Aiight, SIR!! Glad we got that out the way. It did last a heck of a lot longer than they usually do but it was so down on power I don't think it would've turned it over regardless. Not fast enough anyways. Blown motors will still start and run it just takes a lot of high speed cranking. That's really why it didn't start. He needed one of those big, fat cabled, plug in jumpers with capacitors.
I feel his pain man,.... I once sunk a neon in water deeper than the head rest and I cleaned it all out and it ran for 3 years and still is. It was an icy night and it was a neon!
@justwolfslife Trust me I replaced the whole unit myself and there was no pulley to mess around with. All I had to do was unplug the power cord and take out the bolts and screw, but you're right about the water pump, which is belt driven. And I believe that the fan does have a fuse. Just check more carefully.
to perform whatever it needs to do. Also please note that the very instant he lets off the throttle it stalls right out and requires the throttle to be pushed in before this engine stalls out to keep it running.
Yes it does! My Jeep battery went stone dead. Put the booster on it and the only way to keep her idling was to keep the RPM's up for about 10 mins. Push the pedal in otherwise it will not start.
A Gloomnivore draws near, attracted by the sound of torment. But once he sees its source, he walks away, realizing it's just a machine making funny noises (Dragon Quest fans will get the reference).
my grand mother used to own 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee just like this one with that same inline 6. She said they r really good cars but u have to maintain it at right Nick of time and if u don't something's gonna go wrong. She always maintained hers and hers lasted up to 210,000 miles before it finally threw a rod. I've thought about buying a different engine for it but just decided to get it scrapped. But we did get close to almost $800 out of it. Like I said before they r good cars BUT U HAVE TO MAINTAIN THEM AT THE RIGHT TIME SO THIS DOESNT HAPPEN.
If it weren't trying to test the gauges then it might have. Or it would have worked if he went and got a big expodition and tried to jump it with THAT.
@somewhathilarious95 I think they may have popped out, that's possibly what the bang was at the beginning and would explain the total loss of compression later on
BTW, my 2005 G.C. had a dead battery. When we tried to start it, it just clicked, like this '99 did. We replaced it by now, but I'm glad we had a jump box, LOL!!!!!!
No argument here. Crazy thing is the old buick/olds/gm motors from back in the day stood the test of time so well you don't have to go through this at all. Those things would run without oil, without coolant, without atf and be fine until someone with the slightest inclination would go .."errrr you have 0 oil in your engine" lol
I wouldn't attempt to start it again, when it started at 3:15, it sounded like a bad connecting rod knock. right now the engine block can be saved and rebuilt, but if it starts and throws a rod and blows a hole in the block, an entire new engine would need to be installed.
there seems to be missing some valve cover bolts.
hope you get it fixed. 4.0l are one tough motor.

4:33 hahaha the compression tho omg
That Jeep sounds like it's crying! It's saying, "Why engine won't you respond! Why did you do this to me!" That's what I can tell from that cry!
I feel you.
BRILLIANT!!! 😂😂👏
Thus engine will get screwed up one day....
R.i.p jeep 2000-2009

2:20 I like that startup
2:41 oh my goodness
Ok?
Sounds like that engine has a total of 1 cylinder with any compression.
Sick, haha.

4:52 I like that startup
Love this JEEP
The few times after the compression decreased. It definitely sounded like it tried to fire off a half of a cylinder.
2:41 me after finding your comment again
At 3:15 the engine sounded like it exploded!
sounds so sad when it cranks
its crying from the way it was abused
Like what is wrong with the jeep and why is it so cranky?
Dang engine
Jeep: sounds like blowing up
Saabkyle04: YEA
XXXmasterboiXXX ROBLOX 🤣🤣
3:09 I like that startup
3:35 I like that startup
Good thing i have my trusty 84 Camry, no matter the weather.. it starts.
I cried...they should put that engine in everything!
as dave of davidsfarm says in one of his many awesome sayings "PUMPAGE!!!"
I am imagining a huge GIF of Bones from Star Trek saying, "She dead Jim" !!!!
So true about the 1 cylinder compression :P
4:38 it took its last breath
Yes it does! My Jeep battery went stone dead. Put the booster on it and the only way to keep her idling was to keep the RPM's up for about 10 mins. Push the pedal in otherwise it will not start.
Hi Kyle do you know you should put the new car battery in the 2000 jeep grand Cherokee
Jeep Chimes sound like elevator bells hahahaha
3:15 dannngg that sounds rouuugghhh.
Horn works good, but thats about all that works on this fine fine machine.
Judging by the crazy needles especially in other attempt, it appears to have electrical problem
Wow! That thing has massive compression loss as it looks like it's cranking on only a cylinder or two.....
5:48 I like that horn
After that first half start it lost all compression That was so funny at the end "screw it"
"Honey, I think we neeed a new car, "
"No we don't! I'm going to get this thing running!"
oh. didn't know that, but it seemed to help for a period of time.
"i think, "whoa, oops, i think thts all the batterys got." haha lol
Starter screaming for dear life!
What'll happen to it? It's a shame to see a Jeep suffer like this one has. It breaks my heart. :-(
That 100 shot of nos blew the welds on the intake
3:14 sounds like me after eating a taco
That thing sounds like I changed my oil in the engine blew up
When it starts sound like it took a dump😂

Sounds better then the Ibishu Covet blown engine from BeamNG.Drive.
Ya tru I play that game
😂
What's that damn box in the driver-side corner in front of the firewall?
@somewhathilarious95 I think they may have popped out, that's possibly what the bang was at the beginning and would explain the total loss of compression later on
Well the jeep almost started. At least my fingers was crossed.
did u put a new motor in it since this vid. if not put a v8 in it
The engines saying: PLEASE PLEASE in yelling to me lol
Sounds horrible when you try to start it up!
Can't wait to see a new engine in there.
From this old Jeep with a blown engine it's got the optional 4.0 L powertech inline 6
The blown engine in the Grand Cherokee it has a blown engine in it the optional powertech 4.0 L inline 6
Can you find a 2004 dodge grand caravan? Please make sure it doesn't have a blown engine.
anyone else notice EVERY VALVE COVER BOLT IS MISSING?
5:14 at least the horn works
Yea the horn work tho ha!
Gotta love those Mopar starters that sound like Whales.. Lol.
how come u never give it a few minutes to let the battery absorb some juice? unless your charger thing is an instant one.
Good thing it’s good nkw
watching more of this did u put more gas in it
When it's turning over it is sounding like kill me kill me kill me
3:13 it sounds like it explosively shat out whatever life was left in it :P
Pissed myself nearly
BTW, my 2005 G.C. had a dead battery. When we tried to start it, it just clicked, like this '99 did. We replaced it by now, but I'm glad we had a jump box, LOL!!!!!!
4:29 Dying Battery - 4:39 D e a d B a t t e r y !
@saabkyle04 is it still there a year later from your comment
How did the story end? Have you fixed it, sold it as it was or scrapped it?
It was fixed and sold
how much is it
@scott93257 There's no Compression, so I bet the Cylinder Walls are BADLY Scored to the point of "This Block is now a Boat Anchor".
How are you windows vista
No argument here. Crazy thing is the old buick/olds/gm motors from back in the day stood the test of time so well you don't have to go through this at all. Those things would run without oil, without coolant, without atf and be fine until someone with the slightest inclination would go .."errrr you have 0 oil in your engine" lol
I think the Jeep is possessed lol
Why does the car not started and have a dead battery? Because
You gonna swap it for her?
Its the NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH
I wouldn't attempt to start it again, when it started at 3:15, it sounded like a bad connecting rod knock. right now the engine block can be saved and rebuilt, but if it starts and throws a rod and blows a hole in the block, an entire new engine would need to be installed.
Gasket gone?
So it is your lot's Jeep now?
4:30 that compression getting off
Woah that compression getting off
It wanted to start sooo bad!
listen to that baby purr... uh... well... groan...
I hope it goes well with that Jeep
theres no hose on the pcv valve
If I am correct and I heard you say "somethings hot"? I'd say it'd probably be your starter motor!
he said “something popped”
Jeep liberty and nitro slt engines for liberty and nitro too
3:15 Jeep fart!!
LOL that Jeep must have ate lots of bean burritos
Try shifting into neutral and start it.
NICE Revisit The Jeep Grand Cherokee With Blown Engine
Wait, diddnt you clean this jeep? how did it get dirty again?
this was before it was detailed
WHy you patting the gas pedal? It's fuel injected not carburated
Well it does.
don't let it see you cri
why did the gauges do that at 2:33?
That’s normal for cars to do, even more modern ones
@saabkyle04 what happened to it
@cardie1234 in case it's a bad connection or somfin think out side the box
That poor thing...
HAPPENS WHEN YOU NOT CHANGING OIL! (Actually I’m Not Mad)
Wow! Great response! XD If I could thumbs you up, I would do it.
It looks like the bolts are out of the engine 6:06
Its sounds like it’s gonna blow up the whole car sounds like to blow
