Commenting in the beginning so this theory might come up later in the video, but I think crowley had a high position in heaven before he fell after all when he was going through gabriel's file he could only open it because he used to be an archangel. We also find out that an archangel was cast out of heaven before Gabriel but that doesn't mean it was Crowley...or does it....Maybe that explains the look Metatron gave Crowley before he took Azi, they've definitely interacted before and we'll probably explore that more in the next season

Just a note from the beginning segment of the video: you mentioned that you didn't really like that the exterminations were "cancelled" after the battle. They didn't mean extermination*s* plural, they just meant THAT particular extermination (the one that came early) was cancelled (reasonably so, as their leader was killed so they fell back). That doesn't mean that all future exterminations are cancelled, at least not that we know of yet 👍

I thought I liked everything about Our Flag Means Death, but after rewatching the whole series a thousand times, I noticed some scenes that disturbed me a lot in the overall scenario. But I kept wondering why, because all in all I like this show ! And here, you answered my frustrating question. AND ANALYSED IT. Thank you a lot because I don't like to feel not critical enough towards what I really like. Especially shows that are a good medium for representations in the queer comunity. sorry to be commenting on this literally months later, ive been on a gomens kick recently BUT. i wholeheartedly agree with the notion that "the magic trick you didnt see" theory is a fundamental misunderstanding of the characters, as well as the rest of these theories. there have been a plethora of tv shows and books and just media in general where ive seen theories that are well thought out and i enjoy, but good omens isnt one of them because i dont? necessarily think its written with the intent to be theorized and speculated on, at least not the way people are doing it. i think its written to just... be a story? obviously people are going to have their theories, and i even like some of them, but theres a few that change the entire plot and point of the series, and those are the ones that make me incredibly irate. the series has never really shied away from what it meant, and i think everything we've seen thusfar has been exactly what happened for that simple fact. idk i might be incredibly off base here, and of course people are entitled to their opinions regardless of whether i agree with them or not, but i just feel like a lot of theories truly are just a fundamental lack of understanding of the characters, and/or an inability to comprehend what theyre reading.

Just found your channel and this video (I had read the book before, but only watched the series three month ago, and already started to avoid too much GO content, because theories are getting wild). I wanted to say: I totally agree with you! S2E2 also is my favourite GO episode and it is because of the Job minisode, especially the last scene ('I'm a demon, I lied' gets me every time). The minisode tells us a lot about how the relationship between Crowley/Crawly and Aziraphale developed, but it is also so just so beautifully done in so many details. For example, noticed that in the scene with the children Crowley is set up against the window and from one camera angle appears to have a halo (there is a short moment where you can see this at 12:29 in this video). And earlier, when he talks to Job and asks about the children, he is standing in the rays of sunlight falling through the damaged roof. Later, rays of light mark the arrival of Gabriel and the other angels. And when Aziraphale enters the scene through the door, there are also rays of light. What great symbolism! Another important moment, imo, is just before Crowley sends everyone to the cellar. It obviously was his plan, but he hesitates for a moment, contemplating whether to trust Aziraphale (I don’t want to go into too much detail here). What I love about the last scene - except for the sheer beauty, perfect music and brilliant acting - is, that it is the only scene I can remember, where they both let down their guard and are totally honest (for a brief moment). They are not even friends, yet. And although they kind of sit on the same rock, it actually are two pieces of what once was one rock, and they sit as far apart as possible. Together, yet each on his own. What puzzles me slightly in the minisode is Aziraphale saying ‘I don’t suppose he’s getting any answers’, and also Crowley’s reaction, because it clearly is God asking the questions, not Job. It is like that in the Bible, too (mainly Job 38 and 39 is God asking rhetorical questions). But then, again, I love the irony that one of the questions we get to hear is ‘Did you set the constellations in the sky?’ Sorry for writing so much 😀

Neil Gaiman confirmed that this separation was necessary, and I agree. He also said this was just the beginning of their (now official) love story. David Tennant teased with many kisses in S3, I hope it is real. I don't think they will be angry for a long time. P.S.: some people in the fandom try to find out who Crowley was, some of them think he was Raphael, because in the Judaism, there were three Archangels: Gabriel, Michael and Raphael, and the last one is not there.

you brought up a lot of my own qualms when the show was first released, and it's been some time since i've last given it much thought, so excuse the long comment while i try to put it into words i think the only reason the show got made to cash in on Tom's popularity with women, so the only reason they ever had a romantic subplot was to satisfy that assumed demand. in the movies, hes relegated as thor's naughty younger brother and not a terrifying force of mischief, and instead of doing a character study and exploring his strengths outside of his brother's influence, they wrote a shitty romcom that was literally selfcest... now its hilarious [and makes sense for his character] that loki would immediately try to literally fuck himself, and they're cowards for not having Tom in the greenscreen making out with an invisible clone. HOWEVER it is stupid and lacks a driving force, the timeline cops were underdeveloped, mobius was a wasted character, and the ending made zero sense in the context of the universe [not that any multidimentional story could ever make sense, its like space magic ig] the best thing to come out of this show is the ship! yes! mobius deserves better than a narcissistic asshole for a partner, but hey at least loki can hook up with someone other than himself or his brother. the animation was also beautiful, but i think with a budget that comes from d*sney it'd be a shock if they underfunded the cgi department. i do think the writing was bad bc most of the decisions were made by higher-ups or dictated by test audience reviews, instead of people who are familiar with the comics. but at this point, the MCU cannot and will never try to recreate good stories. we see that clearly written out in the way they trashed a perfectly good opportunity to bring new life and depth to an already beloved character [loki, still talking about loki]

Actually I think there is ONE straight couple kinda in this season: That is Gabriel and Beelzabub. But they are also supernatural entities so I don't know if it counts.

the biggest negative of this season was the lack of bouncing around in plots. it's a small negative, I loved this season over all, that was the biggest change to me otherwise it felt very organic

Regarding no straight couples in Season 2, yes that is correct. There are characters who are not in relationships and there are gay couples and one couple with a cis-male-presenting person and a nonbinary-presenting person (the magic shop owner and their beloved spouse) and that is it! I never realized it till now.

I was firmly on the Lokius ship right from the beginning and I'm actually okay that they weren't canon by the end, mainly because I feel that the focus of the Loki series was for him to have the opportunity to heal his relationship with himself. Tom Hiddleston stated at one point that in order to have a healthy relationship with someone else, you first have to have a healthy relationship with yourself and that's kind of what this show was about. The fact that the show left both Loki and Mobius alone and the way they kept the link between them with that last line "let time pass" makes me think their story isn't finished in the MCU. I'm not holding my breath that they'll be canon in the future, but I am hopeful.

Everything was solid until ep 8 and then they gave it a rushed ending because they knew they weren’t to get a season 3. I feel the ep was supposed to end when the gang decide to get revenge on Izzy’s murderer, but then they shot Ed/Stede waving at the revenge as everyone else decided to move on. The Inn ending would have been okay for a s3 where Ed and Stede both finally come to a peace of giving up the pirate life. But at the beginning of the episode you had Ed deciding to be a pirate again, and Stede was coming into his own as a pirate. They weren’t ready to give up the life yet. Idk why we weren’t given 10 episodes and why we couldn’t have had a third season. I blame the HBO/Warner merger for bungling so much as OFMD was bringing in an audience to the streaming platform Another thing I didn’t like was them destroying Olu/Jim after the s1 build up when in canon the crew had been separated for only a few months. As much as I like who Olu and Jim ultimately end up with, had we had time to develop it wouldn’t have felt like it was doing a 180 between seasons.

in regard to the character designs, Vivziepop explained it. when Sinners die and go to Hell, they're given Demon forms that act as a reflection of their life and death. meanwhile, Winners, the souls who go to Heaven, are given Angel forms with the same purpose. about the suits, each character wears a different type of outfit depending on the time period they died in and their status in life. for example, Sir Pentious died in 1888, and was an inventor in life, so they gave him a suit and top hat.

There's ONE (1) crack-pot theory I accept, and it's the "The Magic Trick You Didn't See". It makes incredible sense, if you take the Book of Life as a book in which all life is described into and written, like a book (for example, I'm writing this comment and this comment is described in the Book of Life) instead of a list of all the lives that ever existed and ever will exist (more like a census book, which was what I understood the book being).

We used to be litteraly killed or burnt at the stake for being gay... During 2nd world war, they put a pink triangle on our chest and killed us by thousands (probably hundred-thousands). The matriarchy got censured wayy back in the Sumerian/Babylonian times so its actually hard to get data on that topic. So thats just an idea, but she definetely exists. She was like boots on the ground defending and protecting me from things you dont wanna know about. While he was "applying" powerful seals on me for strong protection. And thats how I knew God was real, and that this feminine force was real too. Very fierce, with a strong sense of justice and a huge "heart". ^^ Im very grateful for the feminine energy, it really helps healing my broken heat and fractured soul. Still a work in progress, too much trauma but yeah. Love seeing your opinions on Hazbin. I definitely agree that the ending could have been paced better. I will say Mimzy was definitely useful for quite a few set ups, like the Husk and Alastor interactions and Lucifer pointing out that sinners weren’t redeemable to Charlie and causing her to voice her upset with Lucifer. I do agree that she seemed mostly pointless as an actual character though and was really only there for the plot set-up.

Although I kinda don’t agree with like 90% of your review the one thing I do agree with you on is the fight between Adam and Alastor. There was a lot of build up of how powerful Alastor is but there was no pay off at the end. Also, a lot of people haven’t picked up on this, but the destruction of Alastors staff was (poorly) foreshadowed. The staff is not just a tool but an extension of himself. It’s always in his hands, twirling it around, stamping it into the ground and he hands it to Charlie as a way to show that he also sees her as an extension of himself. Alastor loses the fight to Adam cause he doesn’t make the necessary modifications to his staff with angelic steel like how everyone else modified their weapons. Alastor kinda lives in the past and doesn’t like change. He doesn’t realize that he can’t fight Adam the same way he fought the overlords during his rise to power. This is ultimately what costs him the fight. Unfortunately Amazon made the creative team force everything into only 8 episodes so unless you’re REALLY paying attention, all of this foreshadowing goes unnoticed by most people and Alastors defeat comes out of left field.

Alright, somebody else said their own thing about Luci showing up but I'm gonna add my thing in because there is way more foreshadowing for this one. 1) The first people Lucifer says Hi to are important - Charlie, obviously, his kid his pride and joy. Keekee, the key to the hotel, welcomes him happily. And then, Razzle And Dazzle, which he says to (paraphrased i think) "Are you taking care of my little girl? You better be". Which implies they have an actual role in her life - it gets expanded on when she turns demon and they turn with her. So, they're like, her Guardians, nice, good we established that. 2) In the song Al and Luci have, one of the lines Luci sings to Charlie is that "It won't cost you a sacrificial lamb." (paraphrased) while DAZZLE is shown, tied up on the table like a sacrifice. So there is that foreshadowing, but it also shows that they're connected with the Morningstars as they show up more in Lucifers part. 3) Dazzle is the one to die, sacrificing his life for the power couple of the show. And after his death who shows up and says they're sorry for being late? Lucifer. Lucifer in general has actual motives to show up. As it's shown in "More than anything" he's scared of Heaven (Angels) hurting Charlie. That is his biggest fear. In the same song he is shown putting Charlie in the spotlight while also being there to catch her if she falls. Which is what he does in the finale. Like, straight up - he shows up when Charlie needs his help and catches her, twice actually. 4) "But why couldn't Alastor or Charlie beat Adam?" (ignoring that Nifty killed that bitch, as she should btw) Because the entire season Alastor is the one showing off his powers and defending the hotel. Charlie does nothing like that - she stays back even though she is more powerful than him, she is just very inexperienced (which is interesting, but its not important right now) - Alastor is trying to seem like the biggest and scariest motherfucker around, picking a fight with the literal King of Hell just to get under his skin, until he picks a fight with Adam, who does not have to play nice with him like Lucifer had to, and he beats him. Alastor needed to be humbled after showing off the entire season for no reason other than trying to gain control and get himself on Charlie's good side (he is not fighting for Love like everyone else is, wink wink). Which leaves Charlie as the strongest, and she's the biggest pacifist around. That girl does get mad, so many times this season but she has no actual experience with her powers (as shown with her unlocking one protecting her dad). So, she can't win either. And Lucifer has to show that he did actually mean what he said and sang to his kid. Anyways, this is way too long but I was planning to talk about this either way. It is kinda sad that the actual time the show does "show and tell" properly people don't really pick up on it. Also, Adam and Lucifer had to fight at some point, we needed something from these two, as they literally know each other from the beginning of the world lmao. Also this is not negative or anything, I'm just a yapper when I'm passionate about something and sleep-deprived.

On episode 8’s Lucifer-ex-machina: I automatically assumed that he showed up when he did because of his deal with Adam that we heard about in episode 1. “Don’t interfere with the exterminations, and we don’t go after hellborn demons (I.e. Charlie)”, so he literally couldn’t step in until Adam threatened Charlie’s life. Either that, or it was after Lute killed Dazzle, who was a hellborn creature? Guess he did charge a sacrificial lamb in the end. Either way, Adam’s the one who broke the deal, and that avoids future problems with heaven! Of course, the Doylist answer is definitely plot reasons. 😂 I do hope that Lucifer sticks around the hotel a bit more in s2 now that he’s got a penthouse across from Alastor’s radio tower (hilarious), but this also concerns me a bit. If the king of hell (who is immortal and stronger than absolutely everyone there AND most people in heaven) is just chilling in your kitchen, how do you realistically maintain the stakes?? Yes, Charlie is quite independent and likely would go at things on her own out of sheer habit. But like, the Vees could come knocking with an entire army, but if Lucifer’s just doing paperwork in his office what can they realistically do, yanno? He could vaporise them. The writers could make him unavailable on official Hell business some days, but idk. What do you think about this? Makes me a bit paranoid they’re gonna kill him down the line, he’s too powerful and too wholesome, and that’s a mentor/parent death flag if I’ve ever seen one. I hope they don’t httyd 2 us, I don’t think I can handle another Stoick and Valka bittersweet reunion. 🫠

From first watch, I interpreted a time jump in the Finale songs. It’s a song, the perfect format to condense a season one finale by alluding to what might happen in the next season. This song’s quick format and builds and different perspectives song lends to the indication of time passing. Particularly Vox’s portion shows that Alastor could have been gone for a while and whatever that length of time was is how long the hotel spent in construction.

I've just investigated a little, because I remember reading about it! In Angel's wiki page there's a bit of info where Vivziepop says that there's a particular reason he is so brightly colored, and that she wants to explore it in the show. Pink it is a blend between red and white, heaven and hell... So I wonder if the line was particularly blurry when it came to decide where he should've end up. Maybe that's the same for his twin sister (she even wears more black than him).

The Ser Pentious sex room gag in the club called "Consent" was super weird... it worked as the third part of his "I'm doing (blank) for everybody" joke, but the way he looked so distressed being pulled into the room gave me bad vibes and was inconsistent with the overall theme of the show. I've seen fan speculation that he didn't actually get assaulted in there, because he seems fine and his his clothes are all in order when we see him next, but that is so ambiguous... tbh that was the only part of the show i thought was in genuine poor taste.
