- This was a fun day. Slowly waking up, not willing to leave this wonderful spot. Then a sea crossing, at the start of the Gota canal, with a big leftover swell. Then I turned inland, in sheltered waters, and the wind picked up. Squalls were coming through with even more wind. After a few of these, I decided it wasn't too much wind, so I took a reef out, and started sending the boat. Fun! It resulted in a nice speed, 10.6 knots. Not a record for me (12.2 is fastest), but a record for a boat loaded with camping gear.
I rented a small cabin, had a wonderful bath in freezing waters, then a wonderful meal. I took much time studying the map, I'm still hoping to reach Gavle, where there is a train going south to collect my car, and it is the end of the area with the most islands. It's a big stretch, but maybe it is doable?
To find camping places and shelters, a great collection via google maps can be found at:

The location of the shelter map sites seem to be changed a lot, so you can google "shelter map Sweden" as well to find good locations (or use your eyes ;)

What a beautiful video. I was never inspired to try putting sails on my canoes until now ! 🎉
Thanks, it sails well ;)
Hey Koos, I watch all your movies. Just a bit jealous. I admire and respect your sense of adventure.
Thanks Arjan, somehow I need to do this, don't know why ;)
Nice with those wind shelters, if you bring a camping shower you don't need a hostel.
Yrs every day swimming was a bit too cold for me
