  • In this video I fix the no low beam headlight (day time running lights) condition in this Chevrolet Trailblazer. The low beam headlights weren't coming on. The high beam lights work perfectly. I discovered it was a pretty simple fix! Just needed to replace the Headlamp Driver Module (HDM) relay.

      Funny cuz it seems like a whole mess of things want to fail all at once in a family members' '04. Hoping to get it all fixed up if they ever let me! It really is a nice vehicle. And I used to be completely against SUVs.

    Thank you a million times over for your easy to understand video. My husband is disabled and I was beside myself with my low beam headlights not working. I went to Auto Zone, told the guy what I wanted and purchased the relay switch and now I have lights once again. You taught an "old lady" how to do a simple fix on my Trail Blazer and I can't thank you enough. Please keep posting "fixes" for Trail Blazers on You Tube - I'm a fan for sure!!!!

    Thank you for this video. We were having this problem with our Envoy. My son insisted it was something that was going to be expensive and would have to go into the shop. After watching this, I went out and to the car to check this. My son came out and insisted it wasn't this but I convinced him to humor me and check it out just the same. We didn't have a spare but switched the two around to see if that was the problem and sure enough it was. He is now out looking for the part. Thank you again, this video was real easy to follow and understand.

    Brilliant and illuminating video! I had checked the two fuses. They were good. I bought new #9006 bulbs. Put one in. Didn't work. Only then did I do a Google/CZcams search. Lo and behold, it was the Headlamp Driver Module (HDM) relay. There are two identical relays right next to each other in my 2006 Chevy Traiblazer L6. I swapped them and the low beams started working. The other relay is for fan control. On my way to the auto parts store for a new HDM relay. In the old days, we never had solid state relays to complicate auto maintenance and repair.

  • @Hiim0094
    @Hiim0094 Před 3 lety

    2 minutes in, right as you said the 2002s have 2 relays you can swap and test out, I paused everything. I went outside and gave the headlights on the old trailblazer another try. Holy smokes!! It actually worked! I checked fuse 3,4,5&6 and didnt see any that were blown. All I could think of doing at that point was either trying my luck on youtube and or pulling a wiring diagram. And sir you came through Thank You!

    Wow that's a nice 2009 trailblazer so I have the same type model mine is a 2007. Can't believe my headlight finally burnt out on the right side all these years later. That was an easy one to replace so I can see the one on the left side is definitely dimmer. That's the hard one to replace. Can't believe how nice his glasses on his light I was just buffing mine today made them look much better but not as good as his I'm thinking about taking some really fine sandpaper I have and sanding one area of it to see if it helps. The sandpapers for like sanding clear coat. One time I saw a 2009 trailblazer for sale pretty good price. Probably as good a shape as mine which is excellent condition. When I saw the mileage I was like no way. It had $225,000 mi on it and at the time my car only had 175,000 mi on it. So it's 2 years newer and 75,000 mi more. And I know I have replaced everything on my car. You know those two little empty holes down by the fog lights well I found a square halogen light that's just a little bit brighter than a fog light. And I installed them down there so when I'm going through fog I can flip a switch and turn them on wow it is great.

    I have an 07 TB. Over the past few weeks my low beams would just go off while driving down the road at night. Kinda scary in some dark areas of town. It seems pretty random, but I have noticed that the lights seem to get a little dimmer before going out. I don't think the light sensor up on the dash has ever worked. The low beam headlights only come on when shifting out of Park, or in the manual on position. Always have low beams at beginning of trip though. I rarely notice the lights during the daytime. Will checkout AZ and AAP later when they open to get a new relay
