  • How to break in Dr. Martens fast and easy with this freezing trick. I've been wearing Dr. Martens since the 90's and I know first hand that some pairs are harder to break in than others. I found a super easy trick to get those stubborn pairs broken in and on your feet!

    I’ve done this with some thrifted Uggs but have never used my brain power to do it with my Jadons that cause my heel to literally bleed to death . Thank you.

    I found you on TikTok and I’m trying this method as we speak! Just put my Dr Marten Trash Vaudeville Jadons in the freezer. Fingers crossed!! I’m obsessed with these but after only 5 minutes I know they’ll kill the tops of my toes.

    I'm glad you addressed the vegan part early on cause I literally came here to see if the vegan ones could handle this method 😂

      You are very welcome. For vegan - I would warm them up with a hairdryer and then put them on with thick socks. They shouldn't need as much work to get them broken in. Hope this helps!

      I totally agree, I only purchase true leather shoes but I understand the vegan leather although I wouldn’t want the material to break. That would be such a. Shame 😞

      @@grayhairandtattoos think I need to leave them in the freezer longer as they did stretch them but not enough. I'm trying to clear out a few bits in the freezer so I can try again. I only left for a day and a half, sadly it wasn't enough x

    I just got some brand new platform molly doc martens. The seam just below the lacing is digging into my foot and making them unbreakable to wear. I'm going to try this and see how it goes. I really hope it helps.

      I would love to hear how this works for you. You can also try using their Wonder Balsam on the inside to help soften up the leather.

    Would this work with the doc marten sandals? The straps are soooo insanely tight on my feet they strip the skin right off my feet.

    Got the Sinclair yesterday. 6 fits snug and 7 is way too big. So we shall see :)

    Hey! I found you through tiktok and I’m excited to try this, just bought my first pair of docs last week💗 Sadly didn’t do my research beforehand so I got sore feet’s and blisters😭 I have a question, did you freeze cold, hot or lukewarm water when you did this method? Thanks for sharing your video btw, so helpful! I also got the Jadon docs in black with fur, super excited to properly wear them🥰

      Hi There - I'm not sure how the fur will do in the freezer. I've only done the leather ones with no lining. Jadons are known for being hard to break in. Try using the Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam and super think socks. You can also warm up the leather with a hair dryer before wearing them to help soften the leather. I hope this helps!

      @@grayhairandtattoos thank you! It went Well, But i had mine in 4 days instead of 3. I took them about after the first initial 3 days and they still hurt a bit after a day of walking so I put them in again for another day, that helped🥰

      I wouldn't use it on soft leather. Try warming up the leather with your hair dryer then wear them around the house with thick socks. :)

    My dr marten fit good everywhere except on top of my foot the seem on top hurts the top of my foot what can i do?

      I would warm up the leather with your hair dryer then use their Wonder Balsam - you will need to move that leather around as much as possible ti soften up the leather. Hope this helps

    I got a size five and it’s snugged from the toes I was wondering if i should size up to a six I don’t wanna return them cuz they are out of stock of size 6 if I do this method will it work and I don’t have to return cuz I can fit size five and six that’s why

      Here’s the thing - they are going to stretch and if you size up they will still stretch and end up too big. It’s a tough call but personally I would try stretching them

      Hi There - I would use it before and after. I love that stuff and it will keep you leather looking good and you can't use it too much!!!

      @@grayhairandtattoos I put the bags in and they leaked a little bit of water on the left shoe but left them in the freezer for three days and came out great. I wear them around the house before I take them outside. Great tip thanks I will remember this tip for next time and buy better bags

    I brought the black soft leather Jadons and they squeak like crazy!!! Do you have a method for the squeaking? I've never experienced this with my doc martens in the past...

      I have had a couple of squeaky ones and once the leather breaks in and softens the squeak should go away. I would try using their Wonder Balsam to help soften and condition the leather. I hope this helps!

      No - I wouldn't use this one patent leather. It will ruin your shoes.

    Can these be done to Suede Boots? I just got some Purple Suede Maryjanes and I'm afraid the color may be ruined.

      Hi there - I wouldn't do this to the suede. Instead try warming them up with a hair dryer and wear them around the house until they are broken in. Hope this helps!

    Is this a one time thing, or do you have to do it again later to keep from stiffening up?

      This is a one and done - Once the leather is stretched it should stay that way.

      I only suggest this with leather boots. Are your palladium boots cloth or leather?

    I’m scared I went one size too big with my docs because mine don’t feel small or bother me, they even feel loose !!! hearing everyone say they need this crazy methods really scare me :(

      mine fit me just right but the leather is tight and sturdy and sort of pokey. so I'm freezing them tonight and I'm hoping they'll be as playable as Lonnie's are in this video. it's less that people are getting the wrong size and more like breaking them in for comfort

      It should work as long as they are the leather ones. I've done this with both the boot and the loafer.

      Hello - Yes that was happening with mine and why I froze them. I wouldn't freeze them if your heel is slipping and that's what is chewing up your heel. If they as slipping get some mole skin for the back of the boot. If they fit fine but are just eating your heel then freeze them and soften the leather. Hope this helps!

      Don't freeze them. Try warming them up with a hair dryer and then wear super thick socks around the house. This should work.

      I wear Adidas or Nike padded sole socks. I have Dr. Martens socks, but they seem to run a little large for me.
