On Izzy and the candles: In S1 there's multiple scenes of Izzy putting his hands close to the flames of candles. Playing with danger, keeping the danger close, enjoying the potential of getting hurt. It suited his S1 character. Him cutting through the flame to put them out I believe is hinting at his S2 character development.
I literally watched Good Omens season 2 and then thought I could cope with the ending by watching OFMD for the first time and I was just left distraught. Thankfully I don't have to wait a year and a half to get my fix, just a couple months lol.

I absolutely agree with the Ed falls overboard during the storm theory, I think you can even see for a few frames that the right arm of whoever fell in didn't have a sleeve. Also, Stede twirling with the red coat and his sparkly pants has not left my brain since I watched the teaser, I'm going insane 😅 I can't wait for October 5th to get here, I have a mighty need for this, I've been waiting for it since last March 😅 and especially after good omens 2 I need something to cheer me up (I'm absolutely anticipating for this to ruin me, too, but at least I'll have it 😅)
now that i’m watching it here. i think the beach wash up of ed is like a parallel to what he was planning with stede. have him wash up in blackbeard’s clothes, unrecognizable. i think the ocean washes away the kraken make up and now he’s edward and has to survive on an island.
also, someone else mentioned it could be button’s shirt that blackbeard is wearing. it looks very similar and either it could be dirtier or it could be lighting.
They definitely cut the trailer to make it look like Ed was going after Stede hard lol they really ramped up the revenge feel of it. I'm liking your theories!! ⚠️SPOILER WARNING ⚠️ Ok so back in December, Fernando Frias, a director for some of the new episodes, posted some bts pics of the set of OFMD on his IG story, and one of them had a selfie with him and Nathan Foad in a completely different costume, and a full grown beard. And the girl with the pigtails (played by Ruibo Qian) is THEORIZED to be Zheng Yi Sao, a real life female Chinese pirate (although she started her reign of piracy much later than Stede and BB so idk) And in the teaser pic at 10:02, we see the crew in those uniforms looking at something and are absolutely shocked, with Pete being the most ecstatic, almost looking like he’s about to cry with joy (which was me when I saw the pics and teaser tbh) My working theory is that the crew ran into Zheng Yi Sao’s crew and started working with them, and at some point, it’s revealed that Lucius is alive and the crew are surprised to see him. It also explains why Pete’s reaction stood out the most, it’s because Lucius is alive and has been taken under Zheng Yi Sao’s wing and became a badass pirate. Again, a working theory, but I’m super excited to see how it’ll go down, bc personally I don’t think Lucius is dead. At all.

Left sleeve: Leather is good protection vs knives and other sharp shit. Ed is right-handed. His right sleeve is missing so he has maximum movement while fighting. The left sleeve acts as a built-in shield, which leaves his left hand free. So, it's a perfect design for a down-and-dirty fighter used to fighting in close quarters.
I think the person who is singing on the revenge could be captain kid since he is name dropped in s1 and is one of the only famous pirates we haven't seen yet
