How to Clean Your Xbox One!!

- Hey everybody!! Does your Xbox One shut off randomly or overheat? Does is sound really loud? Maybe it just looks really dusty and you can't imagine what the inside looks like. Not a problem. In this video, I show you how I disassemble your Xbox One so you can clean it. I take this disassembly slow follow along and do this yourself. Most, if not all, parts and tools can be found at any of your local stores.

*DISCLAIMER: The actual cleaning was done off screen because of how bad it was, BUT I do explain what I did and show those areas of emphasis.

A coworker sold me a cheap xbox one but it was really dusty but this tutorial is working really well
just done mine now it’s been 10 years with no real deep clean and for the first time in a long time it’s now running and blowing COOL air out the vents

Just subscribed! Thanks for the info. My original xbox one is like new! I noticed it started lagging a bit. I called Game Room, here in Lincoln, NE, and the guy suggested increasing hard drive storage, but I figured I'd clean it too first. Next step is to buy an external hard drive! Then I won't have to upgrade any time soon.

I got lucky I accidently knocked out that blue connector cable when taking the shell off but luckily no damage was done and I have a clean working Xbox now

I accidentally broke off one of the clips from the back because I didn't know exactly where it was, but thank you for the video! Xbox was overheating, even after I cleaned it, went over to buy some thermal paste and I'll see if that was the issue.

As detailed as you made this tutorial...you know what,I'm going to just leave mine intact as a giant dust wad. I just know I'm going to break something in there.
Just use compressed air. It's not the best method but it does get some of the dust out. So it won't be as dusty.Then just use an eye glasses cleaner to wipe the dust off the top of it if your feeling fancy lol.

Is it possible for the hard drive and it's data to be altered during this process? Mine needs to be cleaned but I am nervous about this issue.

10:06 small detail but when you circled the top right screw hole I noticed that is not where a screw goes. kinda confused me lol.

How the Frick is your xbox so flexible, I can't get past the push and away part cause the case is too stiff to allow any leeway.

Can you please tell me how to contact you ... I tried to open my Xbox but after closing there remains a gap and it's not closing
so let’s say I accidentally forgot about 2 screws that go into the big grey thing to secure it. Would I be fine with not opening it back up because getting it to open was already a challenge
Good day, I have a connection problem with my Xbox One console. My controller is disconnected. I have to keep the controller very close to the console, otherwise I cannot use it. What is the reason? Could it be the blue cable? can you help me please
Doing this to my bfs old one hes had since brand new never cleaned it. I pulled out the wifi card and just about died because i looked under it at the connector that holds it down and saw a pin missing. Had to go back and make sure that pin was supposed to not be there and thankfully it is not suppoed to be there lolol

Probably damaged the ribbon cable. That sounds like a ribbon cable problem. They are very delicate and don't take much to break them.

I just used compressed air to push the dust out. It's not perfect but it does get some of the dust out.
Honestly not that bad! I had to mine today and I was scared at first cause I didn’t wanna mess anything up, and yes the worst part was the ribbon but being careful and patient helps and it’s was easy then it looks
i have taken the ps4 and xboxs (360 and now one ) apart this was worse than the ps4 but not as bad as the 360 beware the ribbon cable though getting the faceplate back on is a pain
I literally had to punch the face plate to get it to clip back in correctly. Such a pain hahaha
My OG Xbox one has C1 to C8 beside all the screws...
And how can I clean the fan?
On closing up, u circle the 8 screw locations, one is incorrect.

You damaged the ribbon cable most likely. It's very easy to break. The only thing you can do now is buy a new console or replace the ribbon cable.

The thing is such a $hit design that I don't suggest taking it apart. The ribbon cable is so short that it is really hard to put back in. The tabs are a nightmare and especially lining up the front hinges first before clipping anything else in and I had to man-handle the hell out of it to get it back together. It's amazing I didn't break it. Next time design something better Microsoft.
I buy a new one like every 4-5 years after that I sell it to repair shops and let them resale it after they clean it or use it for replacement parts.
I just clean mine with compressed air. It's so much easier and you don't have to take anything apart. Saves a lot of agony.
