- So we finally surprised my daughter with a puppy. Brought a tear to my eye. She kept asking if this was a dream.

That puppy was hesitant for about 2 seconds. Great personality & temperament. Both are beyond cute!
I think it's just because the children are always so excited with joy they cry and scream and it scares them for a minute until they figure out it's ok.
@@holylandfan3275 yea puppy started walk over to her when she sat down and said here puppy what cute start to a beautiful friendship/fur fam(well hair as the breed doesn't have fur)
I've had two shih tzus. They were my baby nieces. Love that breed!!!

She's so happy. You know how much their little hearts yearn for a puppy when they're so happy they cry. Sweet.
What a gentle little girl you have-she didn’t treat Luna as a toy but instead instantly treated her like another living being in need of careful and loving handling. In a child your daughter’s age that’s very, very special and Luna immediately responded to her because of it.
Ya both done real good, Mom and Dad, in teaching your daughter, probably as much or more by example than words, respect for others.
And Luna IS about 10 weeks old in this video.

A happy memory. I remember my first dog over 70 years ago. He was two weeks older than I was and we had his mother. Best dog in the world. Every dog I ever had was also the best dog in the world.
wowwwww... I love how she sat and waited for the puppy to approach her...and did not pick up the pup right away...great parenting ...great kid...everyone must learn this...to understand that ,along with fulfilling our desires, we must also respect others' feelings :) excellent! :)

I got a golden retriever puppy when I was her age. We grew up with eachother, with him sleeping every night on the foot of my bed(once he got older, the "foot" turned into the entire bed). I had to put him to sleep three days ago... I am about to turn 18 years old. My entire childhood was spent with him, and now that he is dead, it has really marked the end of my childhood. Bless her, she has no idea how much that dog is gonna help her through her teenage years. Dogs really are man's best friend.

I had a female Shih Tzu rescue for about 11 years. They are a wonderful breed of dog for a pet.

As an owner of a healthy 14 year old male Shih Tzu I have one advise:
Take very good care of their eyes and always make sure the hair around the eyes is groomed. Also a tip is to to let them grow their eye browses. It gives the extraordinary looks when they become 7-10cm long.

love puppy videos and esp shih tzu's. i would as 38 year old woman came home to a puppy i would react the same as your daughter with tears cute lil fluff balls. heck i cried when i was 15 and met my lhasa apso puppy similar to shih tzu
They are the best breed of dogs 🐶. Mine was named Timmy and he lived to age 18. I wish you many happy and healthy years together. I’m trying to convince my parents to adopt a dog but they are still not ready.

You see so many videos where parents surprise the kids and they FREAK the hell out and start SCREECHING. That can't be a good first interaction with a young pet.
I'd love to surprise a kid like this but i think realistically I'd prepare them ahead of time. I know! Party pooper!! 😅
Awwwe I remember when I first got my little bichon/shih tzu puppy when she was 7 weeks she was small just like that she’s still small but I miss when she was that size :( but she will forever Bc my fur baby

We have a malshi (Maltese shihtzu mix) and they have the most lovely temperaments!! Great dogs!!!
i had well still have the friend but when we were kids she had an all black shih tzu named Bandit and if not playing with him at her place she would bring him to mine we play outside 3 of us he was such a sweetie. her mom has since had several other shih tzus all very friendly love to cuddle.
