- We put an ebay budget built d16z6 on the dyno and make 300HP no problem. D16Z6 Vitara build, with a Hondata S300, 1000cc injectors and an AEM 320LPH pump, the car still has plenty left in it. Stay tuned.

And did you change pump and injectors when it went back I'm in the process of putting my built z6 together shooting for above 500hp it has 1000cc and a 450. I'm pretty sure I'll need more injector just looking for what you guys had in it.

Man I remember a million years ago taking the air box lid off my boy's mom's EX coupe and really hearing VTEC for the first time..
That was it, been a Honda guy ever since... I do love a big ol V8 though too

@@kaybevang536there are definitely v8s with variable valve timing :) Toyota's 1uz for instance, 4.0 quad overhead cam v8 and some models had vvt-i which is Toyotas version of vtec but the non vvti engines are actually more sought after. Some big horsepower Honda builds actually eliminate vtec as well.

You just need forged pistons and connecting rods, a decent turbo kit, and some new injectors.
@@vtec_c1loop844 you don't need forged pistons, plenty of d series making 500+ on Vitara cast pistons :). You also need quite a few other things you've not listed, such as an uprated fuel pump and a tuning solution to name a couple :)
On f series 300hp is 100% capable they are a bigger motor than d series, plenty of people have made 300hp with just headstuds

Actually the ZC kinda started Honda off on their 4 cylinder performance route, SOHC D/F series stuff really came about because it’s so cheap and plentiful. Never really widely used for motor sports though.
@@kennethpowers8995 back in the early 90's before the ZC and then B series swaps were happening, the 88-91 Civic and CRX SI's were rocking the D16A6 and surprising people left and right due to their power to weight ratios. ZC's were definitely a huge upgrade, but I feel the A6 got it started. Just my opinion though.

I’m on the same page a 300hp daily is what I want to experience while keeping A/C and reliability I’m not even dreaming in the 500s I thinks it’s obtainable I just need to do plenty of research.

He's running e85 it uses alot more injector than pump gas

oh NM i just realized e85, more fuel needed so higher duty cycle % numbers, im like wtf I got a d16 with 1000cc injectors and no where near 95% duty cycle lol
Yea I had to upgrade my wireing from the fuel pump and I had my boosted solenoid plumed wrong but i took it back and made 420hp after I changed that stuff

I know speedfactory rods are around $400 and vitara pistons are $150ish, $100 for a fuel pump, prolly $200 for injectors and maybe $1000 for the turbo kit

Should easily be able to outrun a new Civic Type R in a straight line. More power, less weight, fraction of the cost.
I made 212 in my stock z6 with ebay turbokit and raced a type r with bolt on and he beat me by only 2 cars at 300 it should walk a type r
The new civic type r is a tank and only making 300hp at the crank. Not fast. Any turbo coupe or hatchback making 230hp or more at the wheels will murder a type r with ease🤘
Why does everyone put a breather filter on the valve cover you’re supposed to put an oil catch can you’re losing the vacuum in your engine
