What to change about yourself: get taller
Hahaha. Thanks I’ll do that 🫡
This seat is fucking horrible...
Junk bike heavy like full enduro
It’s not that heavy actually. The numbers on their website are not accurate.

Just throw it away
If you're changing the brakes from the start, just spend more from the beginning and buy a higher spec bike or build up a frame.
That’s the most expensive speck
Bruh that’s the highest end stoic at almost $2,000 💀
The frame. The silver is paint or is it raw aluminium with no paint?
Looks painted in his other video
And that’s why I Build up my Hardtail
The brakes part reminded me of the times when i had my shit low end shimano rear brake blown so i basically had to rely only on my front brake bcs i was broke lol That was, though, the best lesson i ve ever learnt bike-wise: knowing when and how to use the front brakes *also nothing can stop you if your brake cant either* 🤡
You have a wrong bike throw it away and get polygon for the same money
I’m very happy with it. I buy canyon mostly because of the customer support and the lack of dealer
You can tell by your rotors that you didn’t bed the brakes in. That’s your problem. The rest of the video is completely subjective.
Spacers way too high is just an opinion. Saddle and grips are uncomfortable is also an opinion. Dropper too short, again just an opinion. Throw the brakes away? Shimano makes decent brakes. That's just a ridiculous statement.
Exactly
Hey man How wide is the inner rim ? Cant find the right info And wanna get the tape before the bike comes .
ooh I say that in the beginning of the video. around 0:50. they are 30mm,
yeah canyon have this proprietary deal with DT-Swiss and they make a cheap wheel set for them. Not the best option but the wheels are strong non of the less
@@nedyalkopetkov thanks man Well at the end no tape needed cos the wheels have already been taped with DT tubless tape 👌
@@nedyalkopetkov I'll be putting them under the test. I have duroc wheels on my radon enduro bike and so far they been holding my 95 kg weight. I hope for these to do the same! BTW was the cassette not locked when bike came ? The bike has just arrived and the cassette was only mounted on the rear wheel but not locked.
150mm drop is not too short for the vast majority of people
thats great
The whole idea with that low frame is that you can drop the seat as low as possible on the descends and technical sections and the have it high enough for the climbs.
@@nedyalkopetkovI'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam, which is short for my height. A 150mm dripper qould be perfect for me. You can't tell someone to change something based on fit because it's short for you.
1. You can raise the dropper up to minimum insertion. 2. Deore 4 pot do just fine when properly bedded. Clean your rotors and pads.
Welding looks much nicer than previous years. Great bike.
Wonders how I survived whit mt200 😮😮😮
Според мен сложи метални/синтеровани накладки и сложи 200мм диск отпред, карам със срам спирачки и когато съм пробвал шиманските ми е правило впечатление, че шиманските се усещат по-силни.
Buddy I have the Stoic and while you are right on the grips and saddle I really disagree on the brakes. I rode down a double black diamond with the shimano m2000 without any problem and they are a lower end version of the deore. Maybe there was air in your brakes or you haven't completely broke them in. I doubt that any pair of properly working deore brakes can't get you to a hold very quick. Throwing a couple hundred bucks at the problem ain't it chief.
thats only my opinion. For me they are very weak. but im happy that yours work as you need them to be.
Number one frame swap to steel frame.
Just get a spectral
Nope, spectral is more expensive. And stoic 4 is discounting right NOW 🎉
whats that little black device installed on the left sore of extended rear axle nut?
that's where I can attach my child's stroller when I ride with him.
4 piston deores are high end brakes. You probably dont know how to set them up properly.
If you say so… I couldn’t stop with them.
Deores are entry level hydraulics
@@luca.phan.mtb08 Definitely not. Same brakes as the more expensive xt and slx but without the reach adjust. Entry level brakes from shimano would be the mt420s, the deores are way higher end.
Deore brakes being four pistons are quite confusing to set up and also if you had the bike shipped then more than likely they didn't come with oil...or maybe they needed a bleed...
True. Standard is mt200
170cm / 72. I'm trying to decide between XS vs. S. Any advice? I'm new to this sport but not new to riding bikes like a hooligan back in my childhood days
You should go with S, not xs unless you really want a dirt bike instead of a trail bike.
@DullZeroCool hey thanks for getting back to me. I spoke with Canyon and the rep said XS could work since it's closer to my reach. I'm about 410 reach and the XS is 405, I can increase the reach with another stem. The S has a reach of 430
@@mtyota good to know, thanks for the feedback
Btw did you check what the difference is in the wheelbase?
go with S
Can you buy this bike, and send to me, to my country. Payment from me, of course
Sure
The 4 pot deore is meant to be the same as the slx and XT. Are you sure theyre shit or you just like SRAM brakes? Change the rotor to a 203mm in front.
I sold them and got the CODEs. Now it stops. It could be as you’d sed as well
I'd love to see a video comparing the breaking power of the deore brakes vs the CODEs
People are too picky about parts I’m only a second or two slower on my mid tier diamond back hard tail (Line) with a coil Xcr sun tour fork and tektro single pot brakes, and the bike park I work at uses giant glory’s. 180mm rotors and 4 pot brakes are definitely enough to stop anyone
Is it possible that the original pads were bad or the rotor was contaminated?
I just prefer the SRAM CODE feel.
How do they put brakes on the bike that are not sufficient to stop it? 😮
Because canyon's kinda dumb with their part selection. Altough i doubt it's really that much trouble to stop with those, mine(first"gen" stoic) came with 2 piston srams and it wasn't even that terrible honestly. Deore is definitely a nice brake he just likes to complain i guess
@@almabatekert_villanykorte3387Sounds like this guy is spoiled by high end stuff with how he talks. Anything else is just trash. They come with resin pads and I bet a quick switch to metal would make them usable.
im exaggerating a bit
Just buy the Lux with better components.
Hi! I just Recieved my Stoic 4, but i noticed the rear hub sounds terrible. How is yours?
Can you use 29" wheels on the small and x small size bikes?
That would be impossible due to the geometry of the bike, it has a very short chainstay
No
How did you solve the head tube bearings problem with the gap? I just ordered my Stoic 4 size M ,im 178/82 btw
I didn’t. I ride it on the DH tracks here around and till now I’ve zero play in the head tube. For some reason no dirt comes inside so I just left it like that.
It is the common feature for this generation 😂. Seems hard to improve that
Is it bare alloy ? Or is it silver paint
Every raw alloy colored frame is painted..it would be pretty dumb to leave it bare
@@almabatekert_villanykorte3387 bare alloy gets clear coated not painted silver Canyon aren’t good enough finish anymore just to clear coat
@@mickmexi Hm okey Mine is the older grey one and it chips pretty easily,so i hope this one has a somewhat better finish
It's a metallic base coat and a clear coat. You can see flakes in 3:10 Aluminum surface doesn't look like that
Silver metalic paint
Complains about everything but the shitty wheels...
Your review on Canyon's website brought me here. I got the same 2023 Stoic 4 but in the MEDIUM size. For the record, I'm 175cm with an 80cm inner leg length and the reach of the medium size is perfect for me. The Shimano Deore 4-Pot brakes with 203mm front rotor and the 170mm dropper post that come standard with the medium size are great. The problem is that you've picked the SMALL size because you wanted a "playful bike". You should have gotten the same Medium size as your Torque. The difference in riding between the small and medium Stoic is negligible (I rode BOTH sizes before buying) but the small size Stoic 4 only gets you a 180mm front rotor and 150mm dropper post. Additionally, it's not a 29" as the medium size is, but a 27.5" bike. If you still can, exchange the bike for the size Medium one. If that ship has sailed, no need to replace the excellent Deore 4-pot brakes for SRAM Code. Replace the front rotor for a RT-66 203mm and change the resin brake pads the bike comes standard with to the Shimano sintered option (D02S). That's what I did and trust me: you can race the Megavalanche in these Shimano brakes and metal pads. All in all, this is one of the best value hardtails you can currently buy. I've waited two years to get it, as I'm a Shimano guy and didn't want the previous models with SRAM components (those brakes REALLY sucked!!!). I agree with you that the bike has only three minor flaws: saddle, grips and lack of any chainstay protection. But in the end, contact points are very personal and easily replaceable.
great! no im super happy with the sizing of the bike.I didn't want to get the 29" wheels. I did got what i waned - a playful 27.5" bike that i can go to the jumps or the pumptrack and i can use it to pull my child's stroller on the weekends when we do tours the whole family. i did change the breaks just because i wanted the same feel that i have on my torque. Love the SRAM CODEs. And thats basically it. Its an amazing value for the money. I must say that i preferred the last year configuration with the SRAM equipment.
Hi! , I am 170cm. Not sure about my inner leg length but I was recommended an S. Do you think I should go for the M as I want the 29" instead of the 27.5" wheels.
@@eatyourlatte If you want the 29", you need to go M. There's no way around it. If your inner leg is at least 80cm, you should be fine. Additionally, you can always get a shorter stem.
@@The_One-Eyed_Undertaker got it, thanks for the fast response!
Was there anything else you needed to change to use a 203mm rotor? Or the pads for that matter? Thank you!
Try it with sintered pads. It should be a decent brake.
i put the CODE RSC on it and its amazing
Agreed, metallic pads and bigger rotors should do the trick
thanks a lot man.....great video
Your'e Welcome!
Yo! How much does it weigh? And ehat frame size?
@@dragoschisavucanyon site says 15kg
Are you gonna make test ride video.. i'm interested in the same bike- probably size S - 172cm tall 80 inner leg
Ist the perfect size for you.
Have you bought the bike, guys? It’s under discounting NOW. I just couldn’t resist and give my wallet 😂
nice bike man , iam 183 cm and caynon calculator say M size, inner side leg 82 or 83 , how tall are you and is that M size or ? I dont know to order m or l size
Hi it’s a more playful bike than trail bike. The reach is more than sufficient. I’m 173 with inner leg 84. But it feels great for me. Jet again for the torque it recommended for my size between S and M and there I got M. I would trust them with the sizing.
l size,i got a friend,he already have a stoic 4 size L,when i first tried the bike(1y ago) i was 1.85 and size L was perfect,now i'm 1.90 and size L its still good,but anyway,for 1.83 size L,its gonna be a lot easyer to ride and more comfortable
Love it! Nice riding 🎉
Why don't you tell us about the quad?
just a regular 7" analoq quad with the hero 9 on top and lion 400mAh pack underneath. Nothing unusual. I fly the same setup for many years now
@@nedyalkopetkov 400mah pack on bottom? That's it for a battery? That doesn't seem like much. Do you mean 4000mah? 🤔

I remember playing this exact version out of my music book that I purchased 20 years ago. I believe the store was called Weirleins.
Molicel batteries are awesome, but it's definitely not recommended to solder the cells. The problem is that different solders have different heat properties, and different soldering irons also have varying watts, so it's almost impossible to control the amount of heat you're putting on the battery. It's more about protecting the batteries as the damage caused is mostly in the long run. Also, right next to the positive pole is negative, so if the solder runs and touches this, you short out the battery. Spot welding is the way to go...
thanks for the input. Have you seen what I do with those batteries ?
Great job what heat shrink will you be using and where to get it thanks in advance
I got it from BG there are plenty of PVC heat shrink stuff there
@@nedyalkopetkov thanks mate I’ll have a look
How much current we can draw? How much time it takes to recharge?
45A continuous and 55A burst. Charge: it depends on how you setup your charger. You can charge with 4.2V at 4A
@@nedyalkopetkov Thats great, if we get 45A continuous, hope they wont become hot for 45A draw.
