😆
Stop hiding under bridges!!!
Good on you getting out in this weather and you sure need that warm gear for camping out. One thing for sure you were not going to starve and those burgers looked great. Cannot beat waking up to the sound of the birds and wet and grey seems to sum up the weather we have been getting lately, cheers Alan
I have to admit, I’m looking forward to the warmer and drier weather now, oh and the longer day light hours. Have a good weekend x
Hi Rachel we love you don’t let the rain dampen your spirits and you got kitted and kaboodled and cracked on with this camp which is super! Great idea with the mini squash bottle for your oil! Mm Tiger 🐯 bread is the best! Burgers look good for veggie ones, sorry would be full Angus for us too! You should have chopped the onion raw for the crunch and still would have tasted good! The chip sauce sounds good, Heinz do a good burger one too! Yes to the chilli cheese! Ok now our mouths are watering 😋 ‘Dr Pepper so misunderstood’ great throwback there Rachel you need to make this a segment 😂 Wow lovely misty atmospheric morning, that bird 😳 enjoyed this, oh no man down 🤣
Hey! I hope are both having a good week. Thanks for stopping by. I have to admit, I'm rather taken by the Trangia, love it! Steph's veggie so I adapted.
Lovely adventure!!! Wohoooo~ it’s all wet, raining and all but nothing stop u guys hahaha glad u push through! 😮
Thank you!! 😁
Clearly with a Saints beanie! Me too 😅
Nice camp, Rachel! I've been a big coward this winter, and saving it for warmer weather 😁 Like the Tyvek bag cover. Great idea👍 All the best and take care 👍☺
Thanks Des. I have to admit, I'm looking forward to the warmer and drier months. Have a good week. x
Hey Rachel 👋 Good to see you out again, I’ve not been out for a while myself but hoping to in the next few weeks. Good shout with the Tyvek bivi, it has been a key bit of kit for me over the last year or so, keeps the sleeping bag clean and protected from moisture. Doesn’t weigh a ton either. Cheers 👍🏻⛺️
I don’t think there’s a way of avoiding condensation at this time of year. Just have to adapt and overcome. I was impressed with the Tyvek cover, even though I did buy the wrong one. Thanks for watching. Have a great week 😌
Nice camp Rachel and that veggie burger did look good! I think I need to get my old trangia out, haven't used it in years. Poor Steph- slipping in the mud!
The Trangia is amazing, my new favourite piece of equipment ☺️
Hello 👋🏻 Rachel and it looks like you had fun and enjoyed your camping time. Just watched Steph's video so thought I better pop over 🏕️
Hi Tony, thanks for popping by. It was a good camp considering the time of year we went out. X
Another great wild camp, Rachel. I would have put the onions on the burger raw for that crunch. Thanks for sharing, and I'm looking forward to the hike ahead.
Thanks Chris. The burgers were very nice depsite the lack of onion lol!
Us too 👍😋
What a fab camp! I recognised the exact spot (don't worry - I shan't give it away 😊). One of the best viewpoints on one of my favourite walks in my favourite area of Northamptonshire.
I have thought about camping there before, but it felt a bit exposed, quite near the footpath and with a line of sight from the buildings below. So all credit to you for having the guts to give it a go! Looks like you had a great time.
Pitched up at dusk and packed away before sunshine. Interestingly, we pitched out of view from the footpath, the large collapsed tree provided good cover and the bushes in front also helped. Thanks for watching.
Lovely little camp.
You girls know how to live! 😊
I use a normal kitchen sponge, the type with a scouring pad on one side. A little squirt of all purpose liquid soap and a splash of water, cleans the soot from pans too without scratching.
Can't beat real food on a camp.
Keep the videos coming. 👍👍
Thanks for the info. I’ll be better prepared next time round. Thanks for tuning in. 🙂
Very nice and happy video 😊
Thanks for watching 😀
greetings from a Brit expat now living in a much warmer but wetter Malaysia - at least in our rainy season right now -. Just found your channel and love the content, so I subbed. Looking forward to catching up with and following your adventures. A soft sponge with non scratch backing should do the trick on your Trangia pans with a dash of water and a few dops of washing up liquid. If you boil some water in the frying pan after you've cooked, that should go some way to help lift/soften any burnt on food. Thanks for sharing your adventures
Hi 👋 Thanks for subbing and taking the time to comment. We’ve had a very wet February over here. Roll on Spring time 🤩
Very nice
Thanks ☺️
Wow..I love that fog from the slight distance. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Yes, very atmospheric 🙂 I didn’t get to show you the lovely views this time round. Never mind.
Lovely vlog and good tip about bivvy bag…will invest in one! Food looked scrummy. 😋 take care.
The tyvek cover did perform well. I wouldn’t have enjoyed sleeping in a wet quilt. Food was good, despite the lack of onion. Thanks for watching 👀
Looked like a great night out 😊
It was! Love a wild camp in any weather, within reason. 😄
Ey up me duck.
I love misty mornings like that, always feels kinda magical and I feel more a part of my surroundings for some reason, kinda wrapped up in nature's soft blanket.
Anyroad, enjoyed as always. Ay a good'un 🙂👍
Thanks Sog 😀 I had hoped to show more of the Northants countryside in this vlog but the mist had other ideas. Have a good week 😌
Loved the singing, and the burgers looked delish. Well done, both of you xx
Thanks Sue. Dr Pepper is the flavour of the 90s. It reminds me of my youth 😀
Brilliant camp, love the bivvy so I just ordered one. Oh and I saw the mistake, the groundsheet protruded the edge, oops! 🤣😆
Yeah not a major mistake but still. I like the Tyvek cover, it was cheap and keep my quilt dry. I don't think the Lunar Solo copes very well with damp drizzly British weather too well. Not sure what the solution is to reduce condensation without having the doors completely open. Thanks for watching.
@@ramblingracheltrailtales Only a problem if it rains and your kit is there. I have the same condensation problem with my Lanshan 1, even when it's well vented with the fly raised. I think it's something we have to live with when using these nylon tents, although it's a pain in the backside
Such a beautiful scenery and atmosphere my friend 👏👏
Thank you. ☺️
Love this video. That burger did need to be a full Aberdeen Angus though 😊 fantastic idea putting cooking oil in the squash bottle
Next time! I get a bit worried about taking meat out if I’m not going to consume it straight away. It feels safer having a veggie option. 😀
Hi .... cool videos ... for washing up outdoors it's always best to go with Castile liquid soap ... sometimes listed as gardeners soap ... it's a little pricey but it's organic and non toxic to wildlife including aquatic and plants ... it goes a long way and can be used for the dishes, laundry and skin/hair so it's easy to pack a single solution to every ablution ... why take 2 bottles into the scungy pond? 😁
Great tip! Thank you. I shall investigate 😊
COYS 😅
Ha! I do follow the Rugga!
It is easier to clean your pan if you take it off the heat as soon as you have finished cooking your food ... You left your empty pan on the flame for some time just baking on the food residue making it more difficult to clean ...
I try not to use dish soap , using only water over a flame and scrape round with the spatula to release the sticky bits then a wipe round with your cloth or kitchen roll and job is usually a gud'n ... any difficult bits I take care of when we get home , carefully washing 'n drying before putting the kit away for next time !!!
Just don't be tempted to put it in the dishwasher ... unless you have a hard anodised or teflon coated set , the dishwasher soap is very caustic and will eat your soft aluminium pans to bits !!!
Thanks ☺️
Great video - what was I making all those noises for? 😀Packing up's the worst!!
Hee hee 😆 For some reason you sounded really grumpy packing away. 😀
@@ramblingracheltrailtales I think I was having problems getting my massive sleeping bag back into my rucksack! 😂
🎶Doctor Pepper, what's the worst that could happen?......🎶 FORGET TO COOK YOUR ONION!!! 🤣
That’s it! I knew there was another line that I couldn’t remember 😆 I don’t know how I forgot the onion! 🧅 lol 😝
@#ramblingracheluk unfortunately you can only lesson the effects of condensation. Sorry but one of those measures is never get a single skin tent.. keep your tent in a dry bag instead of its sack .. you will never have to keep it outside your rucksack then.... it always goes top, inside of your rucksack... after cooking with your pan, put in a little water and put it back on the heat while you eat .. by the time you have eaten the pan just needs a little whipe over.. well 95% of the time anyway... take care out there..
It's all good fun. The Lunar Solo is a great summer tent and ideal for long-distance trails; it served me well on the Herriot Way last year. Definitely not a winter tent. I was alright. I kept myself dry and my kit, that was the most important thing. Thanks again.
I usually get the wife to clean my camping gear...😂😂😂 I'll ask her what she uses 😂
Ha! Did you notice your sticker on the little table? ☺️
I didn't. Ooh I'll have to look
Nope definitely can't see it
Good content about camping dear my friend...I very enjoyed it much... very naturally ❤❤
Best regards from Indonesia #willysandy58
Thank you very much!
@@ramblingracheltrailtales you're welcome my friend 😊🙏🏻
Looks like a great trip! My friend and I are also wildcampers, feel free to check out our latest video frkm friday night 😊
I also had a fall in the mud on the camp before last! 😅 All part of it
Thanks :)
You didn't introduce that lady. Is she your mother?
That's my good friend Steph, and only about ten years older than me. My Mother would never go camping, she'd hate it. Steph's appeared in lots of my vids over the last year. She has a channel too called Endurance Adventures. Thanks for watching.
@@ramblingracheltrailtales Oh sorry. You must be older than you look. I've only seen a few of your videos, so I haven't seen her yet. I'll keep watching. Cheers.
I visited your CZcams video. Your CZcams channel all videos have low views. You have many problems with your video. Your video has not perfect SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Your video SEO is 00 out of 100. So your video has very low views. But you need 75+ out of 100. If you can do 80 out of 100 SEO, the video will get many views. Next problem, your video does not have a perfect keyword. I want to help you grow your channel by doing SEO. It's an organic method to grow your channel.
I don’t care. 🤷🏻♀️ I make videos for enjoyment and to capture my memories, not for ‘likes’ or ‘views’. I have no aspirations for making money from them. What you see as a problem, I don’t. Go pester someone else.
