So i went back to this review and i remember i was procrastinating on reading TLBOTW before too and i’ve seen this video and i’m like “damn i need to finish it before i watch this”.
And now i’ve reread this book a few days ago and i’ve heard a lot of tsc fans saying this book lack of action and i can’t help to think but ?¿ because yeah maybe that was true but this book was a jem! (No pun intented). I loved seeing the OG cast in a mission again as well as with their character developments. I love how when we first seen the TMI gang they’re a bunch of 16-18 year olds and now they have kids and running an institute and just being adults makes me tear up 🥲🥲
**also cues on alec and magnus’ development because i remember how salty alec used to get when magnus mentions a past lover and now he’s just like “it’s your charms” and “i love our life magnus” like???? He’s so casual and so secured in the relationship that he’s able to be sassy and teasing now. 😩😩✋🏼✋🏼
Anyway, i love you reviews! I’m probably just everywhere by now, but i’m putting down a comment cause this deserves it.

I loved this book, I really did. But it didn't feel much like Cassie. It was so great to go back to the OG gang and my god - did I miss them! But it just felt a little off to me?? Still, I loved this book as a standalone novel, ESPECIALLY the Malec development like you said! I'm so happy you enjoyed the video, and the book!!

    Hello.
I'm discussing something here... 😁some spoilers may follow. Spoilers for Chain of Gold. NOTE some of these facts are what I have heard or remembered reading. Reliable sources have been stated.
So in the epilogue of The Lost Book Of The White, all the princes of hell gather in a meeting held by Samael.
I have two theories or thoughts..
I think that Lucifer isn't a person or a Fallen Angel because he isn't mentioned like the other princes of hell or greater demons are.(I may be wrong here, these are just my thoughts) So I think there is a huge chance that Lucifer isn't a fallen angel BUT a plan or a group or a mission name of the princes of hell and Lilith.(I just looked that the Shadowhunter wiki and it says he is a greater demon and one of the princes of hell... if so, why wasn't he at Samael's gathering?). In the wiki is also says that the epilogue of The Lost Book Of The White, is meant to point towards the events of TWP.

The second thing is, Cassie says that TWP is somehow connected to TLH and we know that Belial plays a major role in TLH. Many Princes of Hell appear through out TSC and do contribute to the plot. TEC technically is all about the Princes of Hell. I have a feeling that TWP will be a war of sorts. I mean it is said that is is the greatest Shadowhunter battle and the Shadowhunter world changes. The Black Volume of The Dead is set during TWP according to the Wiki. So yeah. I really think the Princes of Hell play a major role in the upcoming books.
Also, as you mentioned, she commissioned artwork for all the princes of hell...so again...she might be hinting at something or not
I would highly recommend going through the Shadowhunter wiki to all those who do not refer it.

Hey! Thanks for this comment, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your thoughts!! The fact that Lucifer could be a PLAN or a NAME of a mission is a very smart idea, and one that I hadn't even thought of. I totally agree that TWP will be a war against all the princes of hell vs shadowhunters (hopefully from the past and present), and I'm hoping for a Twilight-style head-to-head final battle!! I know TWP won't come out for another few years of so, though, so we can only use our theories and hunches at the moment!

Jace is a difficult one for me, I feel like he’s better in the later books like in The Dark Artifices series when he’s a little older - I’ll admit, he’s annoying sometimes in TMI, but he’s an original character so I can’t help but love him all the same!

@@MyYAFictionAddiction what I can’t stand about him as a character is that everyone else in the world seems to think he is the best at everything but, from my point of view at least, is that he is an above average fighter where as people like Alec learned to overcome their prejudices and is trying to change the system while being as good a warrior

@@MyYAFictionAddiction yeah same. It’s funny for me since I started the red scrolls on this book not the first. Also love that even though Alec is consul now, even his dad wanted him in a big command position ie the inquisitor after him. I feel that Cassie really likes Alec because of this. Also like that he was overshadowed by Jace in his childhood that he is now higher ranked in the government. I know that seems a bit, I don’t know mean spirited, but Alec is my favorite character
