- In this video, we show and talk about the new iKamper X-Cover 2.0. This tent won so many awards when it was released in 2019 and now with all the upgrades it is even better. This tent has been one of my favorite tents for a long time because it is a hybrid design with a hard top. This is a patented design that no one else has or will have in the future.

That’s a dream tent I like the hybrid idea behind it 🔥
One day I’ll buy this dream tent. Been following iKamper since it launched its prototype xcover and have been a fan since. Glad their stuff keeps getting better, and glad you guys are partnered with them and can show this awesome in depth review and content!
I'm the same way I want one so bad! Been saving almost to the point where I can get one
Me too! It's not as easy to setup as the Skycamp but the the size, windows, and load bars make up for it.
magnificent insider's view. Thanks!
Thanks for giving a great description of how many people can really fit
I just got mine today....thanks for the overview on this! Cant wait to get mine mounted and opened up!!! Nice Taco by the way!
Is there a removable plug for wire passthrough at the bottom of the interior?
Just camped for the first time in my xcover 2 and the new mattress and overall fit and finish are exceptional and well worth the premium price.
You convinced me to go with a x-cover for our needs. Question though, will leaving sleeping bags and pillows inside increase the collapsible height?
Great Review! Do you think bugs can get in through the hinge areas when the tent is open? If so, do you think there is a way to seal it? Thanks!
Great vid! What are your thoughts about the gaps where the hinges are? I saw a video that said that he was getting some sand flying in there (although he had the old X-cover). I can't tell if it's sealed with velcro or if it's just kind of hanging there allowing bugs and debris in on strong windy nights. Thanks!
Great vid! Waiting on delivery for my x-cover 2.0. Do you have the long or short bed taco?
Hey! Same setup here. I have that tent riser as well. I’m trying to figure it out what mounting bracket/plate u using for the railings?
I've never used a RTT before. I'm planning on getting one for my 2011 double cab short bed. Will be camping with 2 adults and 2 small kiddos...can't decide on this one or the new skycamp 3.0. Do you feel like this one will hold up well in a windy area? And is the mattress the same size as the 3.0?
Great review as I am looking a this or the mini version. Question - what type/style/size is the Pelican cargo box on the rack over your cab?
At 23:12 it's a BX90R, correct?
I have the older (pre-2019) X-Cover and am quite happy with it. So what EXACTLY has been improved/upgraded in the new one to justify the increased cost?
Have you tried attaching solar to the bars on top?
Do you have the link to your tent risers that works with the iKamper X-Cover?
Can you lock the tent like the skycamp?
Hoe much room is inside once it's folded. Could you leave sleeping bag and pillows inside? Could you add a matress topper and still gold it up? How thick and comfortable is the pad that's already in it?
You can have two sleeping bags and two pillows in there
Do you happen to know if ikamper will be coming out with an annex for this x-cover 2.0? And do you happen to know how much this weighs?
150lbs
On their website, under the X-Cover tent section, it says X-Cover 2.0 is compatible with the "annex plus", but then if you go to the shop all section and click on the annex plus, there is no option for the annex for this tent. Do you know anything about that?
Do you have a video that covers how you installed your lights on your bed rack and ran the lights to your engine bay? This is something that I’m really curious how you did this
We do not. It runs down the bed rack and under the truck along the frame
Starting to build my 4 runner. Should I wrap my 4Runner before doing any modifications?
Yes, It'll save you money on labor. If they have to remove roof racks, sliders, bumpers, etc... that's all billable hrs.
@@gzone11ify Thank you. That makes total sense. What was I even thinking!
@@Kimberly-do1ub 👍👍
How difficult is it to feed the tent poles for side windows on the lifted truck or SUV? I think I prefer the traditional pole setup.
It's not bad at all. I can have it set up under 5 minutes
Are you going to put your old ikamper on the second gen? Or the new tundra?
We'll put it one of the trucks, not sure which yet
What brand are the tent riser brackets that you used?

Here you go.
CZcams is odd. I search iKamper and sort by upload date and this video doesn’t show up.
How did u like so far?
This does not look simple. I went from 23zero to Roofnest. I pull up and am setup in under minute. This looks much harder, and not as simple setup or take down. I get people walking over to me, saying I saw you pull up and set up so fast. I believe IKamper has newer Hardtop tent coming out. Thanks for review, love your channel.
It's not as easy for sure. The Skycamp is the easy one, that pops up in a minute. Thanks for the feedback though!
Why not put an eyelet on the corners of the cover and hook with bungee cord and just pull them?
For the price tag I'd rock it too if it was given to me for review. Otherwise I'm going with a small trailer.
Sounds good!
Good grief. Take my money.
what are you doing with the old tent? you want to sell it?
We are using it on the other truck
This tent doesn’t come with the world map?
Lol cmon man did ikamper tell you you had to say that so you could get it free? Keep it real.
Lol I wanted to talk about the highlights. Not sure what part was not real lol
Play at 1.5x speed...🍻
The truck is too clean, like this truck is just for show only…. Not much off road use… sad for the car.
Cool tent......way overpriced but forgive me I did fall asleep couple times due to the monotone........ as soon as I want to spend 4 or$5,000 on a tent I'll let ikamper know
Lol sorry about my monotone
@@Runnin4Tacos, I agree, the video was a bit monotone and slow for me. BUT very good and detailed review. iKamper is expensive but like most things, you get what you pay for. Their quality and design is at the top of the game. That’s why other manufacturers copy their designs.
