The most stressful 5 hours of my life😂 I was taking the top off when the ribbon came off and I freaked out, it took me about 30 mins to clean then I tried to figure out how to put the ribbon back on after I figured it out it took me a long time to put it on but I'm an idiot who skipped a step with the front piece😂 then after 3 hours I looked at the video and saw what I did wrong🤦, I feel really stupid but this video really helped, my Xbox would turn off randomly but now it works kinda new, thx

I broke my xbox while trying this. I bought a new xb1 and fortunately was able to get my account back and most of my save game data. If you try this, be extremely careful.
You have to be careful i just did mine fine it needed a dusting bad u just have to listen to him my little ribbon even popped out of the slot but u can easily just slide it back in u just have to be careful

My son shoved an instax instant photo into the disc drive, had to take the whole console apart and open up the disc drive. Got it out, got everything back together, and cleaned out all the dust. That you CZcams videos for saving the day!
Guy u don’t have to do that if want to clean your disc tray or whatever it’s called I simply got behind my xbox one and angled my head and blew into the creases on the console but before u do so make sure u have a clean wash cloth and wipe the dust off of your Xbox then blow into it. It might seem like u are blowing my dust in the console but your actually helping it good lucks guys

million thumbs up to this guy. he helped me put my casing back together when i couldn't get it back together after taking it apart from another video. (they didn't explain how to put it back) Couple of experience pointers: The casing is extremely difficult to pry apart first time. it is not as easy as this video, or any other video. in fact, where the warranty sticker once was is a gouged hole from me jamming a butter knife up in there twisting it to pop er open. It is 100% more difficult. The issue of people not being able to put their casing back together is because when you lifted the casing off the first time, the face plate came off with the top cover and didn't stay on the bottom cover. Like myself, you ripped it off a little aggressive, not enough to destroy the ribbon, but enough that the face plate disconnected from the bottom of the console and stayed with the top portion. resolution: with your cover off and the faceplate still attached the top plate follow this video and use those small clips to remove it. with it removed turn your console towards you and put it back on correctly (snap it back on the bottom of the shell) then put the top cover back as described. Thanks Man!

And it only took me two times watching the start of how to get the case back on to properly get the case on again xD and two attempts at clipping the case back on. You, sir, deserve an award, and that's not a joke... There's not many people who could do a tutorial this simple yet in depth xD and have it super easy to follow too.

thanks for the video my son punched the top of his xbox in a rage and there was a noise coming from the fan after watching this i took it apart and found that the mesch had bent and was hitting the cooling fan just a simple fix thanks again
so this helped me more than I can say, my front plate was about 1mm higher than it should've been from a previous attempt at opening/closing my case and thanks to your tutorial I was able to close it properly, so thanks for that

You rock! Microsoft wanted to charge me over $100 to fix my sync button. Opened it up with your guide and it turns out they just never connected the ribbon cable (it's refurbished). Easy fix!

I got my xbox on December 25th 2015 and i took it apart to clean it and tbh all there was, was a thin coating of dust in the top and sides so not that bad, allot better than i was expecting considering i use it on a daily basis. Maybe i just have a cleaner house than others idk
Just did this with my launch day X1. It was shutting down from overheating so I’m hoping it’s fixed, since a bunch of dust fell out as soon as I cracked the case open. My ribbon must be the strongest one Microsoft ever made, because it wouldn’t come off even after I accidentally made the faceplate hang in midair while the ribbon was still attached. If it keeps shutting down I’ll have to buy some torx bits to get a better look. Hopefully it’s nothing serious like thermal paste.
The top of my Xbox where the ribbon separates it isn’t 2 pieces like yours the top is all one piece do I some how take it apart or will that break the case
For years and years I thought all the holes on top of the Xbox One was for a speaker but that is a fan right? I don't ever hear that fan come on and my Xbox works fine does it only come on if your Xbox is getting extra hot or something

GRT Cosmic ok take the front plate off and put that on last there should be ten pins in a line just raise those up and don’t rip the ribbon cable

You can also use a vacuum to suck all the dust out so that it can work again that's what I did and it worked
