The "Formula 1" of Rolex divers, the Sea-Dweller Deepsea is a watch that could drop to the bottom of the ocean and live to tell the tale.
Welcome to my channel, my name is Anthony, and today I am unboxing my first ever Rolex watch. I purchased The Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea 116660.
I have wanted this watch for nearly 8 years and was finally able to purchase this incredible timepiece.

By the way, the watch is water-resistant to 3,900 meters.
Here is a little about the watch below and the specifications:
Introduced in 2008, the Deepsea ref. 116660 took the Sea-Dweller collection to another level, at the time representing Rolex's latest efforts in over-engineering their famed dive watch design and showcasing their continued and lasting chops in the underwater world.
In sum, the Deepsea was "the Formula 1 of Rolex divers," as one former HODINKEE writer described it, its large 44mm by 17.5mm case representing the forefront of dive watch capabilities. These credentials exemplified with the launch of the 2014 D-Blue edition alongside the standard black edition: a special edition which commemorated director and explorer James Cameron's 2012 dive into the deepest part of the ocean - the Mariana Trench.
At its core, the ref. 116660 gained instant recognition for more than tripling its water resistance from 1,220 meters to an astonishing 3,990 meters. The advancement came as a result of some serious engineering marvels, with the watch notably including the five millimeter-thick sapphire crystal to support the underwater pressure assisted by a visible Ringlock system on the dial that keeps the watch's thickness below 18mm. A unidirectional, Cerachrom bezel adds to the watch's professional grade credentials, as does a subtle helium escape valve opposite the screw-down crown.
On the dial, a highly-legible dial produced in Rolex's distinct diver configuration is showcased, complete with a three o'clock cyclops-magnified date window, hour markers and hands are filled with blue Chromalight lume material, and a dark dial contrasting to it all. Worth noting is the 116660, like most Sea-Dwellers, does not feature a Cyclops magnifier over the date.
Inside is Rolex caliber 3135, an automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve, an incredibly reliable, chronometer-grade movement used extensively by the brand. The caliber is protected via a solid titanium case back that helps manage weight and ensures a water resistance to 3,900 meters (12,800 feet), with the entire watch secured to the wrist via a 904L steel Oyster bracelet with a matching Oysterlock safety clasp to prevent accidental opening.

Awesome watch!!! It's a love or hate relationship with that model. I absolutely love mine!!! It's the only Rolex I've ever wanted since it came out. It doesn't get the love it deserves, but those of us that love it, really love it. The best part is it is such a unique Rolex and has features no others have. Obviously the depth rating, but having cool features like the ring lock, the 2 piece back with titanium, lettering on the case back (very few Rolex's have that), helium escape valve only on Sea Dwellers and the oyster bracelet with the pop-up Glidelock, which is only on the Deepsea. And the case size is fantastic. Yes it's big... and heavy. You'll never forget it's on your wrist. Gotta love it!!! And I personally prefer the black dial. Classic look. Not a fan of the Cameron... but to each their own. Best Rolex out there!!
Yea best Rolex I have a 2017 black dial Rolex Deepsea I love it so much I only wear it on good occasions
The black early model , I genuinely believe in the longer term will hold its price as its unique, strap & fewer numbers manufactured.

I got a few Rolex, Subs, GMT’s, a Daytona, Datejust etc, but the 116660 is “the boss” when it comes to wrist presence. I generally only wear it in the summer as the size makes it a but clumsy under shirt cuffs etc. But on a warm summer day with a t-shirt or similar it’s the dogs bollocks, unbeatable. I love mine and it will be one of the last Rolex I sell if I ever have to sell. And my wrist is not big, a flat 6 3/4, it’s on the limit in terms of size, I guess most people are too worried about this watch size, most guys can wear it, you just need to get a bit used to it. A good tip: remove the diving extension as that makes it MUCH more comfortable.
I own an Omega Planet Ocean XL 45MM and boy is it heavy. 126660 Deep Sea is lighter and a much more comfortable fit (I have a 8" wrist).. cheers
Glad to see your genuine enthusiasm in this unboxing 👍🏻I bought the same model in February, it’s uncomfortable, it’s big, I’m forever fiddling with the glide lock clasp, but it looks amazing and I absolutely love it, beautiful watch… Enjoy it

About five or six people have asked you what was the watch you were wearing during the unboxing. what is the Rolex copy you're wearing? all of my Sea Dwellers came I their box not in a cardboard box separate from the actual box it makes no sense to package an 18,000 dollar watch in a cardboard box when it comes with it's own protective box lol and mine don't have Chinese written on them lol I think you got a copy bud

Hate to know how scratched up it is by now. As soon as he got it he laid the clasp up against the case back. Scary. It looked pre-owned anyway.

Watch is meant to be worn and not preserved for sale. You have an almost 8" wrist and don't find it very wearable? I have7.25 and love its size. If he ordered from Japan, of course pre-owned.

Great watch, but not brand new and obviously worn. The box has scratches and the watch does not have the original protection stickers.
And this should ensure he will enjoy the watch and not be too worried about the knocks and bangs and everyday watch should have on it. I got my DEEPSEA almost 15 years ago and LOVE IT!! The watch has stood the test of time!!

I would check with an authorized dealer or a trusted grey market dealer to authenticate that watch. Everything about it screams that it is not authentic Rolex.

Can´t escape the impression...who buys Rolex over internet? You dress nice, take your wife and/or partner with, you go to official retailer, have a cup of champaigne there, chat a bit, pay it and with a smile take your partner to a dinner in a nice restaurant...that´s way it goes. Otherwise, this Rolex does not match...or am I outdated?
Well not everyone is lucky enough to buy a watch from the AD. These Deep Sea watches can be had from grey market dealers for about the same price as new from the AD’s so it’s the only alternative for 99% of people.
