What I enjoy about your comparison videos is the exact thing I liked about Eric Oakley’s building the bag videos, a professional throwing a variety of similarly categorized molds from various brands. It helps players understand that disc selection comes down to what feels right for you as a player. Brand is a secondary attribute. There are so many awesome companies making discs now!

The Hex is my favorite disc in my bag. Just dead straight and very workable.
I remember Simon saying he didn't know how people with open bag contracts handle all the options...but that's essentially every non-pro disc golfer. Love that you can provide legit honest opinion videos on discs!

Thanks for the video. I have the Supra, but for me as a forehand thrower, I found it to be quite understable. I also have the Hex. For me, it flies pretty straight (again, I only throw forehand). I also don't have a lot of arm speed, unfortunately, which could explain my different results.
Have you tried backhand with the opposing arm? It's the same basic run up.
In reality disc golf is weird because its the opposite hip engagement of typical sports like baseball and golf.
I learned RHFH first being a baseball pitcher, then LHBH, then RHBH (over many years)
Love that u got creative with the over head shots/zooming and read the comment's, i couldn't see the flights either, but didn't comment. The content keeps getting better, we're watching and learning while even a pro like u still does the same. 👍

I love my hex but I'm really lost in terms of comparing it's flight to the buzz. Because of the feel and shape difference it's very hard for me to throw it the same to distinguish how the flight compares. So glad to hear your thoughts.

I haven't really complained about the quality but even at 1080p it's pretty grainy. If you want to improve the quality you should probably get a better camera.

Hex was my personal disc disc of the year 2021 I threw it a lot. Time to try a Supra (got a Z triple ace Buzzz)

I’m thinking the Hex is probably a good choice for the beginner with lower arm speed or the more experienced that likes that little bit of flip. I like the finesse types of shots. Might have to pick one up.

My personal feeling is that non-gyro discs are a little easier to throw for the novice as they're a little less affected by the speed of your spin. They usually do the typical turn-fade flight. Gyro discs really take off when you snap them right - but if your snap is weak, you tend to get a smashing early fade. Luckily there's now the Eclipse Hex that doesn't have a weighted rim, so solo mold lovers and beginners have the perfect Hex for them as well. I'm loving my Lizottle , it's such an easy disc to throw, especially forehand! I love the Hex in Fission too, the ultra-pushing flight pattern does some amazing lines with incredible distance - but it's a very demanding disc when you push it.
The hex handles the torque of a power forehand much better than any buzzz I’ve ever thrown ( never thrown a Supra before)
Hex is pretty good. The only reason I don’t bag mine is because it’s the only one. If I got a few more, then the choice is easy.

The Simon Lizotte Hex went on sale today. I was able to grab one with no issues. I'm sure they will sell out pretty quick though

Buzzz feels amazing in hand. They also fly great. But problem is for me atleast that I rarely get a Buzzz that fly the same. I have it in all ranges randomly. All z-line and they flip over or dont flip at all. Very inconsistent.
Been saying this for years. I’m not trying to play disc lotto. That’s why I prefer mvp.

Hex is great at a lot of things, but any cross or headwind stiffer than a breeze is going to add some challenge to the shot.
That’s why ya go with the eclipse hex. Little better in the wind
@hyzerponix Nah. Once you have enough power you’ll be able to throw some discs that can fly reliably in higher winds.
Alot of people like mvp. My buddies took all my mvp drivers before i even got to throw them.
One thing I can say is try using other colors then white. They get lost in the clouds and sky. Just a suggestion other then that live the videos and keep up the great content!

i’m thinking about putting black dye on half of the rim. I have tested out with a sharpie and it makes it really nice to see the spin of the disc, sort of like simon’s famous yellow and red disc
@@davidmorton8170 freestylers put tape markers on their discs sometimes to measure the spin as they're playing, the golf disc version probably makes less sense but still nice to see

i think the video quality moreso comes down to the difficulty of cameras focusing on black rimmed discs (most gyro). it is difficult to see the whole flight of the disc on some of the shots in previous videos. turning up the quality to 1080 can only go so far. that said, i havent had issues understanding the idea of what you are saying in the reviews and seeing the majority of the flights but i can see how people would be concerned about it.
Idk if “concerned” is the right word but I understand.
If the camera sucks then I can watch it suck in 4K but it doesn't magically get better.

Thanks for the advice on turning up to 1080p. Was a lot easier to see. Follow flight feature would be sweet. The course makes it tough with the light colored grass and sky.
I have gigabit internet, vids are running in max resolution, I have very high end monitors and run on a 4070ti graphics card. Your video quality is rough. I have a amateur background in videography and I think you aren't rendering the exports correctly. Also, your color grading seems to be a bit off. I don't know what you are shooting in, but on my Sony I have to shoot in a very dialed in Slog2 profile and then color grading is touchy. Your white balance seems spot on though. Maybe some people with a lot of experience in this can chime in because the camera you use obviously has good quality and focus, but the upload quality to youtube isn't there.

If we are talking about video quality, Drew - then we need to inform you that 24 fps videos of disc golf really suck.
It's 21st century content presented with an early 20th century frame rate.
In 2023, the minimum acceptable quality of disc golf videos is 1080p60 - meaning 60 frames a second.
At 24 fps I see every frame six times before the screen updates, and panning looks like a slideshow on my 144Hz monitors.
Please do NOT fall into the trap of thinking that resolution is king - it is not.
No one cares about 4K or 8K, and it is the framerate alone which decides the visual quality of a video.
DO THE MATH: 24fps at 1080p is 49 megapixels of visual data per second, while 60fps is 124 megapixels per second!
