What happened this year? Well, first there was still the studio. Then Trevor migrated to the shelf, wearing hoodies all of a sudden. Then there was the corner with the screen. And before we knew it, Trevor grew an afro while making us wonder how many hoodies he's got. The 2020 Daily Show evolution.

"Canned laughter" and everything it carries (often sucks), PLUS it could be that people are enjoying Trevor's show this way... Nice, relaxed and funny. Imagine that.

Non-funny sitcoms from the late 80s (like Bosom Buddies) & early 90s (like Perfect Strangers) used it to make their shows seem funny. The Daily Show with Trevor Noah used a live audience, which laughed when a joke was funny, gasped when a story was shocking, & awed when a story was heartwarming. They'd even boo when a bit fell flat, which is how you knew that their reactions were real. Well, okay, apparently YOU didn't know, but NOW you know. Oh, & silence is boring, not "golden."

I agree completely. I hope they teach everything about her in school, she was so amazing . I also hope they will teach everything about John Lewis he was amazing also. The way republicans want to white wash history, we’ll see how it goes. I was trying to think of any republicans who has done anything at all for the American people, not just for republicans but for us the Americans
Season 2020 jumped the shark tbh. Unbelievable story lines, characters killed off randomly, an almost non-existent plot 🙄
Most of it was uneventful, so the director had no solid way to twist the plot. Only action was in character deaths. I'm boycotting the universe until we get some new people in production. Tsk tsk.
It was weird it felt like nothing was happening but apparently every 'day' disasters were happening? They really didn't make them integral to the characters like I couldn't even care about their distress

I’m not discounting the human toll of the disasters we’ve had this year at all. But seeing and knowing how many of our fellow inhabitants of this planet died through no fault of their own is heartbreaking. We humans have mismanaged the f*** out of this planet.

I want to invite the fine folks of Australia to view the “big wind” firefighting tanks, we used them during the oil fires in Kuwait.
Just search for footage of it in use on CZcams.
It is a tank. With 2 jet engines mounted on top. And fed water through the turbines, shooting water at such a high pressure. That if a person gets close to it. They would be sucked into the jet engine. They were originally built in Turkey.
For some reason California and it’s leaders ignored the use of “big wind” tanks to fight fires. The fires are 80% on federal land burning in California. And the feds aren’t sending out fleets of big wind tanks to help either..
I laughed so hard I started crying at the “Trump wants to reopen the country by Easter.”

Lexie, I was in my early 20’s during the Nam war and the s candles of the Nixon years. It’s marked in my brain. So when Trump came I was prepared. You will be too and that’s good for the future of the rule of law in our country. So remember and learn so it can’t happen again or if it does you will be familiar with the legal process. Also how politics and power can corrupt people with good intentions.

Actually the line would have Nero playing the "fiddle" while Rome burned.
Fun fact this would be impossible because the fiddle had not actually been invented yet. If anything he would have been playing a lyre or a cithara. There is also nothing in the way of historical evidence to support the idea that Nero was playing any kind of instrument during the six days that Rome was burning with all of these claims being second or third-hand accounts which in court would be considered hearsay. Even better historical evidence says that Nero was not even in Rome at the time but rather almost 40 miles away in Antium

Ruth Bader Ginsberg was an incredible woman. Even though I did not know what kind of woman she was until after her passing, I have respect for her and her ideals and hope to be like her when I grow up.

Got to give it to 2020. It really did let us "see" with clarity how unfair and unjust America has become since the 1980s. There were small beacons of hope for humanity moving forward... looking at you, New Zealand!

Just as a personal anecdote i.e. Wildfires... My Uncle owns his own construction company which allowed my aunt to raise their children and stay home. When they grew up, got married, and settled down, they took their families elsewhere. That left my Aunt alone. As a person with Bipolar Disorder II who falls into deep, dark depression, and my Uncle always off to work, both of our families came together to work out something that would keep her moving, and keep her happy. Anything at all that would get her out of bed. In the end, they sold their house and bought a 4-acre plot of land that was all forested. This plot already had a long driveway on it and an area to build a house, and a pond in need of some TLC, but everything else was forest. My Uncle built the house, and he cleared the pond, and the trees were all hers. Every day you could find her in those woods, clearing most of the dead foliage throughout the spring and summer, and as construction wound down in the fall and winter, my uncle would help her with the pruning and so on and so forth. He also set small, controlled fires every year. They have had multiple lightning strikes out there in the middle of nowhereland, but never once had any major losses. Just the odd split tree or two, which my uncle always said, thank nature for doing half of the job for me (they had a wood burning fireplace).

Koalas are functionally extinct now- so many were wiped out that there’s not enough genetic diversity to sustain the species anymore.
They were already heading that way, but the fires sped the decline up a lot

I have been saying exactly what you said about this problem of "The housing in the wild life areas in CA" . It appears that no Federal money, State and Local tax money nor personal Home Associations profits have obviously done nothing to keep these home buyers safe. The people that live in the country in CA from the city, should be required to be educated in survival in the woods. The people there should know they have to contribute to their luxury of living in the woods. Follow the money

And then white patients dont want to answer my basic questions

I sense the discomfort seen a foreign doctor, I try to treat them like family bit I sense their resentment because I was born in Mexico
