  • We take a look at a 2018 Rolex 126660 - the Deepsea Sea-Dweller James Cameron, and decide if we're manly enough to pull it off. (Spoiler alert; we're not!)
    Massive thanks again to the infamous 'Mr.X' for trusting us with it. Amazing piece!

    I find it surprisingly more comfortable than a Sub or a GMT. The mark 2 bracelet simply makes it. I'd guess most who say it's too big haven't worn it.

      Hmm i have tried sd 43 and it felt way smaller than expected. Have a avenger seawolf and omega seamaster chrono ...
      How does the deepsea wear in comparison? The seawolf is bigger in all dimensions and the sm chrono is similar
      Anyone know how it wears in comparison or how it wears in tudor pelagos 42 which i have and feels somewhat smaller. Actually wear thicker than the omega chrono which is actually 3 mm thicker

    Great filming of this watch guys; this is the one watch in my collection that I think I couldnt live without, I love it & have both models. The size is big but suits my wrist size (7.5"+), not good for under the cuff obviously & I love the fact it doesnt have a cyclops. • @nib95
    @nib95 Před 4 lety +5

    Been wearing one of these for a few years. I actually don't think it's too big at all, and instead think it's just that most other Rolex's are simply too small. You see watches from RM, AP, Jacob & Co, Omega etc, and some are just as big if not bigger. Hell my AP Offshore Diver is actually bigger and heavier (on a bracelet) than my Deepsea (and it's far from the biggest AP) and to me that's a good thing for a sportier watch. It's a manly watch that draws the eye and doesn't look too dainty and feeble, instead it is substantial and feels like you get your moneys worth. It also stands out so much more than my other Rolex's, and I like that. Let's you admire the finishing, details, shapes and materials that much more.

    I have owned the Mk1 D-Blue since 2016. I like it and admire the engineering, but at times it does get heavy and cumbersome. I can’t wear it every day, but it’s part of my rotation and gets maybe 20% wrist time. I’m a largish man and as I lose weight and my wrists get thinner, it might become a bit awkward to wear. Another thing is that I can’t wear it when I travel, especially in Europe or the Americas, due to concerns about watch thefts and muggings. Overall, it’s a great representative of the dive watch phenomenon in my collection, but not a daily wear timepiece.

    When I got my Submariner it was considered a big watch. Watch sizes grew and now it's considered moderate. But this just a bridge too far. Depends on your wrist tbh. I’ve seen arnie and Stallone wearing 55mm Uboats. This is small next to them. I think the problem for most people is the thickness as for the insane water resistance it has to be thicker to withstand the pressure. After all it’s only 1mm wider than the latest red letter sea dweller.

      (Luke) I didn’t even pick it up after editing 😂 - just realised we said that they strapped this one to the outside and Cameron wore the Challenger, lol! It wouldn’t be one of our videos without horrendous misinformation 🤣🤣

    Small observation if you will allow me. Choice of sound effects are bit over the top. Don't ruin great content and nice production with such annoying detail.

    Yep I watched Jodys review too and aside from the dial it’s not really my barra. Way too thick and heavy so just something I would not enjoy wearing. Should I ever meet Mr. Brick Shithouse I will check out what he has on his wrist. 😆

    Horrid beast, too thick, heavy and cumbersome, the Breitling Avenger 2 Seawolf has the same dimensions and has 3000m water resistance but doesn’t say Rolex on the dial so it’s forgotten and crappy, this is why I left the watch game, people are sheep 🐑

    • @clockbait
      @clockbait  Před 4 lety +1

      You’re right about it being too thick and cumbersome but I’ve got to say it’s a damn site better looking than the Breitling (obviously this is a taste thing) I like breiltings, though their vintage stuff is more to my taste but I think there’s a lot to be said about how a Rolex feels when you’ve got it, it just feels special. They’re bigger than the sum their parts imo. Something breitling is very hit and miss with however their new 806 1959 makes my willy tingle!
