It's my Dynamite Passport GPS Speed Meter Review
"How fast is?" is a question I get asked a lot on my car videos so I bought this Dynamite RC GPS Speed Meter so I could do realtime speed tests. This RC GPS is tiny, about the size of a matchbox.
It's waterproof and can be used in RC cars, boats and helicopters. It even has an altimeter built in. Stay tuned for lots of speed tests coming up this summer. NOTE! This unit comes set in km not mph in the USA. To change it to MPH you need to use the software from dynamite that can be downloaded at the bottom of the web page on this link www.dynamiterc.com/Products/De...
This is the ONLY way to change the km setting to mph. Only minor downside to the unit!

so when your testing the tracker in your rooster I noticed a white tag hanging off the side of the unit? was that an accessory? what is it? thanks.

ayes it tracks max speed, easy to zero and record a wide variety of stats
is there any way to use more than 150min. battery span...? Maybe external lipo?

Have you considered looking at devices for hiking or marathon-related stuff? May be a better investment depending on the features and however much they cost, though I don't know their pricings.

Okay 3 things! 1st most annoying thing - it's sold in the US with the speed pre-set in km not mph as you like me discovered, 2nd most annoying thing you can't change it from km to mph using the buttons on the GPS alone, you need to get the USB lead connect it to your computer and download the Dynamite GPS Software at the very bottom of this page www.dynamiterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN4401 - 3rd most annoying thing? It's PC only software, so if you've a mac like me you also need to download a PC emulator. However once you've done all the above it's easy to change. Hope that helps. Do let me know how you get on. Yes Dynamite is a US brand...with the speed preset in km?AHHaHahAH ....I'm writing from Rome, for me it's perfect that the speed is expressed in Km/h. :-) ;-) :-)

Now I know it can be done as to start with it was in Kph which is odd as it's sold in America, I now remember it's done using the software you can download and not from the device itself which I still find very odd. It drove me crazy to start with as I have a mac and I think it was PC only. Definitely through the software if my memory is correct. Hope that helps a bit at least
Best thing this GPS has compared to the SKYRC is that is a 10hz gps meter. SKYRC is a 1hz gps meter. That means this one measures in one second 10times the speed. That is awesome for speed runs.

Yep, for RC speed runs 10 times measurements of speed in one second is better then 1 time measure in 1 second... a lot happen in 1 second of RC speed...any car,heli or boat, or plane! :). I have the SKYRC one and am saving for a 10hz that will be that one. Cause it's small compared to non RC GPS.

yes or thereabouts, it refreshes 10x faster than most GPS's (like garmin - designed for walking, running, cycling but not 90mph RC cars...
