Though having a sense of adventure and simply exploring a lot of random forest roads will also be part of the process... haha. Also check out TrailsOffroad.com for general sense of where established trails of all levels can be found.

    That latch redesign is a lifesaver. I have a 2.0 that’s got about an inch at most of clearance between a Pioneer Rack and it’s a hassle getting it down, especially when it’s cold! 🥶

    Love all of your videos, it feels a bit short most of the time. Perhaps it's just me so tune in to the adventure and I can't seem to get enough of it. I see that people complain in the comments area about you switching to iKamper from "Go fast Camper" and too much ad for iKamper. I get it, and I love your positive responses to those comments. I just want to take a moment to appreciate what you do and keep up that positive attitude (it's a lot of work to do the filming, and it is not sustainable if you don't love what you do.)

    I wish they allowed the sky window to fully open and they should’ve kept the plastic mesh for the windows so we can see when it rains, but overall a really big upgrade with the mattress and allowing to store bedding in the ikamper easier as well as a hole to feed electronics through the inside of the ikamper. Good job

      The tent certainly has come a long way in terms of multiple functionally improvements. I will say that even with the window canopies deployed you can still enjoy the views during a rain storm while still having a privacy layer as opposed to before, though I completely understand your feedback when/if rain is coming down sideways... 😉

If I mount the entrance in the rear kind of like the epic family road trip style would that over extreme the sides of the jeep or hug perfectly? I have not really looked at the dimensions of my jeep or the tent yet. Still in the dream process. One more question. could that also to Thule rails?

    Recently found this channel and this was the video I was looking for, keep making great content. It looks like there is a 1" bar under the tent that rests on the crossbars. Is the 13" the height of the tent when closed from the bottom of this bar to the top of the closed tent? Or is that bar not included in the 13"?

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Před 2 lety +2

    This is the best summary of the Mini 3.0 yet. Thank you.
    Can you store it on it's side (with care)?
    Will the small annex be coming soon as well - with the matching colour scheme?
    I think I saw that there might be an upgrade air bed available? Or is it simply one that is available for the 2.0?
    Thanks!

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Před 2 lety +1

      Appreciate the support, thank you!
      - I would be hesitant to store on it's side unless you have some kind of foam mattress or blankets to protect the shell. The goal would be not to stress the vulnerable side from the weight of the tent. Ideally you would want to store flat if at all possible.
      - There are plans of an annex in matching colors, however it will be a new annex (other than what's currently offered) that is slightly larger and with new feature including a floor and dividing wall. Stay tuned for details on that and release dates.
      - Our Sleeping Systems are live now actually! This includes blankets, sleeping bags, and air mattresses than can be used not only for our current line of tents but the soon to be released models as well! Check it out here: ikamper.com/products/sleep-systems/

  • @masonstruckadventure9368

    This is a really cool tent. The zipper upgrades are paramount, those windows are sick. I've never camped in any rooftop tent. Do they keep heat In? What about noise?

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Před 2 lety

      Thank you for watching and great questions! The tents can relatively lock in heat well while also providing enough ventilation and air flow. However I use the inner insulation tent (a lining for the inside of the actual tent) which offers great warmth retention, helps lower exterior noise in windy conditions, and is fairly easy to setup.
      All personal preference but I've found that item to help quite a bit!

    How much more would the skycamp 3.0 hang over the edge of the truck bed? I always thought the length was when you open the rtt, not the length from “tailgate to back of cab”, learn something new everyday. I have a Raptor but with the short bed, the skycamp mini makes sense, however, I like the size of the regular skycamp 3.0

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Před 2 lety

      The 3.0 Mini has a length of about 4'8" and the larger Skycamp 3.0 has a length of about 7'2". Unless you plan to run the larger tent on a full height bed rack or canopy to overhang above the cab, you'll certainly have additional tent overhang past the tailgate of the truck (something I would not advise).

    • @ConquestOverland

      For a Mini Cooper, I'd recommend only going with the Skycamp 3.0 Mini size and ensuring the cross bars are able to supper the weight of the tent. The full size Skycamp 3.0 (4 person) would be way too big on the roof and dramatically overhang resulting in a poor driving experience.

    I have to ask, why not run the thick end to the front? If you look at the cross section of any aerodynamically optimized shape, the leading edge is thick, with thickness trailing away towards the rear, i.e. aircraft wing cross section.
    Every time I see one of these mounted the way this one is, which is every single one I've seen, it strikes me as the least aerodynamically efficient profile. Seems to be an oversight.

      Great questions! The 3.0 Mini will easily fit 2 adults and a toddler, though as the little one begins to grow it may become a more snug fit for everyone. If you want to plan long term perhaps the Skycamp 3.0 (czcams.com/video/mnwaewKql64/video.html) may be a better option depending on your vehicle and mounting. As for the weight limit our platform on the tent can hold up to 1.8 tons and the ladder steps themselves over 300lbs. We found that over the years they would discolor. Even when using the best vinyl available, it wouldn't prevent this so our R/D team decided to opt out of using them for this generation. However, the functionality of the new window design is vastly improved in my opinion.

      @@ConquestOverland That makes sense, you know it wouldn’t be too hard to make an accessory with a piece of vinyl that simply Velcro’s onto the side so it’s removable and replaceable. Just an idea.

    Going to reply before i even watch. I think the Go Fast Camper is far superior to this tent. The ability to stand inside and enter your tent from the back of the truck is soooo much better. Also all you gear in the bed stays dry and clean.

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Před 2 lety +5

      Well... it's a completely different setup being a camper vs. a tent. However, I've mentioned in several videos in the past how I've kept my gear exposed using the bed rack and have had zero issues in all weather elements. Not to mention the significant MPG gained by having an RTT lower in the bed of the truck. Though for more info on GFC you can head directly to their website: gofastcampers.com 😉 👍

    is two adults plus a small kid out of the question? they really need a mini+. the regular is way too big and this seems like its basically two humans max.

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Před 2 lety +1

      Depending on what's comfortable for you, two adults and a small kid could be doable. Though as the little one grows up it will get a bit more cramped. Maybe for long term use the larger size model would be best?

    I appreciate your contents and all the work you put into your videos, I really do.
    but since you started doing ikamper promotion videos, I stopped watching.
    everybody have bills to pay and I get that. but shoving a 17 minutes ad to viewers face is not the way to go.
    English isn't my mother tongue and I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Před 2 lety +8

      Completely understand and get it, though that is why videos such as this are separate from the weekend adventures that you typically see of which contain little to no "ad focus" content. All that to say I'm truly living my best life working at iKamper and as such I'm proud to showcase it, so hope you understand.
      Appreciate the support up till now 👍

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Před rokem

      Long as the tent it mounted forward enough you should have any issues, though I'd recommend the Skycamp Mini or X-Cover 2.0 Mini in this particular case. 👍
