I would disagree. I personally prefer Discmania discs. They made a huge mistake in letting him slip away.
Thanks for the honest review Drew. I always respect your opinions. When it comes to my go to putters, I want to be able to Flick them as well as putting.
The deeper depth, for putting, does not do well with my big hands. I am not biased, I've been a Gyronaut since 2014. My favorite Putter for approach is the Aerobie Arrow.
I likely have more putters in my used bin than any other mold.
And why I usually carry 4-5 different Proxies.
That is super helpful that you explained the difference in putter shapes and what that means. It was really cool to see the difference right away as you demonstrated.

On the subject of putter wobble, we can say with some authority that it has zero bearing on accuracy.
Because Yeti's putt wobbles like crazy, and he won 5x Putting World Championships.
SCOGGINS
I saw some speculation, when people were talking about Ohn Scoggins putting, that a wobbly putt has its advantages. Their argument being that it averages out the winds influence on the discs flight.
I've tinkered about with this a bit and do sometimes purpously go for a wobble when my usual putt is 'off' (for me if I shift the thumb part of my palm further onto the flight plate I get a wobble)
Not something I've dived into in any great depth though It's in my mind to have a few putting sessions trying it out when it warms up to see if it is a good/terrible thing for my putting game.
I believe Ulibarri/Jerm has mentioned that Paul McBeth likes to add / remove wobble based on the putt he's facing. So I can see some merit whilst understanding that for some people it's too much micro management.
The way you described putting with the Penrose makes me understand why you kept pulling your putts right during the blind challenge haha. Good tip on getting a thinner putter if you have a wobble. I'll need to check my technique first though
As someone who mainly putts Rainmakers (slightly shallower modified P2) and P1Xs for long putts, I'm super excited for the Pixel.

Great to see comparison videos, especially with the putters stacked and getting to see that profile. I seriously wish the PDGA approved discs page required profile views along with the measurements, numbers are so close between the Judge, Penrose and Pixel, but i'm sure they all still feel plenty different in hand.
I've been putting Judges since they came out (except for a few months with the Hydrogen when it released) and recently tried the dagger but didn't feel quite right. Looks like I need to get my hands on a Penrose to try it out!

I have watched probably 200 videos on putting and this is the first time ive read or heard if you got the wobbles maybe try a thinner putter. This has helped alot thank you. This should be a PSA honestly never heard it before.

As a penrose putter, I hate the slightly deeper form factor, but then again I also use a Luna as my driving/throw putter. Very cool to see your take on this new Simon Line!

I want to try a Pixel but I might not like it. I like suuuper thin profiles for putters. I actually like the Watt. Feels best in my hands. I want MVP to do a run of Soft Electron Watts.
Thanks for the review! I’m torn because I love a glidey point and shoot putter but don’t love a deep dish. If nothing else seems like a good one for that borderline putt/throw distance if you’re trying to give it a chance.
Yeah I putt with pilots which are very flat and pretty shallow but straight and glidey. Idk if it will be good for me.
Have you tried the Nomad? Its what I've been using and i think it feels a bit thinner. I'm curious what you think of it.

Flight plate is probably thicker on the Penrose. With the gyro putting more weight in the rim, the plates are thinner.

Have you ever tried the atom? It has that point and shoot flight like the pixel but it’s much thinner and flatter more similar to the Penrose
Personally I think it’s a good bit shallower than the penrose. Absolutely love my atoms tho so maybe I’m just a fanboy

@@genecrosby3776 Point and shoot is used for all the discs that fly straight. MD1, Mako3/Mako, Buzzz SS etc. are point and shoot discs. Most putters are fairly straight flying. Point and shoot putters are Pure, Swan, Atom, Roach, Pa4/Pa5 and many others. This is a commonly used term for straight fliers. That tagline has been used for dozens of discs. But you are correct, probably fits Pixel as well.

Which Electron Plastic is Simon's Pixel in? Firm, Med, or Soft?
Wonder how the Pixel compares to the Nomad for putting? I've been loving putting with the Nomads since they were released. Sounds like the Pixel might be too deep for my style, but gonna have to check it out when they are released.
Only tried the Nomad, but looks like similar stability with more glide. Hand feel looks very similar to Ion.
Drew might want to try them after his second round of putting last weekend,😬

My problem when I practice putting is I have a stack of 16 putters but every one of them are different. I need to commit to which putter I want to use and get 16 of them. So I might go Luna, Dart, Marvel, Berg, Fierce ect... and have to change up how I throw each one. I guess its good to learn how each flies but I definitely need to commit to one.
Check factory stores for clearance sales. I got 10 judges for 4.89 a piece because DD was unloading a bunch of 10 year anniversary 2022 stamp ones they were sitting on a bunch of coming in to this summer. But yea committing to a putter and not changing it just for the hell of it or because you think it'll help is actually huge. There is so little difference between them, there is no miracle putter that'll fix whatever you might think your issue is. Just practice and consistency.
When you choose put all putters on bed and close your eyes take everyone into hand and what feels best it will be right one. I changed my putting putter that way and got instantly better results without practicing. Of course you need to adjust your putting in long term because different flight but if it feels good into hand it will perform better.
Anyone looking for shallower putter, I recently switched to Discmania Logic from Discraft Challengers after learning about finger pop. I felt like the 1.6cm deep Challengers were a bit too deep for me, keeping me from getting a good pop and leaving the disc on a steep hyzer. The 1.3cm deep Logic allows me to get more pop and flatter hyzer angle, making it more point-and-shoot.
How are they for driver putters from 200-250?
I have been waiting ever so patiently for the pixel. I did just pick up a tsa pneuma in their nerve plastic. I love the nerve plastic for grip and those putters are also a very straight putter
Only thing I would have to disagree with is hand size in terms of putters. I think it is way more about comfort. There are guys with freakishly small hands putting with daggers. Great video though

Agree or disagree, a putters flight is irrelevant inside 30'? In my opinion, i think most can putt with any putter inside 30' as long as it fits their hand.
For the most part yea. I mean a Pure vs. a Challenger OS at 30 feet is definitely different but for the majority of neutral-ish putters yea.

It's cool but it doesn't do anything a ton of other putters can't do. Most likely this will just make people drop their tried and true throwers and become more inconsistent as they learn and beat in another disc for no reason. Really not much reason to keep making new putter molds these days, they're completely solved, but it'll sell anyways cause Simons name is on it.

honestly the pixel looks a lot like a proxy tbh.
I think the Pixel will be noticeably deeper and more rounded than the Proxy.
Hard to tell on video, but if it is indeed a P1X/P2 hybrid, it will feel pretty different than a Proxy.

I think when he stacked them, the shoulder/dome of the Pixel went up inside the Penrose. If you laid them both flat on a table, you'd prolly see a difference.

Lot of player use pre-released discs. That is perfectly fine and by the rules. There used to be a rule that 500 disc must have been made more or less available or something like that, but current rule book has nothing about that.
Just needs to be approved by PDGA and follow the technical standards.
