I'm confused about the offside. before watching this video I was discussing it and was told that apparently it hadn't been given offside because Lovren touched it. I've always been under the impression that even if the defender touches it, if the attacker is offside when the pass is made then they are offside? Klopp seems to say the same thing which is interesting, asking if there is a new rule.

Both penalties were legit according the rules. I do sympathise with the offside rule even though phases are currently laws in the game.
As far as I'm concerned, if you're on the green part of the pitch you affect play. Lovren can see Kane offside, a ball is played through to him and he's forced to react. It goes against instinct to leave a through-ball with hopes a referee calls it correct. But he's punished for trying to stop a foul ball going to an offside player.
Kanes presence offside impacts decisions made by defenders. As soon as a ball is played with the intention of going to an offside player, them chasing the ball is irrelevant.
Why do they have to sit through this shit

Im united fan, i think first penalty does not matter as it was missed anyway. Second pen was harsh, football is a contact sport, sure there was a little contact but there was no need to jump like that. If this happens to manu game, i would be pissed too.

1st pen was a joke, 2nd was extremely soft, like they were looking to give the pen, I feel that's what klopp was feeling, they *wanted* to award the pen, but if he'd said those words he'd have made the same mistake wenger did and would be fined for questioning the officials integrity.

That should be done to the referees for the overtime penalty: make them watch it for 20 years in a row, this time, and huge noise in the background shouting "NO PENALTY!" That would be a good idea!

Technically the second penalty was a penalty but it’s a disgrace that that is how soft the game has gone. VVD barely touched Lamela, the laws have to be changed in my opinion.
Man Utd fan here. I think Spurs have a bad attitude about their game. You are losing the game and you try illegal means to win? I thought Pochettino was better than that. But I would also say Klopp is stupid for not anticipating this and not bringing in defensive subs when he could. This is why neither of these managers are capable of winning silverware.

Fact is referees got ALL BIG decisions right.
1. Delle Alli dived & was rightly booked.
2. Kane was standing in OFFSIDE POSITION but that by itself does not make an offside offence. Offside offence happens when Kane touches the ball/interferes with play but before that happens if defending team touches the ball, it's not offside.
3. VanDyk clearly kicked Lamela and it WAS A PENALTY. Doesn't matter if it was a soft penalty, doesn't matter it is 93 minute or 3rd minute.
