As someone who grew up without a father I think Asmon missed an important detail: That's the behaviour of someone who grew up fatherless AND without a loving mother, cause I know that bitterness, but I also grew out of it at like 12 and was able to see those kind of gestures as something genuinely adorable that I can use as an example of what I want to provide for my future kids (if I ever have them).

This guy is the very definition of that meme where the guy is riding a bike, puts a stick in the spokes and then blames someone else for falling off.
That reminds me of a Core Memory of mine. I once thought my brakes were pretty underwhelming on my little 1-speed cruiser, so I stuck my feet out and turned them both into the front wheel spokes. I did stop instantly, it bucked my feet out of the wheel pretty much immediately while kicking my butt, literally, as the bike sharply upended itself, and the bike basically bucked me forward and off where I miraculously landed on my feet, was cuffed in the back of the head by my bike seat just under the back of my helmet as if it thought I did something very stupid, and my bike went tumbling forward and bounced a few times on the pavement before landing on its side. I stood there in shock for a minute before I just grabbed my bike, hopped on, and rode away. Even after mostly forgetting that memory, I literally cannot put my feet between the spokes of a wheel, even if the wheel isn't spinning, because my hindbrain remembers my old bike's rebuke of my actions.
@@Spraytaint I've been fortunate to have never broken anything in my childhood, the only experience I have breaking anything is tearing my LCL and the cartilage in my knee due to not lifting my heel off the ground while trying to pivot while wearing sticky eye-searing neon green Nike shoes on a sticky linoleum floor. It was then that I learned the ankle is far more resistant to rotation than the knee is and its a lesson that stuck with me over the 7 or so years since then, I was in the middle of high school back then.

Mine too. Although, I don't blame him. My mother is Satan and tried to devour his soul. He left when I was 2. Moved to south east asian (the other side of the planet), then died when I was 20. He was an awesome guy. He just got mixed up with the wrong woman.
My step dad didn't cook much for me, but when he did it was simple... he made grilled cheese sandwiches, fried potatoes, and popcorn. I miss him 😢

Not even about being poor. It's just about not being loved by parents. I'm sure many poor people, including me, see her video as very wholesome.
Some of us lost a parent, some of us had a shit parent. Seeing people with good parents is a feel good moment. Being jealous of other people's success and happiness is easy to learn but the worst quality you can have in a human being.
We're community creatures, we're mammals who evolved in groups working together. Wanting others to succeed is just great for everyone around you. And I personally believe that you do rub off on people, your behaviours and moods. Being nice and respectful to people, happy for their accomplishments just returns you with people who do the same for you.
I understand the jealousy because my own parents sucked too. Nothing hurts more than seeing loving and caring parents, something you never had yourself. But i would never lash out like that.

I have two adult children. I often cook dinner for them. Because while I'm not perfect, I like doing things for my kids. And something as simple as making dinner for someone is a quiet way of saying you care. Dude is just butt-hurt because someone has a good family life.
Edit: I just went back to the beginning of the video, she clearly says and I quote, "When I told my dad I was going to be getting him the same pans Gordon Ramsey..." and the video clearly shows her dad cooking WITH the flipping pans. She bought her dad the pans and he was trying them out by making food with them. It's almost like, I don't know, maybe her dad is a fan of Gordon Ramsey and she :gasp: bought her dad a gift that he's happy to have them. In case anyone cares, the full set is $699.99. Maybe her dad really wanted them, but didn't feel like spending that kinda cash on cooking implements for himself was reasonable. But his daughter was like, "My dad deserves a nice gift..." and she plunks down for it. Maybe I'm reading too much wholesomeness into it, but better that than the utter shitstorm this grown ass man has placed himself in.

I'm laughing at the idea of Ramsay shilling his overpriced pans to his unknowing audience. He already makes the most low energy, patronising TV that people eat up episode after episode. Completely formulaic, scripted, the same every time, made to soften up the audience so that the ad-breaks hit harder. But no, that's not enough easy coin, he must also try to get $699 for some cheap chinese-made pans.
That's the impression I got: that she got him a nice gift and he was like "Oh thank you so much! I want to break these in right now, how about I cook you something?" I feel bad for the guy that left the comment a bit. I had a bad upbringing too, Mom left when I was like 3, dad was an alcoholic and i had to work to buy my own food and clothes starting at like 12 years old. We had no food, utilities or clean clothes.
I was shit on by quite literally everyone in my life, I took care of my dad as at one point from all the drinking he had cirrhosis which became cancer. He would bleed from his nose so much you could taste the blood in the air. Imagine waking up to a dad covered in blood and still just drinking himself silly then carrying him to the bathroom daily.
Nowadays my dad is dead, brother is dead and I saw it coming, they both went ham on all the worst things life offers. For context while I was dealing with this I had friends saying they wanted to kill themselves because their parents bought them the wrong kind of car, I had to talk them out of suicide 3 or 4 times.
Despite all that I feel like blaming the world just makes it all worse for everyone, you can't be the person maintaining the negativity in your life and spreading it to others like a disease. I'm not gonna be the 🤓☝ with the "actually you can't issue a global statement unless you know for certain..." argument. I just feel some projecting going on, some unresolved trauma. Maybe it's a cry for hepl like "nobody cares about me" or whatever, but it looks a bit like a douchebag move. A user shared a horrible story relevant to the topic and summed it up with a positive moral. I care about that stuff, I can relate to some of it, notice my own mistakes and biases in other bits of it. Please don't be a dick.

He could have failed to reply to her e-mail, he could have sent a fake message about how the company would 'look into it', he could have refrained from using the company account after the backlash and just used his personal account, he could have not mentioned the e-mail conversation on the tiktok comments, he could have let it go when everyone else had already moved on, he could have refrained from placing that stupid banner on his website, he could not have written those butthurt walls of text on his company's public profile, and in every step of the way, he chose to continue the drama. For him to pretend that she was the one stoking the fire is just patheitc.

Lol, Tec is a whole other level of loud. I get where he’s coming from, I’m that way with moody and unpredictable people. I have a similar mindset of seeing what I call “the brink.” When you really see a person lose it and just crack mentally, it’s pretty fucking scary if you care about them, and it’s never the same afterwards. I personally don’t want to have any business with those kinds of people because I can’t understand their perspective and therefore can’t give them the support that they want, but if someone is loud and that’s just how they are, I can be prepared for that mentally and can know what to expect pretty easily.
