I'm not a fan of Pink Floyd and I consider them to be overrated musicians, especially compared to their contemporaries. Pink Floyd sounds like they made a 90-second song, slowed it by at least speed, padded further with lengths of random noise like "children screaming". Even if the lyrics weren't pretentious (they are) it just sounds bad. Holding on random synthesizer keys for 5 seconds at a time, then holding another etc. I guess it's like a meta-commentary on how they don't respect their audience. Go on about their awful freestyle poetry all you want, Floyd fails at the universal language of musically conveying emotion. Everything is either a slow drone or obnoxious noise masked as "2deep4u".
But boomers like them, so you know. Don't bother educating yourself with about other music. The problem is the concept of learning, not the force of indoctrination to serfdom under the guise of learning. Education bad, learning bad.Yeah, try to recover from that, Mrs.Wells.
