- Steph and I revisited the spot we were going to camp at about six weeks prior, this time it was a success. Lovely blue skies and tee shirt weather on the first day, a bit grey and wet the following day. Also went for a good hike after the camp.
No drama, just wild camping!
Filmed mid-April 2024.
Filmed using an iPhone XR
Edited using iMovie
Music from CZcams Studio because I'm a cheapskate and don't want to fork out for another subscription.
Thanks!
A really nice watch.. and I hope this adventure more than made up for the one you missed. 💚
It did thanks. It’s a nice spot too. X
Cool...2nd time lucky...No wind, No Drama...that's rare these days...enjoyable watch
Yeah I’ve been watching for a half descent camp for sometime now x
Loved the video ladies!
Thank you!! ☺️
Excellent Rachel 😊know that spot well myself, lovely no drama camp ⛺️ lovely weather too! BW, Sarah
Yes! Thank you! It’s a great spot, out of sight from the footpath and not a million miles away from civilisation.
Normal service resumes after your biking adventure, just a shame this bloomin rain is still plaguing us all.
Nice to see you both in the Peak District again, it's certainly a lovely area and my local one.
Ay a good'un 👣👍🙂
Absolutely 👍
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing! Lots of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker from the Hindu Kush Mountains Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
Thanks ☺️ Have a good weekend 😀
Fantastic video. Favourite national Park, good question. Not visited them all. Do love the Peak District but I think there's something very mystical about the North York Moors
Hi ya, looking forward to seeing you on the trail soon. X
My nearest national park is the peak district, so it's the one I frequent the most often. Don't know as much about it as I probably should. I tend to stay around bamford edge, man tor and kinder scout... I don't drive so stay close to the train stations... I take my trangia all the time. I have lighter cooking options, faster cooking options, yet the silent no rush methods with the trangia keep me enamoured with it. Take care out there.
The Peak District is great, love it. 😊 I think the nearest train station to where we were was Grindleford. X
Hi Rachel and Steph so glad you returned as we remember your last wash out visit! 🤣 love your David Attenborough impression 👍 great views! Peak District is very new to us only done a few hikes but it could grow on us! It’s the same distance away for us than the Lake District and our hearts are strong for those mountains! Those meals seem a little pricey Jill says she’d sooner make a meal and juzz it into a soup to reheat on a camp (coz yeah we are avid campers 🤔🤣) let’s just say when it comes to camping we’ll leave it to the pro’s like yourselves and other YT buddies 😂 and enjoy it from the comfort of our home! You actually looked like you enjoyed that meal but a glass of wine would have washed it down better for us! You look snug as a bug in a rug! Oh no listen to the rain ☔️ ggrrr darn weather good news there is no leakage or condensation! (Teeny tiny bit of condensation) very atmospheric morning! Love the otter socks that’s where the condensation has come from 😂 Barnibus 🐑 is cute! Another great camp and vid guys have a lovely weekend 👍
Thanks for watching 👀 It was a good micro adventure and the Peaks never disappoints. I wish I lived nearer to a mountain range. The Lake District is magnificent! X
Absolutely love this! Fantastic. Makin’ me jelly. 🤙🏻
Thanks! 👍 No drama, just camping ⛺️
Nice video, RR - you're definitely getting into your stride with these! Great to finally have some half-decent weather. Feels like we've been living in a washing machine for the last four or five months in the UK. I keep wondering when all the rain, sodden ground and cold wind will ever end.
I live in Northamptonshire like you, so that's where most of my walking/sploshing is, but I try to get up to the Peak District when I can, as it's within striking distance. Although the Peak District really is wonderful, I would go to the Lakes, Snowdonia or Scotland more often if it wasn't for all the travelling - these tend to be more holiday destinations.
All the best for your forthcoming trips. Here's hoping for some drier, warmer weather soon...
Truth be told, I’d quite like to pack away a dry tent for a change lol! 🤨 Might have to wait a while. I love the Lake District and mountainous areas. Shame there’s non locally. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment. Take care x
😀💜💜💜
Thanks ☺️
Love the tuneful rendition at the end! 😀 we had such great views... until the rain came in! 😞
Ha! I had to add that clip somewhere in the video! lol! 😝
😂🤣 love the singing morning has broken superb 👌
Yeah shocking singing! 🎶
Another good video Rachel. So glad the weather was somewhat better for you this time.
In answer to your question, Scotland is my regular yearly destination, just love it. I live about an hours drive from both the Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons so visit them often as i can.
Keep the videos coming. 👍👍
Scotland is amazing! I’d like to return there in the future. So much still to explore. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend. All the best x
The Peak District is on my doorstep as I’m in Cheshire and I’m hoping to finally get out next weekend for the first time this year. I looked at camping up near where you are last October but had to abandon it as the ground was just too wet.
Yeah it’s not much fun camping in water. Hopefully as it gets warmer, it will be less of an issue. We did a cheeky wild camp up on Shining Tor which is more towards the Cheshire side of the Peaks. Fab views too. I didn’t vlog that one though. X
Quality video bombing by Steph! 🤣🤣🤣
Ha! She likes to sneak up from time to time lol! X
Even though my preference is for long hikes, I still enjoy enjoy your wild camping videos, not sure I could cope without my creature comforts! Do you or any other viewers have any recommendations for electrolyte tablets to add to drinking water, that don't taste synthetic? I have tried looking on-line but there's so many, it's difficult to differentiate. Cheers.
When I’m doing a short micro adventure I’m usually fuelled by Yorkshire tea or Nescafé! However, when I have done the longer hikes, I have used electrolytes previously, mostly in the summer months. I can’t remember the brand I used before. Thanks for watching. I hope you have a good weekend.
Nice one Rach, sound that
Many thanks! ☺️
@ramblingracheltrailtales nice pitch of the tent too, looked perfect 👌
Enjoyed that , new sub here 👍🏕
Awesome, thank you! 🤩
@ramblingracheltrailtales always happy to support a fellow outdoor youtuber 👍🏕
Hi nice video ive got a video first camp of 2024 soon im a new channel so hopefully it will go well have you tried summit camping food the pasta one is good and the steak stew is really good 👌
Hi there 👋 I look forward to seeing your video. I think I’ve tried some meals from that brand, seemed ok. I do intend to use cheaper options for meals but sometimes it’s easier to by a camping meal. The convenience of it and it’s simplicity works for me. X
Name change to Rambling Rev ?
Not a Revd yet. 😉 Will be soon though. X
