    I love Marseilles decks and the colourful Fournier version was the first deck I ever owned and the one I learnt to read with. I still adore it and also the wonderful Spanish Tarot - they never fail to cheer me up! The Kaplan Angel Tarot (? by US Games) is a gorgeous earth-toned version of the Marseilles which I'm very fond of, along with the Vandeborre which I also think of as very earthy (particularly with Bacchus as the Heirophant!) One of my very favourites though which one doesn't see very often is the Tarot D'Epinal - I'd climb a mountain to get at that beautiful blue that is woven throughout the deck, it's a great friend of mine! I do like the Tarot de Blain which you showed, and also the Tarot Classic (it's kind of psychedelic!) Very enjoyable video, thankyou!

      @tarotmap  Před 5 lety +1

      Tanawylfen the Epinal tarot looks cool! Vintage look :) I don’t have the Angel tarot but saw it a few times online and it is a sweet deck. Thank you for sharing these decks! 🙏

      @redstarbetty7997 Před 5 lety

      If I'm honest one of the things which really sold the Epinal to me (aside from the wonderful vintage look) was the Devil's pants - they're a high point of the deck in my opinion, and like someone made them out of a lampshade lol!

    Thank you for the great video. I appreciate that you shared the names of the cards at the beginning and again at the end of each section. In the Cary-Yale, there was a female figure with two attendants behind her-- was she a female Hierophant or one of the queens? I think I saw the Empress a couple cards later. I've been thinking about getting a Marseilles deck... now I have too many choices! I like the different Tower and Moon in the Jacques Vieville, but the Marshmallow may be at the top of my list right now.

    A beautiful array of TdM, Kasia!! ❤️ Not a collector, hey?? haha!! Just kidding.🤣 Personally, I never really felt the urge to delve into TdM. I always appreciated the artwork along with the history of the classic decks, however my needs were met via some beautiful picture books that I had. Then, out of the blue, my friend's mother gifted me her Spanish Tarot. She purchased it herself in the late 70s, which makes it soooo special. I was totally happy with that deck for quite some time. Only over recent years with TdM becoming a growing trend, did I feel inspired enough to take another look. Videos from yourself, Wolf of Coins, Cards and Cups, Tom B (to name a few) changed that. Now, I own a few! La Corte Dei Tarocchi (of course!), Tarot de Maria Celia (😍) and recently, I walked into the crystal shop in Nimbin (you know the one!) and there on the shelf sat a TdM. A standard, mass-produced INexpensive Conver repro. Nothing flash - yet I *love* it! 💖 It's my fave to use for spreads!! The colour palette is so appealing to me and it is different to the others that I own. I am only interested in having a few TdM decks. It is still not my preferred system, yet I really respect it and I now feel inspired to do some study. So who knows what the future holds. Your collection is beautiful and diverse. I can't say I am a fan of all TdM decks (I'm with you re some of the Italian decks) but I can understand how anyone could get hooked on TdM. The variety in colour blend alone, is delicious! That is what really captured my heart. For people like me who only want a few decks, videos like this are precious. Thank you darling, for a wonderful adventure into the world of TdM. xox

    My first ever tarot deck was a birthday gift given to me by sister in the 70s. It was the Spanish Tarot. I kept it but never learnt to read with it until recently. Your earlier walkthrough video has now inspired to use and appreciate it again. My sister passed away last year so the deck is even more special for sentimental reasons. Also, I am enjoying the Tarot de Maria Celia. Great travel deck and I recently purchased New Choice TdM but haven't opened it yet. Not sure if I like it...may trade it for something else. Love your videos. Love and Light Lucy from down under🇦🇺

    The Dodal would be too big for my hands, had no idea its that bigger than regular size. Noblet on the other hand looks perfect size but I do prefer the faces in the Dodal. The Tarot Classic looks for me as if it based on the Swiss tarot, than the Burdel (have a look at the Hanged man, Sun and Ace of Cups). Tarot de aux Arcs is amazing!! Such a lush pleasure watching this video xx

      @@tarotmap The Swiss deck is a funny mixture of several different styles it seems. It's an intermediate between Marseille and Besacon decks. It resembles most closely Burdel but there are enough differences to make it very difficult to say it's based on it.

    Hi Kasha - I have a question for you, if I may. When I read RWS I do read with reversals. Only some months ago have I started reading Tarot de Marseille as well. I have been reading with reversals in this system, but find it really challenging. Contemplating perhaps I should read Tarot de Marseille with all cards upright. Traditionally, is Marseille read with all cards upright...or is it, like RWS system, an even amount of people read reversals vs all upright? Thank you so much, Kasha. xx ~Amy

    • @tarotmap
      @tarotmap  Před 5 lety

      Happy Hermit hi Amy- I think most people read tarot de Marseille upright but there’s no hard rule. I remember reading with reversals in the beginning too. Even now when by chance a card falls reversed I pay attention. It matters less in the minors- I mean you see how the shapes fall etc but it did matter heaps in people and majors. Eg I always looked where the people were looking- so I didn’t change the meaning of the reversed card so much as the idea of what was of more importance to that card by the position of the gaze or body movement. Maybe I do a video on it :) Will be easier to explain! Thank you for the question! A good one!
