thanks, will do!
He's going to need a trans way before the airbags. I don't know who you have locally, but I would seriously look at Red horse motorsports. One of the top builders for the Ram. That's a nice clean ram.
Been researching transmissions. All over $10k, yikes!!
@@matt13ross Yep not cheap. But almost required for big power.
Yup, or nearly anything over stock.
My buddies running an Allison in his 4th gen with 600ish horse I believe but hasn't had a single problem. Hauling one out of a totaled duramax and buying an adapter would more than likely be the cheaper option but a built trans is the way to go
Second the trans first….that truck sounds like pure joy
Love the tape! A shop with a brain!
Haha, yup!
we need a full breakdown on this builld, this rig is amazing
Love it!.... what happens if it rains?
Sounds badass
Sure does!
I have this truck myself and really want to get the orange daytime running lights, where did you buy those from?
They are custom built headlights.
i agree, need another diesel!
Got my eye on the next gen Duramax when they get the new interiors!
Nice bro
Drills a hole in the hood, whips out a phone and loads a file..."Look at all the hard work we put in today!" Great work writing checks boys!
Thanks
ehy dont you guys give info for example where to buy this set up ive been wanting compounds turbos for my 2019 dodge ram 2500
He is gonna have to mount the 2nd battery some where other wise it’s going to keep having issues starting since it’s a new truck with all the extra electronics.
True story. Was hoping it wouldn't be too bad unless it was cold.
Good god the multiple 3 second brake stands and rollers that cut out after 30 feet were so frustrating with a rig capable of laying it down for a quarter mile. Please tell me when the trans is built you’ll do a Lavon Miller style rolling burnout and stay in it
😂 it was his first ever burnout
Sick truck, you guys are definitely from PA! Don't get that accent anywhere else! Lol.
Haha, yup sure are! We grew up in different parts though.
Looking to do the same to mine sounds great
Sounds perfect! Thought it would be obnoxious but it isn’t at all.
Sounds amazing. I’ve got a ‘20 3500 dually I want to do compounds on but kits are hard to find. EvilFab turned out to be a solid choice?
I assume he’s on a stock 68 and stock fuel?
Yea evil fab kit is awesome. And stock fuel and tranny for now
@@matt13ross is it a Aisin trans or 68rfe
@@Dylanbeam2 its a 68...aisin only comes in 3500 High Output trucks
You guys have a shop where I can get my truck hood stacked like yours?
Nice - need to run it on a dyno and get some numbers!!!
Needs proper tuning, fuel, and a tranny first!
I plan on doing a compound next on my lbz but I'm sitting at or over max rwhp that the stock allison can handle with transgo in it but I was planning on building that soon and before anymore power additions.
Yea tranny builds are a must, though expensive.
@@matt13ross Yea sir they are my 68 build was 11,000
Who’s your tuner
Yea brotha from a fellow 6.7 owner…. You’re gonna need a 1. built trans with all billet everything most likely a Revmax or a completely custom trans from a shop closer to you.
2. FASS or Airdog fuel system with a big pump.
The 68fre they put in from the factory can’t even handle the stock torque let alone a truck that’s been given more air, fuel, compounds, etc. The Cummins torque/power threshold in the modified newer 6.7 trucks is almost too much load for any trans besides probably a built Allison. I’ve had success with revmax but depending on the temp my truck still kicks like a horse on any tune. I’m pushing 720 hp 1450 tq with the economy tune and a built revmax. Truck gets 23 mpg highway with the FASS Titanium series. My next step is a billet valve body and all billet input/output shafts. With the prices of the brand new trucks like ours I might as well keep mine in tip top shape and love it to death.
Oh yea trans is badly needed next.
Warranty ran out might as well XD
Great job fellers. Quick question. Do you have any issues with rain? I really want to do this with my 2012 Ram 6.7 and that's my only concern.
No different than stock if you keep your foot out of it.
What size turbos did he go with on the Evil Fab kit? Looking at going with them for my truck also.
s464/s480
I would always hook up charger to bat when changing tunes that way seen people kill bat while it was tuning and trust me if that happens not fun and can really fuck shit up
Good idea, totally forgot about that. Luckily, it all worked out. Still need to add the 2nd battery back in though.
how is not lighting up the dash with issues?
Hope you got ARP head studs. Your priorities are jacked up if you think airbags are more important than Trans.
Head studs were done, yes. Trans is still holding up.
Heck yes!!!
Oooohhhh yea
Had the same problem with mine my tranny said I’ll see ya later when I did the first second gen swap on the fifth gen me and the dude with the red one were the first to do it ATS has a great stage 4 I used before I sold it
How long did your tranny last?
Are there only the 75 and 150 hp tune on ez lynk? Of course with the addition psi to the tranny?
No tranny tune yet. Will be getting custom engine tunes in the future.
was the DEF deleted ?
What's the wheel and tire setup? Nice job guys. My 5th gen is super quiet too.
Thanks! American Force 22X14s with Nittos. I'm struggling to remember the tire size, but around a 33.
That truck just became a pain in the butt to wash
😂 true story!
Do you guys have to worry about emissions testing where you live?
Idk if it’s normal but I always hook up a heavy duty battery pack while installing my 6.7 tune’s, especially from stock when needed.
And what does the exhaust break sound like?
I think the problem is these new 2019+ trucks just can't cope with only 1 battery. We're going to add the second battery back in at a different location.
And the exhaust brake no longer works with these turbos.
@@matt13ross
Right on, I didn’t know either of those things so thanks! 👍
Mine’s a 16 and they’re probably due to be replaced soon. I noticed the battery saver mode popping up which (long story short) was remedied by reinstalling all the tune’s and oddly putting my tuner in standby every time I shut the truck off.
Love your truck and color too.
Can't go wrong with a 19+ truck!
Okay so what’s the delete kit that’s used I’m trying to delete my fifth gen but have no clue where to look and what I fully need
We don't talk about the "D" word online anymore.....
what a bad ass truck.
next on the list... transmission lol
Absolutely! lol
@@matt13ross can you post a build list?
I love my Powerstroke but there’s just something magical about the sound of a Cummins. 🤌🏽 One thing I’ve always wondered about hood stack though, is do you have to worry about rain, snow, ice, etc getting into the open port or is there a fail safe to keep it clear of debris?
He's gonna add some type of cover when he's not driving it. While not a huge deal, you don't want a bunch of water building up in there, could sneak into the turbo and cause corrosion I'd imagine.
@@matt13ross Ahhh okay, that makes sense to me.
they arent called rain catchers for no reason
@@stlchevy95 Fair enough haha!
Yeah....nothing like the sound of a tractor with big turbo.... 🤣
All trucks should be long beds 👍
I’d rather a short bed but to each their own!
@@matt13ross Let me guess… Too hard to park? Won’t fit in your garage? Too much bed capacity?
Sou do Brasil, qual link das peças que vcs colocaram?
Look like Washington State? First time seeing your videos. I have a 5th gen and would likento hear my turbo too lol looked up dieselwerkz. Is it the one Cle Elum?
Diesel Works in PA
@@matt13ross ahhh. Damn. Appreciate the response. That rig is damn nice. Keep it up.
Will do, thanks!
AWESOME BTW
Thanks!
what model are those forces?? also any info on headlight setup?
Kash wheels. Headlights were sent out for some painting and the amber strip.
5th gens have that high idle feature from the factory
Yup
Which second gen kit did he use. To match the evil fab compound kit on??.
Not exactly sure, I believe it was included in the compound kit.
Now that the exhaust is running through a hole in the hood what happens when it rains?
Covered by a little cover bucket thinger.
Is that the same road WD old house is on?
Not even the same state lol
What size turbos?
Sweet set up, how much did that run you for?
Wasn't cheap! lol
Ballpark?
Kit is 6K +
How did it run before getting tuning?
Great, just slow! lol
Look at my brother company high horse performance in Delaware my truck came out amazing
What did they do to yours?
Sick truck 👍🏼👍🏼 what size of turbos ??
Large lol
@@matt13ross lol I kinda figured that
What tunes y’all running? Very clean tunes with very little coal.....rare to see this day and age, my 6.7 blows dark black clouds and I hate it 😂😂
Clean OEM tunes :)
Compounds definitely help to not blow black smoke but down low sometimes they will till spool is accomplished
@@brandonb8698 appreciate the info, it might be time for me to go the compound route then lol
@@Dieselelitist just make sure u size your turbos correctly with your setup, air before fuel always.
@@brandonb8698 yeah I’m pretty sure I’m going to just go with the DPP compound over stock system. I’m honestly not trying to blast high HP numbers, really just looking for efficiency gains primarily……and the sweet sweet sound they make doesn’t hurt 😂😂
Valve springs push rods ? Or they gonna be toast lol
Meh, not unless the Rev limit is reached. I *think* they'll be fine lol
@@matt13ross sick truck 👍
Is it even possible to buy this kit anymore? I have a 06 3500 with a 08 6.7 swap. Currently running a single S467.5 set up. And really want to go with twins. Everything has changed within the last year. Can't find kits anywhere... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Idk I would just reach out to Evil Fab
Thank You@@matt13ross
will a 4th gen ram fit the 5th gen ram hood
Doubt it
So he added compounds but didn’t do anything with the fuel or bigger injectors and definitely gonna need a built trans then that truck would be super nasty
All in due time and money
Are those stock headlights. I have a 5th gen and I feel like the headlight ring is white not amber
Stock housings, but painted black inside along with the change to amber running lights.
@@matt13ross how did u get it to amber if u don't mind me asking
A custom headlight shop did it.
Might be a silly question, but here it goes. Can a guy put a compound turbo in a 2019 6.7 but leave the emissions hardware in tack? Essentially no delete? I myself don't appreciate the noise or the black smoke but have heard a compound turbo is the right upgrade if you find yourself pulling a trailer often. Anyone? Would it give a guy additional pulling power?
I doubt anyone offers that. Would be a pain to make work with stock emissions / exhaust stuff. You're better off upgrading the factory turbo and doing an emissions compliant tune.
@@matt13ross How much added HP and torque could a person expect to get from what you've suggested?
Depends on the size of the turbo and the tune. Really you can't add much more power without worrying about the transmission exploding.
@@matt13ross Yes, I understand the complications that can arise regarding the trans. My son did a full delete on his 6.7 and the Trans went after about 5 months. I was simply trying to get an idea of what could be added to the truck in terms of HP and Torque well maintaining zero black smoke and the noise. Could a person realistically add 75 Hp and 200 ft-lbs of torque? Or is that a stretch? I pull a 25k trailer and would like a bit more pulling power.
You can definitely add 75hp while keep emissions. Maybe not 200 tq though, at least not with the stock turbo.
So I have a 2023 tow pig dually on order I want to do compound turbos is this going to be possible ? I want to have 1500 plus torque??
Idk much about the 23s and if you can tune them?
@@matt13ross ok thanks you
Don't get another duramax. Your neighbors will hate you. -From a previous neighbor of Durrtymax.
😂 😂 I think the BMW is just as much of a nuisance
Transmission cannot handle that power, I haven't even compound turboed, just full delete and tune and I'm having Transmission pressure problems
Agreed, but not beating on the truck or making full power until it's built.
Awesome! Now tell me how to keep one of these POS transfer cases from eating themselves or where to get a bulletproof replacement? 2010 bone stock 3500 dually.
Haha no idea! This is still stock transmission and transfer case.
@@matt13ross I'm on the fourth one in less than a year, each rebuilt one I've received get around 500 miles and are puking fluid and making noise.
Wtf? how?
@@matt13ross I have no ideal, but I will not get one from that supplier again. Have a kit in the shop, gonna give it a go on my own and see what happens. I did the rear diff and it's smooth as butter, LOL!
Yea you gotta try something new lol.
Is this is Canada 🇨🇦?
any exhaust getting in the cab?
Little smell, yes.
How about a price breakdown 🤔
Not a bad idea! But the build isn't nearly done!
Ughmmm, did anyone see an intake filter? Or did I miss that part?
It has a filter on the intake.
what do y'all do for work?
Boring desk job!
what lights are those on that red 3rd gen?
Not sure of that, was at a local shop, sorry!
Yeah that 68rfe will last about 150 miles lol 😂. Dare you to take it Ram dealership for warranty work lol 😂
It's lasted a few hundred since this video shockingly lol.
How much would it be for you guys to install that kit and tune
$0 because leave it to a pro lol.
How long till the 68rfe gives out?
Hasn’t yet!
Go to firepunk for a trans
Solid advice, thanks! A lot of $$$$ for sure
I'd heat wrap that exhaust
I think the plan is ceramic coating, possibly heat wrap too.
Nice build either way
Thanks!
You better be upgrading that trans or you won’t be going anywhere
Eventually. Just taking it easy on it for now.
Whatever size wheels and tires? Lift?
Stock ride height. 22X14s, forget the exact tire size, but a little under a 33".
Any rubbing at all?
What happens when it rains? 🌧

Standard.
