- Steph and I ventured up Kinder Scout in early March 2024. A moderate to challenging day hike including a grade one scramble. The scramble was located towards the top section of Grindsbrook Clough. We hiked along the plateau towards the Woolpacks, Pym Chair and Kinder Low. We descended via Jabob's Ladder and returned to our start point at Edale village. This was a circular route of approx 9 miles/14 km.

Do note, that the weather conditions can change very quickly and without warning. Kinder Scout at times, has poor visibility and is very boggy underfoot in places. Always, plan ahead, have a backup plan and make sure you have the right gear for the right situation. Conduct your own risk assessment when accessing the Peaks, as beautiful as they are, they do present hazards. Leave no trace, take your rubbish with you.

Yay Kinder Scout! What a lovely walk and I'm so glad you both had a better day of weather this time. I absolutely adore Grindbrook Clough, think it's fantastic. Looks like there were very few other walkers around too which is always a bonus. Glad you had a good brekkie. Went to the Maynard recently for a birthday bash. All the best 😃👍
The Maynard is fantastic, I’d stay there again.
The walk was brilliant, enjoyable from beginning to end. Not many people about either. X
"In no rush, deliberately taking our time, enjoying the outdoors experience."
The prefect walking speed when in the great outdoors in my opinion. 👍🙂
It was a good days hike, no hurry just taking our time. Thanks for watching. Have a good weekend Sog x
Love your enthusiasm (and the scenery). Wonderful xx
Thanks so much! 😊
Lovely video.
Stunning scenery and a great hike.
I liked the 'happy dance' on Kinder Low. 😊👍👍
I am known for the trig point dances lol! Thanks for tuning in 😄
Watching your hiking expedition fills me with nostalgia for my recent mountain trek. Your video captures the essence of the great outdoors and the sense of freedom it brings.
Thank you for your kind words. I thoroughly enjoyed this hike. The Peak District is a great place for exploring . Have a good week.
Enjoyed it lv.. tnx for sharing.😊
Hi Alison. Thanks for tuning in. I'm glad you liked this one.
A well made, and enjoyable video. Thank you for making it. I live only 18 miles from Kinder, and I am ashamed to say that I have never been up there. I must really make the effort to do so when the weather improves.
Thanks for stopping by. This was my second time on Kinder Scout. I love it up there. 👆 f you get a chance, it worth seeing. Ideally on a good weather day.
Well that rain seems to have following you, thank good ness it was only only me it has been following. never been there myself but I think I will save my first visit for a nice warm summers day - preferably without the crowds too, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, it’s a good climb up Kinder. It’s a really interesting landscape. Thanks ☺️
Great to see you both taking your time to enjoy the beautiful scenery on a fantastic walk
Yes it wasn’t a race. We spent a lot of time exploring particular areas along the route. It was fun! 🤩
Looks a nice place for a hike, lovely clear day for it, lovely views 👍

Hi Rachel. Ive just subscribed. Absolutely love Kinder and I think Grindsbrook is my favourite route up. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Rachel we have fond memories of the one time we visited here with Steve and Karen from atrampinthehills it was really fun coming along with you and Steph! Top marks for an award winning trig dance 💃 The weather was better for you guys on this one! Always love the energy! What an earth does Steph carry in that giant rucksack 🎒 it’s huge 😂 Enjoyed this guys have a great week ahead 👍
Yes Steph’s backpack is huge! She’s training for a 500 mile trail in June, called the side to side. From the furthest point in the south west to the the most easterly point in Norfolk. ☺️
@@ramblingracheltrailtales Aha backpack makes sense now 👍
Great little walk, it's beautiful up there 😀
Yes, thank you. ☺️
Great video, this has to be one of my favourite walks! 😊
Thanks for the mention of my book too 😊
Your welcome 🤗
Great video, thanks..
You are welcome! 🤗
Very beautiful video keep it up thanks for the sharing 👍💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you ☺️
Good choice of heading down the ladder. We did the same, and felt bad for all those headed up.😅
Yes it was a good route, really enjoyed it. Steph did a great job leading this one x
Fantastic 💃💃
Thanks 🤗
The grade 1 scramble is actually the right hand fork of Grindsbrook but you did the right thing avoiding it in wet conditions. Did Steph have the kitchen sink in her pack? 😅 Very entertaining as usual great to watch
I’m in training for a long walk I’m doing but it felt like it!! 😂
@@endurance-adventures I know what you mean. I was going to do the Pennine Way back in 2020 and I actually walked all around the Peak District twice a week for 6 weeks carrying a 14Kg pack for training. Just before we were due to start lockdown started…. I shall try and find a copy of your book to motivate me to try again. Which walk are you training for?
@@mikebelk5455 thanks, it’s a walk from Land’s End to Ness Point in June, 520 miles across the widest part of England
Ah ok, I didn’t realise. However, it was a good route too take, enjoyable.
