What's so funny is I almost had the opposite experience with Lucie. I've always had a soft spot for her, but reading chain of gold, she was just... very annoying and I started wondering if I would like her character as much, but then in chain of Iron I LOVED HER.
I'm not really sure I would rank them in the same was as you, because I'm such a Jace Herondale and Will Herondale stan..and yes you're right,James is the best..the fandom does not realise his value... I love your videos but putting Lucie there was a hate crime against me😂✋🛑. She should have been at the top with kit and Cecily as the underrated but powerful trio! I loved Lucie becoming a morally grey charachter(i see where julian gets it from), these new powers make her question her morality and she can either let it go, which is the rational thing to do or bring him back with her powers, that does not require killing or hurting anybody else, and as we know love is not rational-especially when it's a 16 year old girl experiencing her first love. Also Jesse balances her, He notices how dangerous dabbling in dark magic can be because he’s seen it with his mother. Lucie is willing to see how far her powers can go, is first when she sees what happenes with Gast that she truly becomes terrified. She’s probably gonna have repercussions for bringing Jesse back. And GUESS WHAT let her. Children learn by making mistake that’s part of growing up. She can’t always have will and Tessa protecting her(if she did some of y’all would glance over her and call her weak). She’s coming into her own and you may not like it but it doesn’t mean that she’s a badly written character. Everyone in the book had secrets but everyone seems to hate on Lucie the most and everyone seems to forget that Lucie is the youngest among her friend group and she’s been sheltered her whole childhood with a brother, who gained most of her parents’ attention. Then he has sex with her not long after Jem "dies". Sorry, permission or not, that was a low moment. Cecily impressed me with how she handled Anna's heartbreak. Kit is my heart too, but so is Jace. His vulnerable moments and his love for Clary are what I love about him. Stephen should have been stronger. I hate that he was so weak and let Valentine manipulate him.

I love him now but I feel like what he said is overlooked. Also totally agree with Lucie! I think it's important to remember she's a lot younger proportionally than the rest of tlh gang and I think she's got a bit of a jealousy/younger sibling complex (if that's a thing 😂) so I liked that she was immature because it put an interesting and unusual spin on a YA protagonist but as a character she is too selfish and naive for me and her lying to Cordelia just hurt me sm. About Stephen, I agree but I've always seen him as kind of bullied into the Circle, but yes he should be bottom tier. And finally... Cecily Herondale appreciation!!!! Love to see her getting the appreciation she deserves 😍
About Jem and Tessa being a better fit, at the end of heavenly fire tessa has a conversation with clary where she says that even if jem is now mortal, he lived a long life and understands immortality which is something very important when it comes to tessa, and it got me thinking, somehow jem always fits tessa so perfectly, in the past and in the now just wanted to add to your comment on them i do love wessa tho also I enjoy your vids very much 🥰
The thing about Lucie is I feel like she made all those bad decisions for Jesse. I agree that she was immature, but I felt both angry with her and sad for her. Like she really wanted to help Jesse because she’s in love with him but it was clear how much it was hurting her to keep all those secrets from her friends and family. It’s even worse because we know how unfair Jesse’s life was and how much he really does deserve some happiness. So while I’m angry with her for making all those bad decisions, I can also somewhat understand because she’s not doing it for herself, but for Jesse. I just hope she gets some positive development in the last book

But I do agree with Will, I didn't really like him, or the romance, I don't know why people thought that series was a "masterpiece, when really it was so cliche YA, with dull characters. And I didn't like the other series, especially TDA series, the romances their were all over the place, I felt none of them was a good pair for each other, all of them were either lying, I didn't even ship Julian with Emma, and Cristina deserved better, I hated Mark and that other dude. And I didn't see a love between Ty and Kit, I just saw friendship. The TDA romances were trash. BUT The Last Hours series romances was so much better, not cliche, not annoying, I love it. But, than again, I love The Last Hours series better than all of her SH series, especially with the characters.
