Thank you for this video. I'm a fan of your other ones and I used to read tarot a long time ago. I gave it up about 10 years ago, but you're a pretty smart guy and this has definitely inspired me to look into it again

How did I miss this video? I've wanted you to do one on the whole tarot thing for a while. Very useful introduction. Hope to see more.

Only 6 mins in but so far I COMPLETELY align with your thoughts on Tarot! I had the majors on my wall in the exact same layout during uni, and used to mediate on the images every day. I never thought of it as a mandala before, but that’s a great way of putting it.

My favourite deck. I recently had La Mort card tattooed on my inner forearm as I find it a very positive and bright card, very humbling. I realise that traditionally this card does not have words, but I just wanted that added to the tattoo because it’s my tattoo lol! It reminds me that while it can have some negative connotations, to me personally it’s very freeing and a good reminder that I can leave my old self behind artistically and emotionally, and not to be afraid of doors opening and closing throughout my life. Excellent video, thank you for posting.

The TdM's of Jodorowsky and others are really just modern variants rather than 'restorations' as claimed. The term 'Tarot de Marseilles' is no older than the 1930s-40s and the French deck pattern was in any case originally imported from Italy, having older Milanese antecedents. It's a timeless design but at the end of the day just a Tarot, among many traditional Tarots....the claim to primacy of TdM by Andre Breton and others originated in a kind of Francocentric parochialism, more often than not...

Truly enjoyed your presentation. I am expecting my deck to be delivered very soon and started to read the book you mentioned.
Full is like a soul incarnate - “I am in this world but I am not of this world”, maybe that’s why he hasn’t a number 😊 in this human experience. 😳
    Thank you.

Great video’ Tarot from what I have seen is based upon your background. I read more with a Carrie an or island background and we look to predict or solve an issue. We just allow our spirits to speak through the deck. Everyone has their own style.

Great video! I hope you'll do some more videos on Tarot de marseille. I've read Jodorovsky's book you mentdioned. Kinda nice, his Jungian interpretations are sometimes cheesy but overall this is really fun and helpful book. I've really enjoyed your reading. Thanks!

Great video. One of my professors used to talk about a deck created by members of the existentialist movement during WWII as they were fleeing Europe. Any idea what that particular deck was called?

For those looking for a good resource on the Marseille Tarots. The
Marseille Tarot by Paul Marteau is a good start. This book has just been
translated into English. You can find a copy on:
www.circleandtriangle.com. Another good resource is The
Marseille Tarot Revealed by Ben Dov, which you can find on Amazon.

before i looked this video i meditated and picked three cards... my question was “are we living in some type of simulation” my three cards were the magician, the empress and seven of wands... whats crazy is that you highlighted those two cards and basically explained my intuition and actions in those cards... anyways i guess i have my answer, we are in simulation and they’re no coincidences

The Fool is Diogenes practising Adiaphora!
The Visconti Sforza Popess shows that she's not Pope Joan, as she doesn't wear Papal vestments, but a simple habit, with an elaborate crown.
The Emperess holds the Emperor's shield, showing she is protected by him. What else does he protect?

I lost interest in the occult many years ago now but I'm always a little perplexed at how folk try to offer interpretations of image meanings without any reference to when and where the image came from. The reason The Fool was not numbered with the other trumps was because it was not part of the trump sequence - it was a wild card that lacked the power to win a trick. The figure of a female pope was a well established one in Catholic art of Renaissance Italy, being used to represent such things as the virtue of Faith or, more frequently, the body of the church itself. What I hear in this video is the same thing I hear elsewhere, the shoehorning of ideas into a pack of cards they don't quite fit.
I do think that rationality is opt in or opt out - in a conflict, where you try to draw the line at which rationality picks up, you must try to make make that a rational or irrational attempt. If rational, your opponent can declare that that is an instance of where rationality does not apply, a claim that cannot be challenged without the same problem. If irrational, then your opponent need only be as irrational as yourself. If I find that I cannot resolve a problem, I do not declare that the answer must be irrational and try to pull a rabbit from a hat, which invites error, but instead admit that I can't resolve it with the information or arguments I have at this time and keep looking for a solution. It's called humility, sometimes even wisdom.
I had subbed after some interesting videos but, for the little it is worth, I'll unsub with this one. Sorry, I'll stick to playing games with these things and keep my reflections focused on reason and facts.
