East of Sweden: Bad weather coming in [13]

- After the longest sleep of this trip I headed out, with a rain forecast. The rain came! Thanks to my recently bought bolero (an overcoat made of neoprene) it wasn't cold. After denying it was miseable for a while, I just plugged on, having some fun with paddle sailing the canoe, with and without the rudder in.
To my luck, I scored a cabin for the night! Then, there was a Greek restaurant in town, which was even open! Nice company with a Greek/Bostonian lady, and two Belgians, a great food.
Next day there's high winds forecast (wind force 7-8) not so sure if I can go on...

A short rain shower can be refreshing though when it gets heavy it is no fun at all. Still you usually get wind with rain so no need to paddle!
Yes it started fun but bored quickly!

Can I ask what your average speed is and also what your highest speed in strong winds ?
Yes it is a wonderful area. I count on 5 km average through the day, including paddling. With a good tailwind I do 5 knots easy. Top speed was 12.1 knot

was that with the stabilisers fitted ?
@@simonbanks6641 haha, it was still fine :) It was without the stabilizers, a rain squall came through, the boat it fairly light, so it wants to fly :)
It seems like this area has this kind of mixed weather. I'm out sailing north of Grisslehamn and it rained last night and now it's very strong winds. Will we see you around this summer to?
Yes maybe it comes with the area, are you going outside?
