- Youngest daughter has been begging for her first dog for several years. Oldest daughter doesn’t care for dogs much. We thought Christmas would be the perfect time to add to our family. We never expected such an emotional reaction!
This video captures the beginning of a lifelong bond between a girl and her new puppy.
The puppy is a Shichon (also called a teddy bear - mix between a Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu).

Getting a dog really IS the best day of one's life.

Folks...it is explained in the video description that the older daughter is not much of a dog person. She was VERY HAPPY for herself and her little sister. They BOTH got what they really wanted...the parents really did a Good job AND made it clear that they were adding to the FAMILY

The older sister.. Did you see her face. She was super excited. The parents didn't notice her excitement... Regardless if she is or isn't a dog person. I think the big sister was awesome by letting her younger sister have her moment.

Exactly. Plus, she was so happy with her stickers. They seem like really good kids who know the importance of appreciation.

This reminds me of Christmas 1969 when my grandparents gave me a little ball of fur named Mitzi. Thanks for bringing back that memory.
My husband and I only have cats, but who doesn't love a puppy surprise? I love this, and hope this girl and her dog are enjoying what will be a long and very happy life together.
I thought I was a tough guy, but when I watched this, I cried right along with that little girl; but with a big grin all over my face! I hope they share a wonderful life together.

Ive seen knuckle dragging gorillas shed tears holding their first newborn babies,or hugging their babies when they come home from service and or war. I've had dogs since 1959 with short breaks between. A new dog is such a joy but the end of their life is equal sorrow. Enjoy your time with them. The bond is unbreakable and an experience people should share. You never forget getting one or losing one.

The parents were very smart to gift wrap doggy accessories, rather than traumatizing the dog by putting her into a dark box. I hope the girl takes good care of her precious gift.

Grew up with dogs.Every dog was so special.Each dog had the most amazing personality.They are truly the most loyal.If one doesn’t mind poop and smell of pee on your rug,along with torn belongings for a few months they are a true gem ft.

While I understand your comment is coming from a good place.....it’s also a little strange. What’s with our society assuming everyone is going to have a child? Who knows where she’ll be in life. Perhaps she won’t want kids, and the love from a man’s best friend will be enough.
Agree kara. I was never able to have children so i did pour my love into a animal business. Perhaps a different love but love all the same. This is a precious pup who will be loved immensely by that little girl .

@@kp4949 - Thanks for your response. I’m sorry you weren’t able to have kids. I’ve actually just started on my own journey....a recent decision to not have kids for various reasons. The most difficult decision I’ve had to make, but one that I know in my heart is right for me. My husband and I can’t wait to adopt a dog. The love and bond of an animal, I believe, can be just as strong and meaningful. I’m glad the four-legged creatures have brought you joy. I know it would for me! ❤️

Beautiful, I loved it. So happy for you all. Hug your puppy as much as possible each day. To your left is Roxie, she passed away on Valentine's Day 2021. I was able to hold her and look into her eyes as she took her last breath. I cried like a baby and Im a Marine Corps veteran. As I watched this I too cried.
