$28.25 Junkyard Kart Build and Race!

  • We take a junkyard go kart that we bought for $12.50 and get it running and riding for as cheap as possible. We're able to use the factory Tecumseh 6.5hp engine after replacing the carburetor, and we fit other used parts on it to make it ridable. Then we race the old kart! This one was a lot of fun, and reminds me a lot of the $50 go kart build! Leave a comment if you want to see more budget kart builds like this.

Project Farm didn't invent that.... And I know I probably didn't either. But, I never heard of it before I tried it back in the early 90's when I took an old 3/8 socket extension and cut the female part off, and grinded it down to 1/4" to fit in an old corded drill we had. Had to duct tape the socket onto the extension. Old two stroke lawnmower, couldn't get a replacement recoil starter. I was about John's age then, I'm about double that now..... It's a great technique to clear the cobwebs out of a motor that hasn't run in a long time.

Tecumseh engines were decent engines, I have a lawn mower with a flat head 3.5 hp Tecumseh engine that I bought new about 30 years ago. I have a large yard and use a lawn tractor for the majority of the mowing and use the small mower as a trim mower. It is decently cared for and runs perfectly, usually starting on the first pull. I wouldn't call it a power house but they are a decent engine if cared for at all.

Something with a snowmobile engine please ! You guys do nice work...I think a nice 900cc two stroke triple liquid cooled something would be interesting. The centrifugal clutch is also a nice benefit....let's hear 15000 rpm of go kart !!!

i like this better than expensive builds for sure. i have no garage and no money for a 670... keep these comin for inspiration for my broke ass

I've been binge watching your videos for the last 2 days and I can't get enough. Where do you look to find these old karts? I want to build one but want to start cheap like on this video.
