theres a hole on the left side of the disc tray where you can slip in a paper clip to push a disc out manually ( for anyone who has this problem as well )

Any of you that are talking trash about the X have no clue this is the best gaming console to date. Every game I have played on the X is an improvement in every way. The X runs amazing it would be nice to see the gaming community open there minds for a moment and close there mouths. I love my Switch Zelda & Mario are incredible games my Pro is great for the PS exclusives and VR. All the negative garbage is mind boggling the X is my best console purchase in 39 years of gaming.

Thanks a lot Spawn! This video really helped me out. I've had my One X for over a year now (no longer under warranty) so I decided to finally reapply the thermal paste because my console was very loud, especially when playing RDR2. Now it's very quiet!! :D
I can't be assed taking mine apart
I wanna dissemble mine for the same reason. The only thing I'm concerned about is the ribbon cable, not sure how to take it out or even reassemble it. Any info would be appreciated.
@@banginbadger75 The ribbon cables can be removed with just using your fingernails or a pair of tweezers. I don't pull on the ribbon itself, just the plastic ends.

I have a PS4. I hate it. I. Hate. My PS4. It is loud, it is slow, and games just don't run well on it. It was great when I bought it, but now it's a piece of shit. Never buying another PS4. My dad bought himself a PS4 Pro because he's a playstation elitist and my god is that thing fucking annoying. I don't care what everyone else's preferences are, but I'm really sick of the "this console is better than this console" bs because everyone has their own preference. I only like the controllers of the PS4, that's my only reason for not buying an Xbox, so I've converted to Nintendo because the Xbox and PS4 have their own dealbreakers for me. My only issue with Xbox is the controllers though, so at least Xbox has that going for it.
For the record though it's not that the controllers are bad, my hands are just too small to comfortably use an Xbox controller.

Hey man, I took my one x apart and after reassembly, when I plug it back in (not even turn it on) the internal power supply pops and cracks and I can smell it burning, I unplug it immediately. I already replaced one and the second one is doing the same thing, any idea what can be causing it? Everything looks correct otherwise. Pleaassseee help!!
James Nesbit could be a bad connector make sure the console is plugged into the wall not a power strip

Great teardown. I'm still 50-50 on whether or not I want to install a 1TB SSD.
The only reason I wouldn't is if the existing internal drive is shown to be close enough in performance compared to an external SSD. If adding an SSD only gets ~20% better load times I might not bother.

The compound isn't dry- it's thicker than what you are used to... CoolerMaster's Extreme Fusion X1 paste is similar to that stock paste you removed and actually has better thermal conductivity than the MX4 paste you're using- you should get some of that instead!

Thermal compound can be dry
As long as it's not thick and makes full contact with the dye it's fine
It also softens when the console heats up
All the games aside, this is a neat piece of hardware MS has designed. The sheer amount of components packed in is impressive. Good job MS! Now, get working on those first party games!

I pre ordered the XBOX ONE X - Project Scorpio.
When the GOW5 X1X went on pre order I got that too. However I sold my Scorpio as soon as I got my GOW 5 X1X.
I was really surprised how much heavier the Scorpio felt compared to the newer version of X1X.
I didnt weight them and I wish I had, but there was definitely a weight difference.
The regular computer bus is 64 bit single channel and 128 bit dual channel I think. I like how the fuzed the ram alongside the prcessor for heat dissipation very first I seen on a main board. very small compact high density ram.
Nah, this doesn't use traditional DDR RAM at all. There are no "channels" as you are used to thinking about them. It's unified memory architecture exclusively using the 12GB of GDDR5 on a 384-bit wide bus.

I was using this video as a guide to get into my system to try and fix the disc drive (the previous owners kid stuck a penny inside) but I think I may have caused a new problem. The system powers on then right back off again. I'm kinda worried I've went and done what was warned about in this video and damaged the board removing the X clamp. Anyone have any ideas on what I might have done wrong. Btw I've already tried a hard reset using the 3 buttons and that didn't work.

just wanted to know how the xbox one x should be opened properly, because my xbox one X turns off 2 seconds after starting it up. @7:35 you are talking about the South Bridge, which seems to be the problem for me I guess. Is it easy to order a new one somewhere and replace it myself? Any other suggestions what could cause this issue?

My xbox one x quit working. It would not turn on with the controller. I pushed the on off button and it clicks on and does nothing. I unplugged it and plugged it in later and the light came on for a little while and immediately turned off. I was assuming it was the power supply but while watching your video and you talked about the south bridge going bad and now I am thinking the south bridge is bad from you talking about them getting hot. do you repair xbox one x still? what would it cost to have that repair done? thanks enjoyed your video.
