Major Mario propaganda right there Mario is one of the least honest top tiers imo lmao. Falco is pretty good at the matchup tho from my experience. Falco is like middle or possibly upper high tier but definitely not top tier.

@@CarbonMalite But to jab lock someone they have to miss a tech, whereas the ladders/hoo has just need standard safe pressure moves or grabs to land which is way more consistent.

I feel Falco has a ton of potential, because he has a ton of combos making his damage-output quite insane.
However, Falco can often struggle getting in, because he doesn't have the mobility, neither on the ground or in the air, compared to Fox or Wolf. This can make characters with disjoints able to keep him out.
Then again, Falco has an insane jump-height, so he can create very easy mixups with that alongside his fast-fall nature and good frame-data.
Anyways this was just me wanting to talk about my favorite birb.

If you shoot your enemies with his laser gun qnd because the knock back is kinda weird he can easily do a combo that leaves you at 50%-60%. People say his recovery is bad but tbh hus recovery is actually above average. He is the "weaker" then the other space animals but I see him at high tier if you play someone that knows what they are doing.
but what comes with the insane jump height comes short hop aerial problems and OoS short hop aerial problems... I think falco has some odd things that make him unviable solo maining and winning S tier tourneys.

7:55 Actually, Falco's hurtbox ends at his arms and doesn't extend into his feather hands at all. If you look closely, you can see that the hurtbox ends right at the second hitbox, making the third hitbox almost completely disjointed. In other words, Falco's up tilt is much more disjointed than Mario's.

As a falco main, i totally get where Dustin stands. Especially when he said “even if he messed up, he can just do it again and your still dead”. One up tilt at any percent from falco can lead to serious damage or even death.

Lol the “kill Falco” agenda is what made me the Bowser player I am today. Seriously, go play Melee, turn the damage from 100% to 50%, making both characters heavier, play as Bowser and fight Falco at lv9, when u can take 3 stocks and not loose 1 your starting your way toward Bowser success, then do this against other CPU characters just to get a bit of a feel for fighting against all of them.
Beating a lv9 CPU with Bowser was ROUGH, he is hard to pick up in Melee, but is easily the most rewarding character I’ve ever picked up in a fighting game. It was pretty fun beating everyone’s Pikachu, Falco, and Ice Climbers back in high school anyway lol. I would get nervous and choke in a real tournament probably, and you cannot do that with Bowser

Fox and Falco literally complement each other. Fox falls fast but makes up for it with his quick ground movement while Falco is much slower on the ground but makes up for it with his incredible air mobility.

Mario’s uptilt is not consistent like Falco. And Mario misses low/small characters every time while Falco can still hit them.
Actually falco’s up-tilt is inconsistent sometimes but it has so little lag that you can just do it again.

A better way to handle questions like "Is Mario better than Falco" is to call it out for its deflection. The point isn't whether Falco is better or worse than any character. The point is that Falco is being intentionally underrated to boost him up. Even if Falco is worse than Mario, that doesn't prove that Falco isn't underrated. While I don't entirely agree with that stance, that's how I'd handle that counterpoint.

I appologize I don't know the mario players name, but your mario is very good dude.
But I think he summarized it best, the only advantages falco has over mario is the nair that can break certain comboes and hitconfirm into drag down up tilt which can set up for kills or good damage and down tilt. Down tilt give falco a very good footsie poke that can kill at high percents. Mario has to risk a smash attack for that privilege, and even though that up smash is nuts, it is still a smash versus a tilt that have similar kill potential.
Only buff falco needs is his spike to be more generous and he will be perfect imo.

Yes the laser throws need to be fixed! I don't think anyone can honestly argue against that, every character's moves should function as intended at the very least. Laser buff would be nice but Falco probably doesn't deserve buffs that aren't just move fixes because he's already good.

@@brain_tonic Also if every character's moves hitboxes matched their animations, ultimate would be a better game as well as same with if all multihits worked properly. I am not saying ultimate is inherently bad by any means. I just feel like the devs got lazy with the programming for so many moves in this game. Its crazy we had to wait so many patches for some of the falco fixes to happen and even crazier how long it took them to make sonic's up air useable as well.

Falco's uptilt is busted. Such a free move to just spam and gives such a high reward!
Things about Falco :
- So Falco lack kills options compared to other top tiers
- He lacks neutral tools
- Has a linear recovery , which is easier to edgeguard
- Falco has to work his ass off to get kills against "good players"
- A decent projectile but underwhelming compared to the others projectiles
- Not a fast character compared to the rest of the cast
With all of that, this guy thinks Falco is the best spacie and a Top tier? How delusional can you become?
I mean fox has three of those issues potentially even worse such as his killpower and recovery but many would argue he is top tier and even top 10. By the way i dont think falco is top tier probably low/mid high tier and wolf is the best spacie in my opinion
@@HD-nb7kw If we based on "Results" on tournaments, "character usage" as single main or as a counter pick, Wolf would be the best. Many Top players have a pocket Wolf (Tweek , Zackray, even MKLeo). Fox have also great results but is not as popular as Wolf as a counter pick. Falco on the other hand, lacks these two things.

I have been saying this since that video!! Falco IS and HAS BEEN high tier, but falco players love to say he’s not good despite the ridiculous amount of combo potential and ridiculous edge guards he can pull off thanks to falcos jump... the falco agenda is to save falco from being nerfed by getting people to believe he isn’t top tier
As a friend of a falco main, I feel this so hard. His neutral may not be great, but he outpaces a good number of characters like hero, king dedede, and mii gunner. He’s especially good against hero. That matchup is actually torture
