    Welding looks much nicer than previous years. Great bike.

    Your review on Canyon's website brought me here. I got the same 2023 Stoic 4 but in the MEDIUM size. For the record, I'm 175cm with an 80cm inner leg length and the reach of the medium size is perfect for me.
    The Shimano Deore 4-Pot brakes with 203mm front rotor and the 170mm dropper post that come standard with the medium size are great. The problem is that you've picked the SMALL size because you wanted a "playful bike". You should have gotten the same Medium size as your Torque. The difference in riding between the small and medium Stoic is negligible (I rode BOTH sizes before buying) but the small size Stoic 4 only gets you a 180mm front rotor and 150mm dropper post. Additionally, it's not a 29" as the medium size is, but a 27.5" bike.
    If you still can, exchange the bike for the size Medium one. If that ship has sailed, no need to replace the excellent Deore 4-pot brakes for SRAM Code. Replace the front rotor for a RT-66 203mm and change the resin brake pads the bike comes standard with to the Shimano sintered option (D02S). That's what I did and trust me: you can race the Megavalanche in these Shimano brakes and metal pads.
    All in all, this is one of the best value hardtails you can currently buy. I've waited two years to get it, as I'm a Shimano guy and didn't want the previous models with SRAM components (those brakes REALLY sucked!!!). I agree with you that the bike has only three minor flaws: saddle, grips and lack of any chainstay protection. But in the end, contact points are very personal and easily replaceable.

      great! no im super happy with the sizing of the bike.I didn't want to get the 29" wheels. I did got what i waned - a playful 27.5" bike that i can go to the jumps or the pumptrack and i can use it to pull my child's stroller on the weekends when we do tours the whole family. i did change the breaks just because i wanted the same feel that i have on my torque. Love the SRAM CODEs. And thats basically it. Its an amazing value for the money. I must say that i preferred the last year configuration with the SRAM equipment.

      Hi! , I am 170cm. Not sure about my inner leg length but I was recommended an S. Do you think I should go for the M as I want the 29" instead of the 27.5" wheels.

    • @The_One-Eyed_Undertaker
      @The_One-Eyed_Undertaker Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@eatyourlatte If you want the 29", you need to go M. There's no way around it. If your inner leg is at least 80cm, you should be fine. Additionally, you can always get a shorter stem.

    Според мен сложи метални/синтеровани накладки и сложи 200мм диск отпред, карам със срам спирачки и когато съм пробвал шиманските ми е правило впечатление, че шиманските се усещат по-силни.

    People are too picky about parts I’m only a second or two slower on my mid tier diamond back hard tail (Line) with a coil Xcr sun tour fork and tektro single pot brakes, and the bike park I work at uses giant glory’s. 180mm rotors and 4 pot brakes are definitely enough to stop anyone

      Because canyon's kinda dumb with their part selection. Altough i doubt it's really that much trouble to stop with those,mine(first"gen" stoic) came with 2 piston srams and it wasn't even that terrible honestly. Deore is definitely a nice brake he just likes to complain i guess
