    Shout-out to Lalita for agreeing to be the "model" for this video. I loved your explanation but would be happy to see more examples. I t's hard for me to translate it to my own style (with different colour palette, Kibbe type and essence) Need to think about it more!

      It is not easy! maybe some additional examples in the future or a more detailed "how to" 🌸

    I love black. I'm drawn to it like a magnet and it suits me. Unfortunately a few years ago when I was more impressionable I was often told to wear more brights and I tried but... Thank goodness that's done. I live in a very hot area and luckily I've discovered flesh tones for summer.
    It'll be interesting to see how I find a way to wear such common colours in a unique way because I really don't like the uniform way a lot of people dress.

    I LOVE the way you put together this color story in such a specific, detailed way. It’s always refreshing to hear you go so into detail on something fashion related, because it makes me feel not so alone in doing the same type of thing!
    As someone who identifies with the soft dramatic body type and right down essence, and has warm spring coloring… finally giving up black this year was the best decision I ever made! I held onto it for so long because I thought it was the short cut to looking “mysterious” and “cool” and “sensual” and never understood why I didn’t automatically feel that way when wearing it! Also never thought into if that’s even the image I WANTED to portray. (I also thought I was cool toned for the majority of my life because people told me that, but that’s a story for another day lol…)

      Yeah I had a similar story with giving up black myself
      And yeah this is definitely the channel for people who love to go deep into it all 😅

    I have made so many color palettes, maybe I will send one! I really liked this video as a left-up person, because I could see exactly how to adjust her recommendations for myself. great explanation

    I am an autumn type so my colors are rich and warm. But I am so at home in black, I love the vibe.

    OMG. All the examples of left down from Lalita’s neutral color story are so similar to my own wardrobe. Love it. (I am never wearing hot pink though)

    Love your videos! Your explanation for why Lalita is more down than up was so interesting. It didn't occur to me that bold, powerful and elegant looks could also apply to the down category .

    • @StyleThoughtsbyRita
      @StyleThoughtsbyRita  Před 2 lety +4

      It would be weird to have a system where 1/4th of all people are prohibited from being bold, powerful or elegant 🙂 the left+down people just do it in their own way ❤
      I invite you to look at the outfits i showed as examples in case it's confusing how a left/down person could do powerful elegant or bold styles ❤

      I’m left+up and that is because I want ppl to perceive me the way I perceive myself. Which is more easy-going and laid-back. Therefore my fits are also more flowy and relaxed but adding some touches unique to me 😊 instead of bold and powerful. I want to be perceived as peaceful.

    RIta I'm obsessed with your new hair styling!! 😍 Today I learned I have been doing some of these things with color intuitively, but now you've explained it I feel even more empowered to experiment! For example, I use leopard print strategically in my color story even though I'm a summer because I just identify with it so much. It might not be the most harmonious with my palette, but the impact it has is harmonious with the persona I want to project and I couldn't have articulated that before this video! 😊 When I gave myself permission to be as extra as Moira Rose (hehe) I considered how her persona would have been completely different without the black and white color story and that has inspired some of my choices when I dip outside of my summer palette. Just want to share in case it helps someone else. 💞

    • @StyleThoughtsbyRita
      @StyleThoughtsbyRita  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I think you + leopard print is a great example. I think leopard has this very "luxury extravagance" vibe so it really adds that flavor even if not strictly your "best colors" 🌸
      And thank you! I have discovered that my hair really likes it when I do wavy/curly styling but I'm definitely still learning how!

    I found your essence system last week and have just finished this video. I'm going to watch this like 100 times. You're a genius! The idea of colors having energies makes so much sense and is so applicable. Thank you 💕

    I loved this video I always find your insights very intriguing and grounded they make a lot of sense and I appreciate the depth of understanding you bring, pulling a lot together very artfully. I also think your essence system is quite special I hope more people start to latch on I might have to book a color talk with you! Thanks for what you do I think you are very good at the deeper observations without loosing your grounding in observable reality
    Also you look very pretty in this video

    Can u do a summary of the color lessons that u have gleaned from different systems (that way its not a class on the kibbe color system) but more using your creative "Rita" lens to help us with color

  • @gracechurch1791

    What does dimension mean with colors?

    • @StyleThoughtsbyRita
      @StyleThoughtsbyRita  Před 2 lety +18

      It means nuances/tones/shadows
      For example in my hair/skin there are many different shades.
      When choosing colors I look for colors that have some sort of nuances as opposed to sharp/flat/clear colors
      In outfits I look for things that have different nuances of the same color in a print, or I use pants/top of slightly different shades, or I look for garments that (like the shirt I'm wearing) create a lot of depth/movement/shadow to create many different shades of the color
      Those aren't all "must haves" they are just ways to create dimensionality
