Ian Jackson, we didn't vote for him. Let me briefly explain The American voting system: The state's have electoral votes,(let's call them EC votes). The same amount of representatives is your EC vote. The people vote in each state. When a candidate wins that state they get all the state's EC votes despite the fact that many of the people in the state might not have voted for that candidate. At the end votes are tallied. The people's vote goes into the popular vote. It's who America really wants. The EC votes are what really matter, you only need 270 to be president. It's like the government's backup plan in case they don't like our choice for President. Hillary won the popular vote, guess who won the EC votes.

It was too close to begin with, the fact that he won in of itself popular vote or no says a lot, about the American people and this is coming from an American person. there's no need to explain anything. the fact is Americans DID vote for him or else he wouldn't have won. If nobody voted for him then he wouldn't have won. A lot of people wanted him to be the president and now because of that we have a child in the White House leading the free world. How can you look at that and NOT be disappointed in Americans?
So the actual will of the people is irrelevant, despite their popular votes determining who their electors vote for. How? The current system isn't great, either; whichever system you have, a certain piece of the population gets ignored as candidates campaign in the areas worth the most votes, electoral or otherwise.

The leaks, the push-back from the intelligence agencies, the courts, the EPA, etc. all show that you can't just push Americans around without repercussions. And it's not political, this kind of thing hasn't happen to any other president I am aware of. This is a reaction to Trump's obvious dictatorial aspirations and flagrant disregard for convention and consensus.
