- Welcome back to part three of The Peak Pilgrimage in the Peak District. This is the last leg of our three-day trail which started in Ilam, Staffordshire. The total distance is 35 miles, so we chose the low route passing Curbar. The high route passes through Grindleford and is a little longer.
We began the day in Over Haddon, descend down to Bakewell, onto Edensor and the Chatsworth Park followed by Baslow, along the River Derwent towards Curbar, Stoney Middleton and finished in Eyam.

Loved it all. Chatsworth..ilam dovedale. Bakewell.. been going since 70s.. now we 54yr together and a golden wedding under our belt last sept.spent on peak rail afternoon tea.. magic 👍

Nice one Rachel. Brings back some memories of when me and my better half did it. A useless piece of info is that Bakewell is the only town to be in the Peak District National Park. Happy New Year, and I hope 2024 is a good one 👍

You’ll love it. If you can, try and get accommodation in Hartington, it does make life a little easier. It’s mostly flat and low level, the steep sections are few and short and sharp. X
@ramblingracheluk I've found a campsite just on from Hartington called Trail View campsite. So first day in about 12 miles.
