Dude in Peru we actually have a dish called "Lomo a lo pobre" which is meat with fried banana (a special kind though, less sweet) and a fried egg. And some burger joints serve an "a lo pobre" burger which is pretty much what you made. I personally fuck with it HEAVILY.

I'm cuban and the ground beef is called picadillo :) banana is a common side dish. I know it sounds strange but you've got to try chopping a banana into thick vegetable soup right before eating. It's so good! It reminds me of cold days in my childhood :,)
